I hope this fixes some issues you maybe having, and let me know what problems you have come across and what's worked for you. USB Formats - The most common format used is FAT32, but I also found that NTFS also worked to play media.
Thanks for update mate. Taken your advice regarding the Ugreen adapter. Slightly pulled the connection apart and it now works. Ding dangley doo..Thanks again.
Adam I have experienced what you had happen about saying no network connection. I found unplugging the Ethernet cable and plugging it back in after 3-5 seconds have fixed it. A question I have anytime I restart my firetv all my apps get rearranged. Any idea how to fix that? It drives me crazy. My system is set up as your video 4K Firestick beast mode.
Great advice . I began using a brand new firestick about 10 days ago, and my USB hub stopped working. After watching your video, I swapped the USB for one that is over 10 years old, and it is working a treat again. Many thanks.
I was pulling my hair out trying to connect the UGreen USB hub. I had the OTG cable connected to the Firestick and was using an ethernet adapter I bought off of Amazon. It worked well, but when I tried the UGreen hub it stopped connecting through the ethernet and would only connect WiFi. I tried every combination I could think of and still couldn't make the UGreen work. Then I watched your video...Viola! I pulled the usb connector slightly out of the OTG cable slot and it connected ethernet. I plugged in my thumb drive to the hub and it flashed the icon in the lower right corner of the screen. I can't thank you enough! In the meantime I'm upgrading to a new Firestick so that I can enjoy the convenience of OS7 and not the hassle of adding a drive through OS6.
I purchased the OTG cable along with the U-green hub as per the video "Turn your Firestick Into a Streaming Beast" for my 4K Firestick. Sadly the hub would not recognize either a USB stick or the ethernet cable being plugged in. I tried plugging the hub into the PC it it worked just fine, so I knew it wasn't dead. The OTG cable recognized a flash drive right away, so I was good there. I saw and then followed Dave Simpsons suggestion regarding installing a very short USB extension ahead of the hub and everything worked like a charm instantly. Not sure why this makes a difference but, it surely did for mine I saw where Paul Carranza stated he contacted U-green and they told him "IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO WORK WITH THE FIRE STICK". It may not be designed to work with the Firestick but, it definitely does with the little mod. Cheers :)
I've just set this up having purchased it all in January and it didn't work, no ethernet connection or no additional storage & to late to send back to Amazon so I was a bit annoyed so I'm glad that you did this video. All it was was the USB was pushed in too far, pulled it out a little and bam all working. Thank you Adam and thank you to the person who suggested that. 👍
What worked for me (probably covered somewhere in earlier 486 comments). This is for larger than 32gb USB's. No problems with my FS 4KMax - detected large USB and formatted it for use. Not so with my FS Lite - recognized 32gb USB, but nothing at all happened when I tried larger USB's (wanting to add/access a bunch of movies in mkv/mp4 format, via VLC). Downloaded AOMEI, and formatted the 512gb USB to FAT32, plugged back into the OTG and the FS Lite & VLC recognized it straight away, and played well. As I'm typing this I just realized all I had to do was let my FS 4K Max format the 512gb USB!!!
One mistake I made early was not having the power supply for the ugreen 3 port. You have to have the power supply. This is my finding anyway. Oh by the way, if your having massive buffering with this system, using a vpn has really helped, as comcast throttles you down, when it realizes your streaming excessive data. The vpv masks the data draw so comcast cant throttle you down. Dont be fooled by the speed, its almost half of what you would think you need, but it evens it out and nice even data transfer occurs. Just my experiences. But my system is screaming. I use this setup and have 3 media servers connected, where the programs are being saved, using tivimate to get the epg and firestick 4k. Just incredible, and I owe it all to you, you joke telling helper you!
7:45 110v vs 220v is irrelevant as both are converted to 5v USB power anyway. In most cases a universal power supply included with a device will be rated something like 220V at 5A or 110V and 10A. Meaning both are putting out the same wattage (power) of 1100 watts.
