Greetings from Russia! I recently made sugar wine in a liter bottle with baker's yeast. The fermentation process took about 3-4 days and stopped. I got 10-12 percent alcohol. However, it is quite difficult to drink it in its pure form, after 3 glasses it becomes tasteless) As a child, I made wine from garden berries without adding yeast, I plan to repeat this with store-bought juice
Thank you. Psw paw. I am experimentijg with various flavors and tryimg ginger juice. It's still cold here, so I put mine in an ice chest with a heating pad. The alcohol content seems lower than store wine, so we drink a little more to chill with.
This is great idea, Paw Paw. It would be great if you make for us a video of making a Hard Iced Tea with tea bags. I started an alcohol wash today with 2 cups of sugar for the 2 quart jug and after it finishes I plan to mix it with....... Well actually what I will do is to make 16 oz of hot water mixed with Lipton tea bags steeped and then when that cools back down to room temperature then to pour it into the jug of alcohol wash. I'm not sure if that's the best way to do it........but why don't you make for us a video of you doing a Hard Iced Tea. That would be fun for us subscribers to watch. The chatGPT says to use 6 Lipton tea bags.
I have 3 bottles going and one of them I decided to shake it up on day 8 and the next day I noticed more bubbles on the top (more yeast action) compared to the 2 that I had left undisturbed. So shaking the bottle once per day may result in it finishing faster. I will run the experiment until the end and see.
Thanks for sharing this PawPaw. Ran across this video recently & made me thirsty. Going to mix up 2 jugs worth & see how it goes. Weather is still cool at night (50's) & daytime is 70's - 80's low to no humidity so could take 5 to 6 weeks in the shed but I'm looking forward to trying it out. Thanks again!
You aren't going to be happy. When the temp of your mix drops, fermentation stops. It takes a long time for it to warm up passively after being cold at night. Why aren't you doing it inside the house instead of the shed ?
@@DoingItCheap You are right. After seeing another one of your other videos you said "Constant Temperature" and I realized it need to come inside the house. My initial thought was the daytime it would get very warm but the lower temps at night won't do it any good. Thanks
@@DoingItCheap I invested in a one gallon glass fermenter with an airlock and bought some wine yeast all for under $20. One of your other videos shows the wine yeast yields a little higher proof. Hope to have some good stout cherry juice based wine a month from now. Have a nice day!
Ok i have to say I love your recipe for wine and have been making it for a long while now. From one paw paw to another I like to add the wine I pour out back into it after its done brewing(30days). Or cut it with another juice i bought etc.. to fill it back up. Flavor is enhanced greatly and believe me it doesn't drop the alcohol content much!! Works great! 😂Tastes better by far
I've got a bottle of grape wine with wine maker's yeast coming due here in a few days, but this peculiar wine with kool-aid looks so yummy! I think I know what I'll be making next! BTW: I live about 2 hours away from Hastings, NE where Kool-Aid was invented.
Pawpaw, please try making some mead. You make it just like you do your wine except instead of sugar you use honey. You can add water and yeast to it for a traditional mead or you can add juice to it to make a melomel.
Pawpaw ive made your delicious wine plenty of times. But only with apple juice and grape juice. Any advice on half raspberry half lemonade juice half red grapes??
My advice...... life is too short to not experiment and learn something new daily. If you are curious about making a flavor, try it. What do you have to lose ? Good luck and enjoy !!
The ingredients in the Kool Aid powder may slow or inhibit the Yeast action. So its safest to add the Kool Aid at the end of fermentation. And probably the flavors would be affected if the yeast fermented with the Kool Aid powder for 30 days.
❤ I love that you put your song at the beginning of your videos again ❤
I like that track you made with the guitar in hand 👏👏👏👏👏
Been with you for five years or more and still gonna watch your channel! Have a better tomorrow PawPaw!
I have cranberry, apple and white grape going and it's so hard to wait for it lol
Fav Kool-Aid is the Sharkleberry Fin ..strawberry, banana, orange flavor.
Have not been able to find it in the stores.
Glad it’s nice there. It looks nice outside here, but when the wind blows it’s outright cool. Thumbs up for videos everyone.
Yes, thanks
Great video PawPaw, that watermelon wine sure do look good PawPaw, you’re Awesome PawPaw. 👍👍👍
Thank you 🤗
Paw Paw I'm making my wine the way taught me thanks, Sir! 💕
Thank you for the video PAWPAW ! ☺♥
My pleasure!!
Looks pretty in that glass with ice!
Very clever.
I'll be right over for a glass
You will have to drink some white grape/peach wine. This one is all gone........well almost, I have about 1/2 a cup left in my glass !!! LOL !!
Looks like a perfect after yard work beverage on a beautiful spring day!
It is! The word AFTER is very appropriate in this scenario !!! Two glasses in and it is time for a nap !!
Cherry 🍒 lime would make a great summer drink 🍷
I would have been dangerous as a teenager had I known this
They didn't have Amazon until I was already a man, but yes.
I'm with ya there lol !!!!! Noooooo Dought!!!!!!
Same. Instead I was choking down MD/2020
Years ago you show us how to do this and I love all flavors Thank you again
Hello pawpaw ❤almost to 100,000 ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉so happy for you❤The watermelon 🍉 wine 🍷 looks refreshing ❤Have a great evening ❤
Very refreshing....... had a great evening........ just woke up at 2 AM from my self induced nap !! LOL !!! This is good and potent stuff !!

