KingLibra: do you love your parents, children, significant other, assuming you have or have had any of these? Can you show me this love? No, of course you can’t. Love is not something you can physically hold in your hands or take a photo of and declare “here it is”. When we humans jump in front of a speeding bus to save a loved one from certain death, it is called love. But if a mother owl sacrifices herself to save her children it is called “instinct for preservation of future generations. i loved fin's obsession with just taping any agg he finds, even when it's not theirs, I imagine that if he had found a chicken egg he would have taped it too.
It is a wonderful species. I dare to comment, without hesitation at all, that it has one of the most beautiful plumage of the world fauna. It is a fantastic video. Congratulations, I really liked it.
@@RobertEFuller Really sad indeed - but those feathers you found and the fox appearing unreveal a very reasonable and horrific scenario for such a inexperienced owl, right?
@@robinsonkrusoe164 I’d say so, imagine you are just on your own for the first time trying to find your sister, and looking for food the first time and something the largest you’ve ever seen comes up and attacks you, you weren’t prepared and flail your wings cause that all you know to do but it’s already too late, just like that your gone.
I cried. The story of the barn owls resembles my family's too much. My mother is slightly older than my father and seems a bit more experienced. I'm also my brother's older sister by 2 years and a half. I always thought that my brother was attacked to coddled, but in later years I became his confidant. Then, unfortunately, he started taking drugs in a critical point in his life when he needed to become independent, but ended up becoming incapable of doing the simplest of things. It came to a point when I had to internalize that my little brother may die from one day to the next, with no warning. He's barely 22. When Thyme disappears, just after taking his first flight into the outside, my heart sunk. But although I feel pity for him, I will cheer on for Nutmeg, who from early on showed strength and courage and is still doing her best.
The smaller Owl became much stronger & braver because of its bigger sibling. This relationship the two have is not unlike the sibling relationship that "humans" exhibit. "Thank You Robert" for sharing your LOVE for LIFE with us ALL (smiles & hug) GOD BLESSES ALL.
What a beautiful video! Where else can you see such an intimate story from beginning to end. Finn has really proved himself as a new time Dad, it was really wonderful to see ❤️
I have barn owls nesting in my barn and they have been there for a few years at least. For the last three years we have seen the babies in the barn before they fully fledge and leave. It is absolutely wonderful. All year round we can see these owls and sometimes they sit on the rafters in the barn before taking off for a flight. The last few nights when I have been out cleaning and refilling my hedgehog feeders, I have seen an owl fly around the front garden and swoop about 3ft above my head. They are used to us being around. They certainly are noisy birds.
i love watch the prozess how the owlets look in begin and how beautiful they turn when they get adults! and i adore watch Gylfie how tender she is when she covers them

It’s amazing to me how ugly baby birds can be, pigeons look like a horror story. And yet there are birds like ducks that are cute right out of the egg.
I feel so sad for thyme. You can tell he was just so little and shy and docile like his dad. So sad to think he was killed on his very first flight from the nest. Poor sweet baby.
A big thank you to Robert E Fuller for making such an extraordinary film! These barn owls are so beautiful and he lovingly showed us their personalities. Looking forward to the sequel with Nutmeg as a mother 🥰
Several years ago I was lucky enough to meet a tame European Eagle owl she was absolutely gorgeous and let me kiss her on her beak and it is something that I will never ever ever ever forget - she was beyond belief and the kiss that we shared will live with me forever.
Gylfie putting up with a really young mate is adorable. She's like "no, you give me the food, not eat it yourself" and then I can almost hear her letting out a annoyed sigh at his attempts to mate.

Tbh I had a bad feeling about it he just wasn’t ready 😭
Me too. He still looked so little when he went to fly off. I think he just wanted to do what his sister was doing and didn't want to be left all alone.
The most fabulous 30 minutes I’ve had in a very long time. Thank you for telling the beautiful story of Nutmeg and Thyme.
Thanks 😊
i loved fin's obsession with just taping any agg he finds, even when it's not theirs, I imagine that if he had found a chicken egg he would have taped it too.
It is a wonderful species. I dare to comment, without hesitation at all, that it has one of the most beautiful plumage of the world fauna.
It is a fantastic video. Congratulations, I really liked it.
Thanks they really at beautiful birds
Charming family. Finn is the most responsible father. :)
Loving this connected universe, thats much better than Marvel nowadays
I’m so sad about Thyme, he could have been so happy and only wished to be with his sister. So sad to never see him again…
It’s sad alright ☹️ but they don’t all make it unfortunately, Just wish we new what happened to him
Yes it’s such a shame ☹️ we kept hoping he would reappear
@@RobertEFuller Really sad indeed - but those feathers you found and the fox appearing unreveal a very reasonable and horrific scenario for such a inexperienced owl, right?