I literally had the same problem with the ugreen hub not working, I did what one of the people in the comments said ( you mentioned him ) and I pulled the usb input out a little bit and it worked!! Many thanks that person
Man. You are the absolute best. I watched this video a long time ago and actually gave it a thumbs up- even though I didn't think any of the suggestions would work for me. I did a search again today and your familiar face was the first that popped up. To my amazement, the suggestions that made the least amount of sense is the one that solved the problem I was having for a year. After plugging in the USB source, I backed it out slightly and what do you know. I thank you so much.
I know this is an old video but it is still helping. My Ugreen adapter stopped working, i tried disconnecting and reconnecting all the cables and it didn't work so I bought a new one from amazon. It didn't work either so I searched for answers on the net and found this video. A wiggle on the USB between the adapter and the OTG and hey presto, it works. Now I have an adapter I don't need lol. Thanks, I love your channel.
I was one that previously commented I could not get the Ethernet connection to work. I watched this video and was skeptical. The first thing I tried was to pull the usb part out partway and that worked. Thank you for the tips!
So glad I watch this video yesterday. Just had one delivered plugged it all in it didn’t work. So I done the little pull on the USB bit and worked straight away. I learn so much through your videos cannot thank you enough 👍👍👍
I know it’s a weird one.. but I’m so glad you’ve done a video on it and put it out there because I’ve literally just had one delivered plugged it in didn’t work done you little trick works a treat.. can’t thank you enough for doing the little videos that you do m8 TOP WORK 👍👍👍
@@happihibby You shouldn’t have a problem connecting it if you pay attention to this UA-cam video.. Play close attention to when it comes down to wiggling the USB bit and then you shouldn’t have any problems but you may have to restart your device a few times
Just had to get one for my firestick as the wifi decided not to work on it but took me a while to get it working thanks to commentors tips in this video. I took USB out slightly and it came on now have 4K and a steady 92mbs connection :) Used a generic Omivine usb ethernet adapter with 3 usb ports £11 off amazon worth every penny
Great video that solved my problem. After moving house I could't get my Firestick 4k max to see the USB hub or LAN cable (despite the same set up working perfectly in my previous property). I just pulled the USB connection from the hub to the OTG cable out approx 1-2mm or until the blue lights come on the hub and my problem was solved. For good measure I upgraded the power supply to the Firestick and atttached one to the hub. All hunky dory now !!
Can’t thank you enough for this video! I have been struggling to get the Ethernet connection working on the ugreen hub - I followed the advice on loosening the usb connection to the otg and it worked!!! Thanks so much!
just sent the hub and power adapter back to amazon. did all the above and more and still would not work.. then i read online that the usb hub is not working for a lot of the new firestick models !! very disappointed ..
That video was a definite help, I only recently found your BEAST video & picked up the accessories. Didn't work though. I gave the cable a wiggle & a slight tug and the blue light came on. Sorted !!
I bought the U-Green and worked for a minute then it stopped, so I returned it and got a replacement. The replacement didn’t work either. I contacted u-green and they told me IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO WORK WITH THE FIRE STICK, so I returned it. I purchased the USB upgrade from U-green (the silver one without the LED lights) worked like a charm.
Your fix for the boot problem is what I have figured out also. The Firestick gets stuck in boot or goes into a boot loop. Simply unplug the USB extra storage and it boots up nicely, then plug the USB in again and the Firestick finds it. You are good to go.
quality, i bought the bits you suggested to hook firestick 4k up to the ethernet cable and at first it didnt work...but i pulled the usb plug out a couple of mm and voila, im now connected with greater speeds! top bloke, tar very muchly...
I have had all them problems you have mentioned in the end it drove me mad and I binned the idea glad you made this lastest video I will try some of your fixes Thanks
This is very cool, but I am having a problem getting the firestick to recognize my WD 1 T usb hard drive. Does the hard drive need to be formatted FAT 32? If so, I can't get either my home computer which is running Windows 7 or my laptop to do this. Mt home computer USB can't deal with the size and my laptop doesn't offer FAT 32 as an option. All the other functions and wireless controller work great. Any suggestions please...Thanks for the great content! Also, I found a solution to one of the power problems, I was using the a TV power source for this setup and was having problems, so I tried using the opriginal Amazon power source to the firestick and that fixed the power issue for me.