Thank you! 🤗
Paw Paw might knock his wine off the table 😂
I’m going to make your wine one of these days lol. Love the videos.
Thank you !
Greetings from Wisconsin 🇺🇸👍
Wisconsinite here as well. I ferment EVERYTHING! Best is cranberry. I'm surrounded by cranberry bogs.
Hello there!
I truly enjoy him 😂❤
Thank you.

This alcohol wash is designed as a base ingredient to mix with something else. Such as Kool-Aid or lemons or Iced Tea

I haven't tried that one yet but its on the list, good video keep them coming THANKS
We love you paw paw😂
Let's get it on💯👍
Looks so good
Hey Kathy !!
I'm going to try this for sure! it's $20 a 750ml bottle here in canada and that breaks the bank big time haha. excited to give this a go

Thank you, the proof is in the tasting !!! Now that I am awake..... 2 AM....... that stuff will help one rest better than the drugs hawked on TV.

The problem you run into is it takes about a week for all the particles to settle after shaking. You want your wine to be clear and not murky.
@@DoingItCheap Yeah Paw Paw, you are right. I stopped shaking it, its not really helping anything.
Looks good.
It is!

If the weather is under 70F then try using a heating pad to wrap the bottles with and stick it inside a cooler or wrap it up with wool blankets
Thanks Paw paw i have 6 jugs started in my closet
Good luck!!

keep on making videos my friend, I like watching them on my spare time! God bless you brother
Ps! I have a collection of different different brews made. Love em all!!😂
I've 3 batches going, first one is ready tomorrow I hope.
I've got a bottle of grape wine with wine maker's yeast coming due here in a few days, but this peculiar wine with kool-aid looks so yummy! I think I know what I'll be making next! BTW: I live about 2 hours away from Hastings, NE where Kool-Aid was invented.
While at Walmart (at 36 cents per pack) I bought several different flavors to try.
I've had Kool aid wine it's good.
I have made the water wine and it's good on its own but I never thought to use coolaid..I'm gonna make a couple gallons now
What is your water wine recipe?? :)
Attempting your recipe now, white grape and peach juice but I only had 3/4 cup so I added 1/4 cup of Country Time mix .. we'll see.
All the white wine juices at my local Walmart had preservatives on the label. Too bad for me and thus had to choose grape juice only.
I am subscribing on 100 acounts lol jk, hope you hit 100k soon.

Honey is too expensive. Using honey is NOT doing it cheap !!
@@DoingItCheap I just found your page but you seem like a smart dude!
Yes it has. I just didn't know if it was cloudy are not before I put the kool-aid in.
If it is not as clear as water, it is not ready.
Ok, I didn't know if you use a distilled water or what kind you used. Thanks
I have made the juice wine and love it.
I hope you watched the whole video and saw me pour this off into another jug.
I'm 65 years old yes it sat 31 days. I have fixed the Juice wines. THANKS

Yum 😋
howdy do bob
I have a question. Can I just pour the Kool-Aid into the wine container that I made like that??
You don't want to drink the sediment. That is why I poured it into another container.
Can you please make a video on pomegranate wine and strawberry wine
Is there a special kind of water? I tried it with bottle water and it looks cloudy is it supposed to be that way?
You do know this mixture prior to adding the kool-aid has sat over 30 days, right ?
paw paw I'm sorry if you've answered this before but is it okay to use a juice that contains "sodium citrate" for wine making?
Pawpaw, can you make tea or coffee with the water wine and, if so, is it any good? Can you use it to make jello?
I don't know if jello will set up in the presence of alcohol.
Hey Paw how did the Mrs. Like the 🍉 wine? 🍉🍉
She LIKES it !!! Dang it !!
@@DoingItCheap lol 💯
I have tried this water sugar and yeast mixture and not a fan at all! It’s like a glorified wine cooler. I’ll stick to grape juice sugar and yeast
Exactly, this costs pennies a glass to make and wine coolers are over $2.00 each in some places !!
Thats using your hat rack lol
I would also like to try it with green apple or artic apple if i can find any ❤ new subscriber
Thank you for subscribing !
You never addressed why you don't put the kool-aid in with the sugar at the beginning 😢 Can I? Thx..
I don't want to add the kool-aid until after it is made and racked to get out the sediment.

Gonna turn your beard pink paw.
This batch turned out OH so good !!!
Love to see your work. Can i use Sparkling grape
Not sure I understand your question.
@@DoingItCheap love seeing your videos... Sorry Boss I was asking if I could use sparkling white grape juice to make wine
Thanks for your quick response
I am sure you would be disappointed. The fizz would be gone after 30 days.
Thanks.just asking
What proof, would you guess it is?
24-32
Got a little bit of a kick.
yes it do !!
A sugar wash tastes like a sugar wash, no matter how you try to dress it up...
Well it tastes pretty damn good to me !! It takes over 30 days for mine to make. There is no yeast taste at all.
@@DoingItCheapThanks Pawpaw! ...is it possible to get my wine 12 or 13 percent just using juice, sugar & a little 5g packet of lalvin ec-1118 yeast?
Mine keeps tasting rotten/old
Would you get to 100,000 subs already!
LOL !!! If you had already told all of YOUR viewers to subscribe to ol' PawPaw's channel, I'd already be there !!!
@DoingItCheap I have definitely told all my buddies to help you out the last couple weeks.
I truly appreciate that !
There ain't no sound
Only on your end. All good for everyone else.
Can it be done with more than a qaurt of sugar or it has to be exactly 1 quart
You are either too young or not a subscriber or both.
