We might not have had UA-cam videos years ago but the crafting TV show with Aleene and her daughters started me on my crafting journey! I remember her making paper beads as well as "porcelain" roses out of white bread and glue. She was a pioneer! I'm enjoying your videos! ♡
I remember her show watched and recorded her shows on VHS tapes. I made the porcelain roses with her glue and white bread and acrylic paint, I even would get her craft projects in the mail and put them in a binder. That was many years ago brought back lots of crafty memories lol.
Your talent for the beads you make according the unique project you designed on your own is not "clumsy "! It is another expression of your crafting in the "paper bead" world! Thank you for sharing with your viewers!
This is a wonderful video. One little tip that I use is once I get the paper started on my tool I Put A little dab of art glitter glue and hold that for a little bit till it dries and that helps with the shifting
How lovely and fun. These turned out so pretty. AndcI followed you very very easily. Excellent tutorial. Don't wait to try this. I want to make thicker , longer ones to attach to a chain or breaded nylon strings to use as pull-chains to turn lamps on, or to turn on the overhead light bulbs in closets. Thank you so so so much!
Great video. I make jewelry and have for years. Your struggle with the loops is still something I go through every once in a while, even now. It is what it is sometimes. I am doing the same nail hardener polish too and think it does well.
Hey there Lisa: Thank you for showing how to use the righy size yarn stick to seal paper beads with. I was using a smaller one, & they just kept sliding back & forth. And...thanks for telling us about the "fast drying nail polish". This type does make a big difference. I love your idea for making these journal assemblies. So cute! Your NOT clumsy. We all! have our own way of doing things! And your getting your style accomplished! You go! girl. Loved your video!
Making loops is so much easier with full size round nose pliers. I started out with those little ones and I got frustrated and pinched. Very pretty beads, and explained so well. Thank you.
Using bobby pins are a great tool to use when making paper beads I buy a bundle of wooden chop sticks from the Asian market next to my home 🏠. And I glue a Bobby pin on the top 🔝 of one then I use the otherbchop sticks to hold the beads while they are drying and I have a styrofoam Circle that I just poke the Chopsticks in, they just stay there till they dry.
I started beading personalized wedding garters basically I hand bead on the fabric, silk or a poly blend to match the brides wedding colors, I will add small charmers etc. regarding the bride & grooms work or things they like. But I have never made my own beads from paper.
Hi. New to your channel and loving it. A tip to make the loop at the end of your bead is to grab the wire at the end and turn your round nose pliers. It makes the loop much easier to make. Hope that helps.
Thanks for sharing! You were talking about rusting your pins...I found some at Joanne Fabrics (I’m sure at other hobby places, too) that already had a rusty/bronze patina to them. They already look aged instead of the silver tone. 😊👍🏼

This was a nice video with good info. In making jewelry, I use clear nail polish for many different tasks. However, you were hanging your beads from a paperclip, but what is the other little clip called and where did you purchase them? Thanks
Great tutorial. I also love those dictionary beads, but they all are great. I was disappointed with using Mod Podge as a glaze because of the stickiness.
Hi Veta, I like going to Michaels and Joann fabrics and buying paper stacks. They have different weighted ones; I would avoid the card stock. You can also use magazine and book pages :)
Lisa, you are so quick to respond thank you! Can you show a real bad beader, how to attach these to a cord/string (whatever) in the middle of the signature to hang down? I have mine attached but am distracted by all of my knots, cords sticking up and closures making beads hang funny.....help!

Wow, this is so pretty. Such a pretty idea. I was looking for an idea for Christmas ornaments. I saw you only added glue at the end, do you find that it unravels? I guess the nail polish also serves as glue but was just curious. Thank you.

Hi , I enjoyed your video. Just one question what did you do with the knitting needle when you were letting the beads dry? Did you have it stuck into something so the beads touched nothing but themselves?
hmmm.....all of my paper crafting stuff is in storage (uhhhhhhh I miss it so much)........If I had it here I would look at the needle and let you know. I really think you could use all different size needles, as long as the hole that it creates is large enough to thread with the material you want to use...wire, thread, flat head post and so on