@@robinsonkrusoe164 I’d say so, imagine you are just on your own for the first time trying to find your sister, and looking for food the first time and something the largest you’ve ever seen comes up and attacks you, you weren’t prepared and flail your wings cause that all you know to do but it’s already too late, just like that your gone.
So wonderful to see these beautiful barn owls. Enjoyed seeing them raise their young.
Thanks 😊 they are already courting and nest scraping ready for this year’s breeding season
"Thank You Robert" for sharing your LOVE for LIFE with us ALL (smiles & hug)
GOD BLESSES ALL.
Thanks 😊
What a beautiful video! Where else can you see such an intimate story from beginning to end. Finn has really proved himself as a new time Dad, it was really wonderful to see ❤️
Thanks for watching and so glad you enjoyed the film
It’s looking good for them this year already nests scraping
I have barn owls nesting in my barn and they have been there for a few years at least. For the last three years we have seen the babies in the barn before they fully fledge and leave. It is absolutely wonderful. All year round we can see these owls and sometimes they sit on the rafters in the barn before taking off for a flight. The last few nights when I have been out cleaning and refilling my hedgehog feeders, I have seen an owl fly around the front garden and swoop about 3ft above my head. They are used to us being around. They certainly are noisy birds.
Thats great to hear.
This channel has really helped with my anxiety thank you so much.
OMG! How endearing! They are so beautiful. They live a precarious life but survive. Owls are my favorite birds.
i love watch the prozess how the owlets look in begin and how beautiful they turn when they get adults!
and i adore watch Gylfie how tender she is when she covers them
The look on Nutmeg's face as she saw the outside world for the first time.
I love watching the family grow and how sweet and dedicated they are to each other!!! Thank you Robert and crew for all your dedication , I Sssooooo Appreciate!!💕
Thanks 😊 means a lot to us to get so many people enjoying what we do here
They’re so delicate with their younglings, they’re feeding the smaller one first, and they’re trying to stay together no matter what, it really goes to show you how evolved their brains are.
You sir, are an amazing asset to world wildlife preservation.
Dear Mr. Fuller. I hope this message finds you well. I really hope that you get to read this message so that you understand the impact that you have on your audience. I have to say that you are without a doubt, if not the best, definitely one of the best narrators that I have had the pleasure to listen to. I have watched almost all of your videos and you continue to inspire me to learn more about nature. You always take me on such an amazing journey traveling across the country to learn more about our feather buddies. I have learned so much by just listening to you. The detailed information that you offer us is out of this world. I am so thankful to have found your videos. Mr. Fuller, you have given me the motivation to continue learning and studying birds from all over the world. I also downloaded a few apps that can help me identify the different sounds of the different birds we have here in our state. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for lifting up my feathery spirit and learning more every single day. God Bless. and I hope that you continue doing these videos because you may not know how much it means to me and I know many, many, many others. Thank you so much and God Bless.
Oh thanks for taking the time to send such a long and lovely message We appreciate all the feedback we get and always strive to bring more wildlife and improve our videos and storytelling We love what we do here as a team and it makes our day when we see such positive feedback 😁
We have an owl around our house who has been great at getting the mice who were after our chickens’ food. It’s amazing to see how many they get.
We need more humans like this owl family; Loyalty, courage, responsebility, commitment, and love! RIP Thyme
They're so majestic & fascinating! The ending was heart-breaking. I realize it could've been much worsens, as nature is often so damn cruel. They raised one hell of a daughter, though!
Thyme was sadly electrocuted on the transformer on the electric poles I was away and only found out after we made the video the fox had him once he was already dead
@@RobertEFuller When things like this happen, is this a very painful and difficult part of your job? Or do you not let yourself get that attached to them, knowing some of them won't make it?
@@RobertEFuller 😞😞😞
There's no one else like Robert E. Fuller to present bird movies. He's the greatest. I might watch every one of his videos.
I'm just crushed about Thyme...such a brave and determined little fellow. Thank you for this indescribably beautiful and engaging video/narrative.
We have found out he was most lightly electrocuted on the transformer on the electric pole near our house
@@RobertEFuller Oh my how sad. I know nothing about transformers but I hope that's something you can prevent a possible recurrence of in the future...
Owls create such beauty protect them forever.
So will miss Finn. 😭 to hear of his passing. Had to watch this again.
Your owls share their food with each other because you are a good mommy to them 🦉
This is the sweetest video I’ve seen in a long time. The nature of these owls is lovely. I’m very saddened by the death of the tiny owl.