Had the issue with connecting with Ethernet. All fixed now. I did what you said and unplugged the Ethernet adapter, plugged it back in a few times untill 3 lights came up, unplugged the Ethernet cable to the router and plugged back in and Boom Boom shake the room. The issue is with smaller adapters connection. May try a new one if it plays up. 👍
USB drive would intermittently be picked up. Fix was using my phone plug rather than the Amazon plug so obviously wasn’t getting enough juice. Cheers pal 👌
An update to my problem with a new V.3 Firestick and Ugreen hubs that work perfectly with other Firesticks but not with my new V.3. After I got the memory stick working with a different brand of Usb hub I also tried an old generic 2.0 Usb hub and it worked fine with the V.3 Firestick and memory stick. I then rummaged around and found I had a Usb Ethernet adapter and plugged it into the working Usb hub that does not have built in ethernet and it works fine. From this experience perhaps a suggestion may be that if the wiggle trick does not work for you and have or can borrow alternative hardware give that a try.
Considering this video is about a different set of accessories for the Firestick this is probably not the best place to ask, but I'm new to this Firestick stuff and still learning, so maybe I can get an answer here, if anything maybe I can add to the pool of knowledge being built here. Before anyone asks I'd rather not have to buy another piece of hardware if I can help it, with everything going on in the world I do not have a spare $25-ish to get the UGREEN USB hub/ethernet adaptor right now, things are tight. I'm using the official Amazon Ethernet adaptor, came with the second hand Firestick when it was gifted to me, and a different OTG cable I had beforehand, a TUSITA 3-port charging OTG cable which you can find on Amazon. I cannot get both to work at the same time. Which ever of the devices comes second in the little daisy chain will let enough power through for the Firestick to boot up and function, no continuous restarts or anything, but other than that it won't work. I'm thinking that maybe it's because the female micro USB ports on both are designed to only allow power through, no actual inputs of any kind, but I don't have any other devices that use micro USB to test this idea with.
5:10 THANK YOU!!! I have a Gen 2 firebox/firecube that eventually needed space but wouldn't detect a usb drive. Switched the debugging and it poped right up.
I just Wiggled the OTG cable and the USB cable out a very little bit so its not Connect it so tight In it fixed itself immediately Thank you for the info
Really great information that could help me a lot ☺️ just found your channel and really happy I did .I use a lot of ugreen products and didn't know ugreen made one will be buying on of there's never had a problem with any item of there's cheers shez have a great day
I had the same issue. I bought a new usb 3.0 Greenline ethernet hub & it would not read the internet signal or a usb drive. I ruled out my otg cable, so that was working fine. Then I swapped out the otg cable with a newer one I had bought previously, then my internet signal & usb drive worked flawlessly!!
My system works great bro, thanks to you. I use the same stuff you recommend. Im wondering: I use it with a usb remote, and a 1t hard drive connected to the usb ports. Question is. Can I somehow see this drive on the network, being that its connected to my router via ethernet cable? I cant see recording movies with tivimate, and taking the hard drive off to get the movies on my media server. What u think?
I’m trying to wire direct to the modem and router at the same time using rj-45 splitter problem is fire stick 4K is not recognizing the wired connection. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
Unreal ! I spent hours online lookin for the answer, then I find this laughin brit, and he tells me to loosen the OTG to ethernet and USB adapter, and bada bing ! Ockhams Razor again. I appreciate your info relay from across the pond mate. - From a Scot in NH.
I'm having the same issue with the Firestick still connected to wifi after plugging in the adapter. I'm not home now and just found your video. Will check out all these fixes when I get home. Thanks for all you do. I'll post my results. Cheers!
I have an Transpe.ed Android 13 TV stick. I've bought a otg adapter & plugged into one end of the TV stick USB & the other RJ45 end into my modem. The modem light's up on that port.( No built in light on the otg adapter ) When I check the settings, on the TV stick only the wireless connection is made. No ethernet connection show's I've tried pulling out the USB a bit, but nothing changes... I've rebooted several times etc... HELP
Can't believe just wiggling the usb out the otg cable actually worked how does that even happen but thanks to this video I would never of thought of it
Thank you so much for this. I purchased all the bits with a voucher I got for Christmas and went to set it all up today. It didn't work. Watched this video and pulled the connection out slightly between the OTG and USB hub and hey presto, it worked! Mad that it fixes it haha 😂 we are all good and my Wechip remote is working now too. Thanks all :-)
Had a problem that it would show internet connection as good until I tried to launch an app (UA-cam, Prime). Added the power supply to the adapter as suggested and now it works great. Thanks for the advise.
