I like the work you do for us mate, you deserve a few more subscribers. I’ve been at Areca a few times, still one of my favorites for location and facilities.
Seeing this place brings back memories , this is where I first stayed when I went to Thailand in 2006 and I stayed there 2007 and 08 as well. Back then I remember I was paying 1200 baht night including breakfast. Back then that Evergreen wing wasn’t even built , and I remember going there watching them actually build that third block at the back behind the main pool
I arrive at Areca on the 15th December. Booked same Deluxe pool view room for 3 weeks back in March at around £60 per night average. Nrwy year bumps price up. Shame about Las Vegas bb I had heard that had to turn the music off at 11pm..
Hi Paul. Always enjoy your videos. I've recently returned home from pattaya. Sadly while there I got a chest infection. So wasn't my best visit. I'm starting to plan my next trip now. I'm thinking on. 1 week Da Nang 1 week Cambodia and 2 weeks Pattaya. Do u have an opinion on the order I should do trip. Thanks
Great to hear from you Tony, I also got a chest infection the last time in Pattaya! I did a similar trip a few years back, when I started in Bangkok then flew into Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and then onto Cambodia before returning to Bangkok. I've not been to De Nang.
Thanks for response Paul. Can you recommend a hotel in Ho Chi Minh and Cambodia please. How long would you stay in each place and what would be a decent budget.
@@tonyRoberts-c4y It was quite a long time ago I did this trip, I can't remember the hotel names. I know I stayed in area one in Ho Chi Minh for three days and then had two days in Siem reap before getting the bus to Phnom penh for two days, but I only had a week holiday for the trip.
Parked my car on the waste land before the hotel was built before playing golf at the cafe Kromberg acoss the street .this hotel still one of the most popular in the city
I've stayed numerous times, but probably wouldn't repeat. From 9 till 3pm all you hear in the corridors are walkie-talkies from house keeping. No lie in, no afternoon power naps, nothing. Nice hotel tho.
I've not heard about this before, I'm normally out during the daytime but that's very interesting. Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comment. 😁
@serhiyivanov4685 There are many good hotels to choose from, it depends on location, if you don't mind being a little bit away from the center, I would go for the March or Sleep with me in Soi 19 (No breakfasts).
From the reviews I've seen on Areca Lodge it's always disappointed, particularly the cost. I tend to use D-appartments just off Soi Buakhao opposite New Plaza. Slightly more spacious room, especially the bathroom with balcony rooftop pool, small kitchenette area for 900-1000 per night. But without any breakfast options. Obviously being Pattaya there's always a decent restaurant/cafe within yards of any accommodation, so the breakfast option isn't a problem.
I will be there in Feb .that's $91 ca . It's to much for me . Our dollar is really down . I need something around $50 us . Thanks . Good video. Also the noise will get to me .
Evergreen part of the hotel is nice, breakfast is very good, nice pool and your right in the heart of it all.Perfect for a few nights.
Yes I think I'm going to try Evergreen next time I stay there.

That is really well decorated. Simple but functional.

What a bargain, prices have moved on a little bit since then, it's still a great hotel.
@ it was also also when the Australian dollar was buying at 30 to 32 and now it’s 21 baht to the dollar

I didn’t turn the music off the nights I stayed, would like to know if that happens when you stay 😁
Great Location stayed there many times usually stayed out back Evergreen side
Ah that’s awesome!
How much did the ladt with nice legs cost 555 ? Joking aside I like the Areca but like you said its pretty expensive now for a noisy location
That’s exactly right, I think the price is steadily increasing. And yes they were nice legs 🤣
Stayed there once many years ago. Certainly cant understand why so many people online speak good about it.
Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your honest comment, I appreciate it.

Wow, when was that? you must have some stories about Pattaya 🤣
Sad to hear the massage room has gone away. The ladies were extremely friendly.
There is still an in room service 😁

LK President 1100 baht per night. Much better value.
I must try the LK hotels.
Nice hotel , good location, but overpriced
I think you're right and possibly you have to pay for the location.
