  • Paper bead art ideas are always on my mind and a couple of years back, I had an idea to make really pretty, unique paper beads really fast with this paper bead art hack.
    I have already made a couple of videos about this idea for paper bead art and you can see those videos here:
    • Paper Beads European S...
    • Crafting In A Crisis 2...
    This new video about making stunning, decorative paper beads very fast is using the same technique.
    To help you create these same paper beads, I have designed a printable paper bead strip template which I am giving away free on my website.
    If you like this paper bead art idea, which is designed to create decorated paper beads really fast and have them look as if you spent hours on them, get the printable and follow this paper bead tutorial.
    It is easy to make these paper beads but, people will think you've spent ages making them.
    I hope you enjoy this paper bead tutorial and I hope it helps you take your paper bead art and your paper bead jewlery making to another level.

    You must be using paper that is white core since you said you paint the edges. If you purchase paper that is solid core, you can eliminate this step!

    • @RainbowLane
      @RainbowLane  Рік тому +6

      Hi Becky, thanks for that. To be honest, some of that card WAS solid core and actually didn't need the edges colored. Some edges weren't white at all and obviously didn't need coloring but I didn't get into that, I only showed the ones that did. It came in a pack where not all the colours were solid core and I probably should have gone into that aspect. That was the first video I made after coming back to work after the trauma of my mum's sudden death 8 months earlier and I was still all over the place mentally - getting through the process of making that video was really hard because I had moved my work space back into the room that had been my mums. I was pretty much on auto-pilot but trying to get back into full-time working after two years of her round the clock care. It's coming up to a year now and I'm just about back into being of sound mind 🤪. Looking back, my mind was still off in cloud cuckoo land and I probably should have taken the whole year off to let the dust settle. Thanks for pointing this core anomaly out - I will mention it in another video but I am sure people will see your comment - actually, I'll pin it to the top. Many thanks for watching and taking time to reach out - it is much appreciated. 🙏❤️

      Thank you Sophie - I really appreciate that. We literally just got back from a walk that we used to take mum on in her wheelchair. All the spring flowers are coming out and I could almost hear her voice saying how beautiful the colours are - she loved flowers and always commented on them as we walked. I was feeling sad thinking that Spring 2022 was her last one and we didn’t know - then we got back and I saw your lovely comment - it has reminded me how lucky I am to have those memories, even if they make me feel sad at the moment. So thank you for your timely words and thanks too for watching. 🙏❤️

    I am sad for your loss. I lost my mother when she was 93 and we were very close. I believe Mom is heaven and we will be together again. This is a tremendous comfort. I loved seeing the pictures of your sweet momma. I can see that you took good care of her the way you had her all bundled up and included her in your life. She was certainly blessed to have you and your husband. Especially at the end of her life which can be very hard and lonely for some. Being a mother myself,I believe she loved you and would want you to be happy.

    It doesn't matter how old they are or if they were sick or not, it's always hard to lose a parent. Lovely of you and your family to make her last couple of years happy and fun. That is so true - and I don’t think we can ever really prepare ourselves for the loss. I suppose that’s the price we pay for having people to love. Re your beads, they probably aren’t boring to other people but I do know what you mean when you say you find them boring. I feel like that about some of mine. But it’s not a bad thing that we feel like that because it makes us try harder. Thank you so much for your support and for your lovely comment. 🙏❤️

    I do not believe in 'closure'. I believe we simply have to find our way to living without their physical presence. I also believe the depth of our grief and loss is directly linked to the depth of the love we shared. My parents passed at 62 and 69 - entirely too young. Adjusting to the 'new normal' is never easy. Mother remains my very best friend. I often feel 'it only hurts when I breathe'. Yesterday I was renewing my vehicle tag. A lady walked past me wearing my Mother's favorite perfume. I cried. Mother passed in 1999. That was all the family I had. Adulting can be challenging. Allow yourself all the time you need. Everyone has to cope in their own way, in their own time. Be kind to yourself and do not set time parameters. Your Mother knew she was loved. She wasn't alone. That is such a gift.

    • @mollymouse4900

    Hi Gilly. I was watching a paper bead video by jennibelli from 9 yrs ago. She had this nifty little trick. After rolling some of her beads, she dips the ends in paint. So dip one end, let it dry, then dip the other, then glaze. This is instead of colouring the sides of the paper strip before rolling. It colours the white edge, but also makes them look like they have a metal core, depending on the paint you use. I don't know if you have also done this ? Sorry I haven't memorised your entire blog 😄