The problem I had ( using the Ugreen adapter ) was the USB stick was showing in file manager Aps, but not showing under the Firestick 4k settings. The FS 4k even had the cheek to tell me I had to format to Fat32! It did this for me and the USB stick active light was on, but still never showed up in settings. The Ethernet was running perfectly. It seems its an OS problem. This only gets picked up and then formatted for internal storage for firesticks with OS 7. Those with OS 6 ( like what I have ) have to download an ADB app then run some commands to get it to access the firestick as storage, or part storage part memory stick. This was relatively easy to do but not as quick as having OS 7 in the first place. Just glad I didn't throw the adapter out as was getting frustrating!!
I'm currently using a 2nd Gen Fire TV Device. I'd like to be able to add 10/100/1000 ethernet adapter to this by getting a UGREEN USB 3.0 Hub Ethernet Adapter or going with a Amazon Ethernet 10/100/1000 adapter. But I did read somewhere that in order to get the full capability of a gigbit ethernet connection you should make sure you are using USB 3.0. With that stated my 2nd Gen fireTV device contains a USB 2.0 plug in option. not sure if either of these ethernet adaptors would work for me to get the full gigbit capability. Would I be better up upgrading my fire TV to the latest firestick or Amazon cube or something. Just looking for some pointer here. Thanks
I bought the same adaptor from Amazon and I couldn't get it to work. I thought maybe it was because the original Firestick power adaptor didn't have enough voltage to power the hub. So I used a different power plug that puts out 2 amps. This still didn't work. So I read some comments on Amazon and one person said to plug it in firmly then to pull it back out slightly. That did the trick for me. Kind of dumb that you have to do this but what can I say? Its a cheaply priced item that serves a good purpose.
Wicked video solved my problem, I've configured 20 odd 4 k sticks with OTG and 32 gb flash drives, and odd times suffer from crashing and continual rebooting tried everything I know, your comment on the Amazon plug only 1 amp makes sense the stick is trying to pull more power as ther is no fuse it will crash, now using my iPads charger no issues at all many many thanks.
Thanks for posting this follow up video.. I added the UGreen USB hub a few days ago and had trouble with the connection.. After messing around with the connection point, like you said in this video, I was able to get the firestick to recognize the ethernet line and use a wired connection.... BUT, after running multiple speed tests, it is MUCH slower than it should be. The speed via wi-fi was around 120 mbps, the wired connection has been anywhere between 30 and 86 mbps.. I also ran a test with the same ethernet cord into a Nvidia Shield and it was around 400mbps (wi-fi remained around 120)... I'm going to return it and try out another brand. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know.
sir, thanks for all of your good advice, i have a queastion, not concerning this post ,can i put my youtube playlists, that are on firestick, smart tube next,no ads, of course, can i have them converted to mp3 from the firestick, is there an app, local , i could install and use? if not can i install google drive and puy them in my drive to be in files and folders ready to be converted? i want them on my new mp3 player. any and all ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
3 things stopped me connecting the ugreen properly. Pulling the cable out a fraction all 3 of the ugreen lights turned on. The connectors dont quite touch if pressed all the way. Thanks for the video i would have never have discovered this solo. Other issue i found was plugging the ugreen directly into a power socket, and connecting the firestick to the ugreen usb, it only produced 1 blue light no ethernet connection. You have to connect the firestick to the power socket directly and then connect the ugreen to the usb splitter as shown in your first video. Then after a minute all 3 blue lights will show. Seems like a deal breaker if you don't. As you say, having a plug with 2amps is needed. I was using a 0.3 amp plug. Didn't do the job either. Hope this saves someone a headache.
I have the ugreen USB hub and power it all from my TV never had a problem. Strange how things work/don't work lol It is now in my son's room and still working fine 👍
Thanks for this follow up. I got the kit per your first video and it was not working. Followed your suggestions and it was actually loosening up the USB that made it suddenly work - thanks!
