I really love your videos. They take the stress away. Your house in the mountains is very beautiful. You have done so much with it. Take care you two ❤
Glad you all enjoyed our antique cabinet installation. While it was a lot of work, we are seeing the rewards of it every day since. Can't wait to show you the next iteration of it, as we are always adding to it. Thanks y'all!
What an absolute treat to see this today. WOW a black bear!!! And loved the deer and the racoons on the trail/tree cam. That is great that you can keep tabs on your surroundings and the animal activity. Very smart. I LOVED what you did today in your next phase if upgrading your home. Using the old green to prime the wall and furniture piece was a great idea. Todd!!!!!!!!!!!! You are incredible!!!!!!!!!!! You actually created a piece of furniture!! To mirror the other side of the cabinet/hutch!! You did a super super job of it!! And even the trim pieces. This was not an easy task. See, with all the behind the scenes work that we did not see......the measuring, the purchasing of the right length and thickness of wood, the securing the piece to the wall, the cutting and sanding and cutting and sanding and perfecting. We only see the finished product and must appreciate all that went into it with the pre-fab work. Not to mention all the trips to the store and the time involved with that. And I even noticed that you curved the top of the table-part at the correct radius!! Those perfecting details spell out a great mind! And then when you all painted the whole piece, it looked like an new addition to your home. And I do love the way you continued the paint on the wall and above with a definitive chair rail piece to separate the look. Genius!! So looking forward to your indirect lighting inside the hutch and the new antique brass hinges and latches. And the brass drawer handles are gorgeous polished. Your place is looking so grand.
Thank you as always! And yes, Todd did a phenomenal job!! I was blown away at how amazing it looked after he added the right side. There were so many behind the scenes clips that had to be cut for time but maybe one day we can put those together as a separate video. Glad you're still enjoying the progress!
Lovely video, you had wonderful place to live, relaxing in beautiful woods!, yes I love antique cabinets that lovely with shade of green and looks beautiful!!! Good job, Todd and Rob! P.s. I love beautiful deers around !🦌🌲🦋😉👍👌🤟❤️
Perfect spot for that perfect piece! The height of the room needed something substantial. Love that you upcycled that piece and now you guys will add your own history to it. Wally is obviously training for his first triathlon and shaming all of us...
Couldn't have said it better. We definitely needed a tall piece there and it worked out perfectly. And yep, Wally is our little sprinter, even when we're not feeling the sprint.
Wally is constantly looking out the living room window. Seems that he prefers the outdoors. Then, when he is among the forest, he wants to run for miles. Seems a natural for dog racing. I'll bet a hundred bucks he's the leader of the pack at the race tracks ... ha.
Wow... really putting the glam into your home, Such a Night and Day difference. Great job on the video also all the colors of everything just pops. And of course what would a video be without a Wally walk. Thanks for sharing guys, safe and happy Pride🎉🌈
Thank you, Neil! Definitely a fun before and after. We are amazed at how different everything is looking when we go back and see the clips from day 1. And we're only just getting started! Happy Pride 🌈
"Happy Porch Hour"....?🤣 Glad to see your trail cams are picking up interesting visitors. Isn't there something you can put out (like moth balls) that would repel the deer? There should be something... Those cabinet units are so cool! I'd love to have one. I know you'll really enjoy it when it's done. I am sorry to see you cover up the natural wood, tho. It would look so good w/ the green.
Good title for it! 😂 We have planted garlic and onions around the hostas, but I guess they aren't tall enough to be effective just yet. We've since added a windchime in that area. And yes, we normally are all about keeping wood as is, but we took a risk on this one and wanted to go bold. It was a difficult decision for sure. But in the end, it was going to be more work to make the new end pieces match the original wood on the rest of it. I'm glad it turned out well though!
You had me at salad, i immediately cracked up you all are hilarious. Stay safe from the bees and bears, we haven’t seen any bears yet except for the two that come by in the Toyota FJ every once in a while. 😊
Haha. 😉 Glad we could make you laugh about that. We were editing down a larger conversation in that segment and we were like, why not just show the normal conversation side of things instead of the rest of it. Worked out well!
Hey guys, great job on the renovations inside and out. My boyfriend and I bought a badly needed updated horse farm in upstate New York and I can tell you the work never ends. FYI - Home Depot's co-founder is a big supporter of anti-LBGTQ causes. Because of that, as a gay man, I haven't shopped at a Home Depot in years.
deer, raccoon, and bear, oh my. I live in the Midwest....deer everywhere. They eat my hostas too. I have had some luck in sprinkling hot pepper seeds on them. This project is so fantastic. Again, taking something older (I love old stuff) and making it stunning again. Well done. and hello Wally!
I enjoy your videos so much ! I love your night visitors and love the fact that you took the time to video the 156 legged bug 🐛. He/she was so adorable. Lol😅 beautiful job on the cabinet
Thanks, Nancy! That bug was a treat to find crossing our path. Thought it was rare, but then we ended up seeing 2 more on that walk. I guess it's their season to shine.
Great video, guys! Love the new "hutch". Boy, you do have a lot of critters roaming around your cottage. Anyway, your place is really looking really great!