    • @RainbowLane
      @RainbowLane  Рік тому +1

      Hi Alli, thanks for that tip. Yes I have done that before but can’t remember if I have blogged on it (because I haven’t memorised my whole blog either😂). I know lots of people do have success with that, particularly with gold metallic paint. But it’s not something I really do now because my dips aren’t that clean and neat, they were quite splotchey. Also, it only works with tube beads. Most of my beads are completely tapered or slightly tapered so even if I dip the ends I’d still need to have coloured the edge that winds in a spiral as the strip tapers into the middle of the bead. Leaving that edge white isn’t too bad if the paper is very thin, but I often use heavier weight paper which gives a more pronounced edge. Tedious as it is, I am a bit of a fanatic about colouring my bead strip edges, as you may have noticed! 😍 However, many people will love that tip and will love the look of it if they are neater with it than me. I had trouble getting my paint puddle to exactly the right depth to get a more subtle look. I do suffer from over thinking things though!!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing that Alli - hope you and Yummy are well . xxx

Cherish the loving memories and know that although not present physically our loved ones are here spiritually. My parents transitioned a year apart 2016 and 2017 and my only son 2019 all suddenly🕊🕊🕊 We love and miss them greatly yet I feel they're here looking over us. Sending messages in many ways, a butterfly or bird or humming bord stopping by to let us know they're present. I send my love to you all and God's Comfort Strength and Love rest upon you in Jesus Mighty Name Amen and Hallelujah!❤❤❤❤

    • @RainbowLane
      @RainbowLane  2 місяці тому

      Hi Sonia, apologies for the delay in replying. All the cut files I have are in my etsy shop but they have been designed for Silhouette Cameo rather than Cricut. Cricut users do buy them but I do warn buyers that they were made for Silhouette. I don’t give my cut files away as free printables as they take more work to create. Also, they have been purchased by so many people, it wouldn’t be right to start giving them away. If you do an etsy search for bead strip cut files for Cricut, there are a huge number of choices at very reasonable prices. Thanks for watching and good luck with your new hobby. 🙏💕

    The beads are lovely. I have some nail art stickers I've had for years so I'll have to give these a try.
    Condolences for the loss of your mum, in particular how it happened, I can't even imagine how that felt. I lost mine when I was just 29 and it was sudden too, just a few days after I'd gotten home after going up to see her for a few days. 'Active' grief is something that yes, we all go through at some time in our lives, but it looks different to us all and however long it lasts is however long it needs to. Take care and only record when you feel able to.

Bless your heart. I'm very sorry for your loss. It's so very hard to lose our parents. My family went through the same thing. My father passed in 2017 and then my mother in 2020. My mom was 93 and it all happened so fast just at the begging of the covid pandemic. She did not have covid. Our situation was very similar in that my mom became very sad and was never the same after my father passed. My parents had been married for 68 years. My older sister lived with her and took very good care of her. I am just getting back to feeling like my old self now.
    Thanks for the great tutorial. I'm just learning how to make paper beads. I do need to buy a paper bead tool. My aren't coming out great without one.

      Hi Lucinda, yes, yours is a very similar situation so you know how it is. You must have lost your mum just as mine was moving in with us. It must have been so hard for our mothers to continue life without their husbands after so many years of marriage. My parents were 11 days short of their 70th anniversary and were completely devoted to each other. No matter how much us children cared for them, nothing could have stopped the emptiness they must have felt. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it does help us all to support each other across the world when we know others have the same pain and are gradually getting some normality back. Sending you a big hug.🙏❤️

    My deepest condolences for your loss. My heart feels your pain and loss, for I have been coping with loss myself for the past 6 years. I lost my Grandmother which raised me from 3 days old in 2017 . I wasn't physically able to be with her during her last moments and I never had the opportunity to tell her goodbye, which has haunted me to this day. She and I were very close and there isn't a day that I don't think of her and miss her. I want to commend you for adjusting your lifestyle to care for your Mom. Yes, it is sometimes overwhelming to do so but, the moments and memories are forever cherished. We had moved my Grand into a dw trailer in my yard and until I sold the mobile home, I could literally hear her walking with her cane in the mobile home. The mobile home was just too painful for me to see everyday so that is why I had to sell it. I apologize for my rambling but sometimes it helps those of us grieving just to talk about it. I have found it to help me . I will be praying for your comfort, strength and peace, may you find these things in the lovely memories that you have of your Mom. God's Blessings to you and yours ❤️🙏
    P.S. your beads are beautiful and thank you for the free printables.

      Hi Marie, many thanks for reaching out and sharing this. Please don’t think of yourself as rambling, you are very welcome to share your thoughts and feelings here, just as I did in my video. So please don’t worry. In a way, you lost your mum and your grandma all at once because you were so tiny when she started caring for you. What a lovely person to look after you all those years. Of course you miss her and feel upset, even after 6 years - its not that long in the grand scheme of things. I completely understand that it is painful for you because you didn’t have the chance to say goodbye. But I’m sure your gran would want you to forgive yourself because she wouldn’t want you living with that pain. So try to think of her telling you not to feel bad.💕 You did your very best for her by the sound of it and it’s very easy to blame ourselves for not doing it all perfectly. But no one gets it 100% perfect. We just do our best. Be happy - that is the best tribute you could give to your gran’s memory and that’s what she would want for you, the dear grandaughter she loved so much she looked after you from three days old. Thank you so much for reaching out. God bless you too.🙏❤️