Brother - loved the chickens joke. Just bought an OTG cable, a flash drive of 128gb (exFAT) format, plugged this into the stick and not a sausage! It doesn't recognize any external storage. I bought the cable from Amazon (prior to seeing this clip)
Thanks so much for these videos. Watched loads now. Thanks to Andy Russell and yourself for the tip pulling it slightly out of the otg cable. Fixed connection problem straight away. Was just about to fettle it with the lump hammer... many thanks 😁👍
Yay!!!! ... my uGreen hub was not getting power but by wiggling out (slightly) the USB connector voila - it powered up. I had an identical setup and it had the identical fix.
I have the Amazon OTG cable with a usb connection as well as the connection for the Firestick. The OTG does not find the thumb drive at all. I’ve tried most of the fixes I’ve read about. I did get it working sporadically on the Cube, but it turns to 💩 fairly quickly. I took your tip and plugged a nano receptor into the OTG and that works. Not sure why the thumb drive has issues. Restarts, etc. do nothing. I enjoy your vids. Thanks
Thank You! Success! After I worked out some of the glitches It worked fine. Just so if you get any questions. My UGreen USB ports did not work on my 4K, neither did the Ethernet connector. I used the Amazon Ethernet adapter and the OTG cable directly to my 4K and it got the job done. Once again Thank You for this video it helped me work out my issues.
Sorry I have the Ethernet Adapter still not able to connect through the otg cable with expandable memory. By Adapter u mean the square box with the small lead coming off it ?? Thanks Chris
great video always watch your great informations yeah already paid for one Amazon internet adapter and don't do anything for my fire stick 4k max really don't work
Tnx, I use Informer app first. Some sticks say no OTG support, so you have to do the painful ADB app to add memory. Now the fire cube loves extra plug in memory and OTG devices. It also has a bigger power supply.
I had the same really strange issue. I bought the uGreen and OTG cable from Amazon as suggested and the uGreen hub did not light up. I had to pull the OTG USB out of the uGreen hub ever so slightly and then all 3 blue lights came on. If I push the USB all the way in then it doesn't make the blue lights light up So I had the same feature. Thank you for covering it
Been using one from Amazon for a few years it's an OTG multi-usb adapter, that added 32 GB of storage to my 4K fire stick used to use the internet cable with it but now I just use Wi-Fi works great.
I’m using Firestik 4k os 6.7 with the og adapter kit recommended, San disk 128 thumb for storage. Question - storage in my fire shows no external, in stick setting’s application, manage installed apps, all of my applications are on external and show the usb symbol except the damn Amazons that won’t relocate- when ya hover over highlighted apk, on right is details of apk and under storage, usb is listed for all apk’s but read - USB:0B? Why?? Is it not showing and stored data, I have 38 apk’s on external???
ADB Debugging made an improvement when I turned it off. Also, don't squeeze the fire stick as it is delicate in addition to its connections. Another strange thing is where I placed the firestick. For some odd reason my Firestick WIFI signal varied like a TV antenna when moved around. These USB adapters seem a little moody with a lot of room for improvement.
Hey Bub, I'm trying to feed my firestick into my tv's USB port- not power it from there. The reason why is because all four of my HDMI ports stopped working slowly one at a time. Any tricks to keep me watching the tube with my firestick? I'm kind of surprised I'm not seeing more people have this issue, and that more people aren't trying to convert their HDMI plugs into USB plugs. Also, do you have any insight as to why my HDMI ports all quit working? They started out just kind of randomly cutting out which would sometimes annoyingly cause my firestick to reboot. Then eventually, they would just flash and not show the home screen at all. Thanks!
I didn't think you were from Tennessee. 🤓 I am and also am tech-non-savvy. I've been trying to increase my storage with the otg cable since my son gave me the 4k firestick. Can't figure it out in American English or UK English. ES file Explorer shows my USB as usbotg. The up arrow is shaded out. Do you have a video showing installation and how to use all in one?
having the same issue with my org cable, purchased 2 different ones from amazon and still can't see my hdd, will dig out a different usb device to see if that makes any difference.
i just bought the ugreen ethernet usb , at the manual it says that need the driver need to be install before using ,but when i plug the ugreen ethernet at my amazon fire tv cube , so far its working fine without install/download the driver i just plug and play , speed test run so far so good , usb port also so far also smooth.. so my question did i still need to install the driver at my amazon tv cube sir ?