Every owl I’ve seen you ring their so docile and never try getting away or taking a chunk out of your hand
Apparently holding them by the talons and supporting their bodies helps really well at minimizing stress and discomfort. I also kinda think being out in the open for the first time is a good distraction hahaha
Thank you for the recap!! Such a beautiful barn owl family!! I am truly amazed at God’s creation!!! Watching their story was filled with awe, laughter, love, and sorrow!!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching
I always love to see owls but knew very little about them Thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful family I loved the way you took time to explain everything
Thanks glad you enjoyed the video and it was a bit educational too 😃
Thanks for the wonderful video of Finn and my darling Gylfie. So many moments have been forgotten in this sad year. I wish you REF, your family, the team and everyone watching here, a happy new year and Gylfie and Finn better luck in the next breeding season.
Dagmar, frohes neues Jahr meine Freundin...
@@terratitanic2490 Danke, das wünsche ich dir auch, liebe Freundin
Thank you for you wishes, Dagmar! Wishing you a wonderful year ahead! 😊
@@Master_Petes_Theater Thank you so much :-)
@@dagmarkunzel5406 You're most welcome! ☺
I came for owls and stayed for the incredible cinematography and story. Thank you for sharing a slice into these guys lives and immortalizing such a GOOD owl. Thyme will forever stay in our hearts ❤️
Mom & Dad never leave each others side, big sister feeds little brother when parents are gone, little brother defends big sister from pigeon, this is better than Disney. Barn owls are now my favorite bird.
What a wonderfully sweet relationship between siblings nutmeg and thyme. And Finn is the gentle caring husband and father every good woman and child deserves.
What an amazing resume of parenthood for this couple. Fabulous to be able to witness all those moments we would never normally see. Such intense competition for the best nest sites. Must be like securing a property in Mayfair getting hold of one of those stumps !
He was a brave little owl, millions shall miss him! May owl chick #2 rest in peace..
Awww! This is such a wonderful family barn owl video. It was so bittersweet at the end but life goes on.
Yes it’s a shame they all don’t make it
These owls have the cutest faces I really like them thanks Robert
Owls are my absolute favorite animal. They're so beautiful and so smart. They're so interesting!!
Yes 👍 owl are brilliant 🤩
I’m in my mid 30s … I grew up on a farm and had many jobs involving animals in my teens and 20s
Also grew up during the golden age of the discovery channel and all of those wonderful documentaries. Spent my whole life absorbing as much animal content and spent as much time with animals as humanly possible my whole life
But this short documentary has been just as rewarding and enjoyable if not more so… Then any i’ve ever seen. Thank you
I get the sweetest delight watching and hearing your voice, such beautiful moments and I sincerely appreciate your videos, I have learned so much and I pray you continue!!!
Thanks again for sharing 😊
Seeing the owls care for each other as siblings is so heartwarming. 🥰
Barn owl chick…a face only a mother can love.
It’s amazing to me how ugly baby birds can be, pigeons look like a horror story. And yet there are birds like ducks that are cute right out of the egg.
But they grow to be truly magnificent creatures
Watching the life of a bird is really fascinating it feels like it's telling a story if that makes sense
I love birds of all kinds so the Amazing video of the Barn Owl family, is right up my alley. Thank you Robert.
I feel so sad for thyme. You can tell he was just so little and shy and docile like his dad. So sad to think he was killed on his very first flight from the nest. Poor sweet baby.
Wonderful to watch this and relive the fantastic moments again! Thanks for this lovely video !
No problem glad you enjoyed it
Fin and Gilfi make an amazing pair. The family looks so peaceful..quite a rare masterpiece.
Nutmeg is such a good sister, helping to give food to her little brother Thyme 🥰
A big thank you to Robert E Fuller for making such an extraordinary film! These barn owls are so beautiful and he lovingly showed us their personalities. Looking forward to the sequel with Nutmeg as a mother 🥰
The next instalment will be coming soon
Rest easy, sweet Finn💕🌌💕
THERE WING'S ARE BEAUTIFUL. 👑🤍🕊️💞
Several years ago I was lucky enough to meet a tame European Eagle owl she was absolutely gorgeous and let me kiss her on her beak and it is something that I will never ever ever ever forget - she was beyond belief and the kiss that we shared will live with me forever.
Look at that massive grin at 4:15 the pride in that smile
Gylfie putting up with a really young mate is adorable. She's like "no, you give me the food, not eat it yourself" and then I can almost hear her letting out a annoyed sigh at his attempts to mate.
"I raised two chicks and one husband."
All eagles, owls, hawks and falcons are my favorite birds 🐦 👌