I love how the place is coming together. The videos are great and I’m hoping UA-cam gives you the right algorithm for a successful channel because you deserve it!
We appreciate it, Don! Glad that it's becoming more of an ever-evolving remodel. Things sure do change from week to week around here. And before we know it, we find ourselves being shocked when we see footage even from 6 months ago. Like we always say, we're just getting started..
I found you guys vlogs recently and I really enjoy watching you both build odds and ends around and within your beautiful cabin. Wally is a definite cutie. I just feel the comradery, love and especially the back and forth humor between you both. The nightlife animal activity is outrageous. I will definitely look forward to watching more of your videos.
The cabinet looks amazing! The color is really perfect for the nature setting. I was surprised by all the wildlife you had visiting. I think they approve!
Congratulations on what you two have done to this mountain retreat in six months. My favourite part of your blogs is seeing Wally, and this blog had a lot of him so I was thrilled. Amazed at how much wildlife came to your place at night!
Good to hear you're enjoying them! And yes, we learned right away that Wally is the star of the vlogs. We let him know often that he's getting famous. 🙂
Really looking great, fellas. Y'alls's home is coming along very nicely. I'm a sucker for a process vlog rather than just the end product. I've been in the design industry way too long to not appreciate the hard work and mess behind a very nice finish. Great to have found your IG and your channel, here.
Hi guys. The wood of that cabinet seemed to be pinotea ( I don't know how it is said in English) which is not a common pine but a very resinous and ductile one with well-defined veins, reddish-brown in color. In our country is a highly appreciated wood for its beauty and its resistance to the passage of time and it is only available in demolitions of old houses. Of course the color in which you painted it fits perfectly in your house. Btw: what does Wally have to say about so many nocturnal visitors? Hugs. Until next time.
Thank you for the info on the type of wood. Always excited to learn a little something on the projects we have going. And yep, Wally has definitely been interested in the scents left from the nocturnal visitors outside. So far, he hasn't seen anything except deer and rabbits in the daytime. And let me tell you, he was not happy about the deer encroaching. He put up a big silly bark that scared them away. 🤣
@@toddandrob I suppose always behind the window just like every brave dog should scare off the intruders. Lol. "Fleeing soldier is good for another battle".
I wondered when you planted the hostas if the deer would get after them. We live in the middle of a suburb and yet somehow the deer make it to my yard and treat my hostas like an all you can eat salad bar.
Wow, they are persistent, that's for sure. We were hopeful that the onion and garlic that we planted around the hostas would help deter. But those haven't grown as fast yet. Onward to other options..
I hope you guys are keeping a rifle close by when you are outdoors. And when you go on those walks you need pistols on your hips. That bear walked right up to your house. He or his buddy might come back in a bad mood due to hunger and walk right into your house. Outdoors a rattler or copperhead might take a snap at you. Rather meet up with a rattler. Them daggum copperheads are just plain mean and wait for you to step on them. Now I’ve never tried this but I heard years ago that if you had trouble with deer snacking on your plant to put human hair around under the plants. Deer don’t like to smell humans. I was told just to lift some leaves up on the ground and place hair under them. No one can see it and only you know it’s there. It breaks down into compost. Just visit your local barber shop or hair salon. Y’all be safe! Y’all are doing things I’d love to do but I’d need a new home or add a few rooms on. Y’all ever been to Cave Springs? Kind above Atlanta and to the side of Marietta. There is an antique shop there, in the town intersection area, that has a drugstore wall piece. It’s huge. Stools for sitting at the soda fountain, shelves for novelties, counter top space for items for sell. It’s the kind your parents visited when they were young. They don’t make them anymore. Y’all need that. Rich, rich wood. Beautiful thing. Congrats on video #10. Keep filming!
We are definitely staying more vigilant around here with all the creatures. We're just waiting for the day we come across more snakes. And no, we haven't been there but from the sounds of it, we definitely need to check it out! Thanks!
I really love your videos. They take the stress away. Your house in the mountains is very beautiful. You have done so much with it. Take care you two ❤
That just put a smile on our face. 🥹 Thanks so much.

We appreciate hearing that. Just out here being authentic and enjoying every day. 🙂 Thanks for tuning in!

You have a beautiful spot to get away from it all, and your hard work is paying off as you transform it into the place of your dreams. Great job!
We appreciate it, Derek! It truly is a relaxing area to escape to. Cheers!
I just found you sweet boys, this evening. Be still my old heart! You're talented and creative...and your mountain retreat is beautiful!

Yes, we ended up buying bulk cayenne pepper that we sprinkled over all the precious plants!
Another great video. Love the colour that you selected, and the cabinet looks like it has always been there. Take a bow Todd you did great.
Thanks, Gregory! And I agree, Todd did such a fantastic job! And he's been working hard on the rest of that 25% left of the project too.

Such a beautiful place to live! Love the cabinet and finishing around it. I enjoy you both, your videos, and your dog.
Glad you're enjoying the videos and the progress on the cabinet. It's been a lot of fun work so far.
Looks amazing 👏 😍 I think I need Todd's DIY skills

It's Behr's Black Evergreen. We love it!
