you hit the nail on the head with the Skyrim thing. The exposure you get from playing a game or watching a show in your target language can do wonders and a game like Skyrim where you can wander round and NPCs will just talk at you as you go by is perfect
I actually loved it. I jumped in a little too deep because I couldn’t do anything without constantly pausing to translate, but it probably would have paid off eventually.
Love your videos man! You're sporadic view counts are so weird to me. I feel like your video quality warrants way more than some of them get. Either way, I'll keep watching. Keep it up!
I appreciate it! I think a lot of people came here for Harry Potter videos originally, so the audience is a little all over. I’ll still probably make videos about it, but want to be able to make others as well. Appreciate you watching!!
It might just be me but I've been working on learning Japanese from Duolingo for the last few months and its gotten to the point where I understand more than ever could. To the tune of I can see where localizers have changed things in subbed anime. My end goal is to not need subs in the first place.
@@VaultLore for me too. Firstly English and now Spanish. From my point of view it is just a new viral trend to hate duolingo ;) And every smart person can justify it and make good arguments against it. It is just an app. You can always learn the basics and then improve in other ways.Besides in Poland it is a lot cheaper than Netflix if you buy it for a year. What's more the price for a year is equal about two regular language lessons. Clearly you won't be able to learn more in two lessons than at whole year. Even if you are just "streak keeper" and do one lesson a day. Additionally when I bought subscription I've started to engage more and I see a lot of progress every week. It is just a tool. You can use it in wise way if you are willing to.
@@VaultLore The main thing is, I'm actually trying to learn by doing more than the 15-20mins a day the owl demands or what I've seen others do, a 2nd grade level duo-math lesson just to keep a streak going. Something that takes maybe 20 seconds to do. Completely defeating the purpose of attempting to learn.
I have a streak of over 1000 days on Duolingo 😅, but to be honest I don't really expect to learn the language with it. (I'm doing Japanese and Norwegian - with the occasional visit to English -, and while I will never be able to understand them fluently, if I ever got kidnapped and dropped in one of those countries I would be able to ask for help and/or food at least lmao) I do a couple of lessons every day before going to sleep, so it became sort of an habit - it's even relaxing sort of.. (Now I kinda want to try Skyrim in Norwegian, tho - if only it existed ofc)
@VaultLore I ain't seen heard from or spoke to my family in over 7 months...Ni modo, he aprendido la lección ahora y mi español ha mejorado mucho😀ahora puedo presentar una denuncia policial en ese idioma, gracias Duo🥲
Duolingo always seems strange to me. If your goal is to retain words, why not just read a book that already is chuck full of them? Duolingo is designed to be comfortable, not too challenging and rewarding. Language learning, isn't all 3 of those at times. You have to go out of your comfort zone to learn new things, it isn't easy to learn a language. And there isn't really a way to determine success, even in english I come across words I don't recognize. Like the word interlocutor is one I learned not too long ago.
Pls dont get discouraged by the views ammount on this one. You are really good at it, do more! Tyvm!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it! :)
The editing on this video is AMAZING
Thank you!! It was a labor of love, but hopefully it was noticeable!

I've just found your channel and it's crazy how little feedback you've got on this one so far. Great video!
It’s a diamond in the rough I guess. I appreciate you watching it! It’s one of my favorites
Your editing and scripting are only getting better!! Excited for the future of this channel!!
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching!
600 views is a crime. This deserves at least 3 zeroes more at the end
Maybe UA-cam will push it :( thanks for watching! Glad you liked it!
You really blindsided me with that elo comment!
Big chess player?
Nah, an ex-player. Been sober for a couple of years now.

For sure. I was probably doing an hour a day, it just felt like at some point there were better resources to spend an hour on.
Should have way more views and subs crazy
I’ll never know why this one didn’t take off. Thanks for watching!
Only 108 views!? I assumed this had at LEAST 1,000x that while I was watching, its so high quality.
Feel free to share it around :) thanks for watching!
I did a hard double take at 449 views, like what??
@@lilypadparty 😔 not sure, UA-cam is just UA-cam sometimes. Maybe I need to try reposting it
Can’t miss a vault upload

Good Evening, Mr President
Don't let this distract you from the fact this it's still spanish or vanish
Spanish or vanish?

Agreed, should be able to stock up on them or something.
