Stayed at this place a few years ago, it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't want to get a huge hotel room when I only wanted to have somewhere to sleep. And it's pretty close to everything, great place to stay at if you want to explore the city.
We love the historic & cultural heart of Japan - Kyoto. Love the traditional ryokans but this capsule hotel is wonderful - so clean, still private & at this price - unbeatable value!!! Especially for those visitors who want to spendmore time just soaking up the atmosphere in Kyoto. Thank you for sharing this gem with us on youtube.
That is so cool, and the $20 price is unbelievable. The amenities were good and we got to see the shower ☺️Thanks again for giving us a glimpse of travel in Japan. I enjoy your videos…have fun, stay safe and we will see you (well, not really 😀) soon.
Watching these makes me feel like a trip to Japan could actually be affordable for me. I haven stayed in hostels before so the whole "shared" experience doesn't bother me, and this is even cheaper and nicer than those.
Dunno if you've gone yet, but I went to Kyoto last summer for ~6 weeks as part of a study abroad, and its pretty cheap (compared to the US at least). Especially due to the current exchange rate. You can easily find capsule hotels for $20-40 a night, along with pretty cheap food from places like ichiran and nakau, i think it's possible to survive in kyoto on only $1000 USD for a month, though I would recommend doing something like $1k per week so you can splurge.
Your videos and your channel in general are incredibly interesting! I love how you’re able to show every tiny detail with care. I also appreciate the absence of music a lot, it’s very much an ASMR experience somehow 😌🌸 keep on making videos!
I love this and wish we had this accommodation option. I love solo travel but hotels soon become very expensive and the cheaper option is then a hostel but I don't want to share the room. This would be perfect for my travels - cheap, clean and private. Space isn't an issue for me when I'm only there to sleep. Thanks for letting us travel through your videos!
Thank you for showing what a typical breakfast looks like in Japan. It's so different from what I am used to seeing, but looks very healthy and balanced.
Wow that is an awesome price, even at the new cheapest price of $26. That and cheap udon makes me want to visit Japan even more. Seriously, watching your videos has made me consider just travelling around on every train and ferry possible, staying in cheap capsule hotels or sleeping on the move.
That is incredible value and quality for the price. It isn't set up for people with a lot of luggage, but amazing for people who travel light or missed the last train.
I lived in a capsule hotel for 1.5 months in taipei a few years back while I was finding an apartment. It was only 10 dollars per day but a lot smaller. I did my freelance work while in the capsule the whole day hehe
for 20 bucks it seems MUCH better than what i'd call those "Traditional" capsule rooms that are soooooo small! we have several Marugame Udon's here in San Francisco area but almost double the price of ones in Japan, thanks for a great video!
I travel to Japan for work often before the pandemic... There is nothing in SF Bay Area that can compare food wise. Even Japantown in SF still has a gap. Japanese cuisine is too elaborate and labor intensive and it's just hard to do well for the US market.
You’re overlooking the significant problem of not having access to key ingredients locally. Getting them elsewhere takes time and money that inevitably is recouped in increased menu prices. I lived in Japan for 3 years (and in S Korea for 2 years) and traveled the country extensively during that time. I quickly learned that the lack of available, quality ingredients is why it’s all it impossible to replicate my favorite Japanese dishes in the US. Hawaii and believe it or not, Alaska, IMO do it best. Being states with well established fishing industries, that makes sense. And as pricey as Japanese food is in SF, food in Alaska (where I lived for 3 years as well) is even more expensive, as is literally everything else there, paying war mfrom homes, cars and consumer goods to health care, home repairs and even concerts. As a traveling judge in the military I spent a lot of time covering the pacific including Hawaii and know how cost prohibitive living there is, including the cost of groceries but what Hawaii has over the rest is direct access to the fish/shellfish needed to make various dishes AND having readily available Japanese ingredients. Depending where you live of course a restaurant could order what’s needed but that comes with a premium price tag. But If you think prices are bad on mainland Japan, you’ll want to avoid dining in any semi upscale Okinawan restaurants in that prefecture 😬😳 😱 When you’re on an island that’s 60 miles long and 13 miles wide at its widest point you learn to expect paying at least one arm and occasionally a leg for your dinner.
I loved that place, stayed there for a week right before the pandemia it is nice, clean, the staff was super friendly and well located, I simply loved it!
There should be more hotels like this at airports. For short naps while waiting for the connecting flight.I've slept on airport floors for too many hours in the past
The size of the bed alone has me sold! It's larger than my single mattress at home, and I can sleep quite comfortably on its smaller dimensions :) I'd be fine with a conventional capsule too, but I can imagine that the wider and taller space would be extra appreciated by people who want something a little bit more spacious, but still fairly compact. This one's going on the list of hotels I'm keeping track of for when the time comes to book my first trip to Japan!
When I used to be active on a travel site, I always rated the shower in a room and how it performed. Pressure, temperature, drainage... You rate the things that are important to you, lol.
I only find it funny because you can't find public toliets with any of those features here. Like maybe in a high end hotel room here in the Rust belt? What he calls a B tier would be the top of the line at home Depot for close to $1,000+
My favorite capsule hotel! They have the comfiest bed I've ever slept in throughout our Japan trip back in 2019. So close to everything, specially Nishiki market. I wished we got to stay longer 😞. We cant wait to go back once we can travel again.
Wow ,this is a excellent stay... Just wonder how the staff manage to make the beds and look so good lol id stay there a few nights so i can explore. At that price amazing .thanks this was good .
Frankly this looks more comfortable than splitting a hotel room four ways for a fighting game tournament here in the states, and definitely cheaper than a room for Evo. At least you get your own bed!
Haha so cute that they have a whole bathtub (and big pockets on the nightwear shirt)! 😂 Can't believe all those lovely things they offer for only 26USD! Nice! Thanks for the video! 👌🏾
I love these capsule rooms as I'm the complete opposite of claustrophobic. I love sleeping in small spaces makes me feel cozy and comfortable 😌. New to your channel its great binge watching on my day off 👍👍
I travelled to Japan pre-pandemic and stayed at 9H capsule hotel in Kyoto, definitely paid more than 4000 yen and space was much smaller. But the service was still great and vibe was nice.
We could not have something like this in the U.S. There are way to many people that would mess things up. We would not keep it clean and you would have a bunch of bums ruining it for everyone. It looks really nice. I can't believe you get sleeping cloths and a tooth brush included. Very nice!
Thank you for showing me around Japan without making me leave my seat. As if I'm traveling around Japan myself! And good luck to more travels in the future! #Subscribed
I stayed at the one in Tokyo in 2019 for two weeks! It was such a great experience. Had a few pod neighbors who were up talking on the phone until late, but the staff was quick to help and solve the issue. Bathrooms were always clean, well stocked and beds were so comfy. Tons of storage under the beds too! I plan on staying there again in the future! It is also one block from ichiran 🤤
since I snore quite a lot I would never be comfortable staying in a place like this. So thanks to your videos I feel that I can have an idea of how it's like.
Udon noodles are delicious and incredibly easy to cook. It looks like fat spaghetti :). It's easy to find in Asian shops, if you have any Korean, Thai, Vietnamese shops around where you live.
This is where the Japanese got us beat! Who needs a $200 “suite” when all need/want is a private sleeping space for 8 hrs. that doesn’t cost a fortune! Have always thought hotel rooms are the biggest rip-off in terms of what one pays and gets in return...