I’ve got 3 4K Firesticks, 2 with both the USB hub and OTG and the other with just the OTG all kit bought from Amazon and no issues with the exception of the 4K in the living room randomly restarting itself every now and then and when running through the process using Remote ADB app I didn’t get the pop up message when I plugged in the USB to indicate the FS recognises it but it’s all up and running regardless.
After trying for hours to find a solution as to why the Aupival ethernet adapter doesn't work , I've come to the conclusion it is simply blocked by the Firestick 4K max. The only way I got to get it working was by plugging a different usb in the OTG cable and then plugging the Aupival in this hub, and then it works like it should. In my case it isn't a bad connection in the usb cable , power issue or anything else. The closed, locked down, laggy interface and ad full device that is the Firestick wants to control what you use and force you to give Amazon even more money. Both are on their way back to Amazon.
Does the increasing storge thing work with all models of firestick? I have the base model, connected the otg cable with a fat32 formatted thumbdrive and nothing, no sign the drive is there. The firesticks all appear to have the same processer.
i have had no problems since watching your video and buying the equipment - thanks ... however is it possible to save apps to a memory dongle to save firestick space and if so can you make a video on how to? ... thanks again
I hope this fixes some issues you maybe having, and let me know what problems you have come across and what's worked for you.
USB Formats - The most common format used is FAT32, but I also found that NTFS also worked to play media.
Im new to all this i haven't got a clue
In the new update Amazon crash OTG USB 😔
Another great video youre a diamond geezer thanks for all your help
Thanks for update mate. Taken your advice regarding the Ugreen adapter. Slightly pulled the connection apart and it now works. Ding dangley doo..Thanks again.

It is the settings in the TV settings for the for the the video resolution fix the Wi-Fi on the fourth generation fire stick cube
Great advice . I began using a brand new firestick about 10 days ago, and my USB hub stopped working. After watching your video, I swapped the USB for one that is over 10 years old, and it is working a treat again. Many thanks.

Thank you!!! I can't believe that little wiggle on the USB actually fixed the problem, I was going nuts! Much Love and Happy New Year!!!
Same for me, neither the hub or ethernet connection worked until I wiggled it out a little.
Me too, thanks for this!!

I was one that previously commented I could not get the Ethernet connection to work. I watched this video and was skeptical. The first thing I tried was to pull the usb part out partway and that worked. Thank you for the tips!
Awesoke to hear Rory. Crazy that works and I too was skeptical 😂🍻
So glad I watch this video yesterday. Just had one delivered plugged it all in it didn’t work. So I done the little pull on the USB bit and worked straight away. I learn so much through your videos cannot thank you enough 👍👍👍
Awesome stuff Peter. Who would have thought that fix would work 🤷♂️😂🍻
I know it’s a weird one.. but I’m so glad you’ve done a video on it and put it out there because I’ve literally just had one delivered plugged it in didn’t work done you little trick works a treat.. can’t thank you enough for doing the little videos that you do m8 TOP WORK 👍👍👍
Having problems with firecube not recognising otg or usb mrmory stick
@@happihibby You shouldn’t have a problem connecting it if you pay attention to this UA-cam video..
Play close attention to when it comes down to wiggling the USB bit and then you shouldn’t have any problems but you may have to restart your device a few times
@@peterbenneyworth6450 yea was my stupidity to be honest but thank you 😀
Just had to get one for my firestick as the wifi decided not to work on it but took me a while to get it working thanks to commentors tips in this video. I took USB out slightly and it came on now have 4K and a steady 92mbs connection :) Used a generic Omivine usb ethernet adapter with 3 usb ports £11 off amazon worth every penny
Have used this hub since your first video about it after ordering it, I've never had any problems with it .
Where you get the hub from and was it a Ugreen hub ? Thanks
@@alanpennington1646 Yes ugreen on amazon
OKAY Thanks
Pulling it a little bit out from the OTG cable worked for me. Amazing, thank you very much.
OMG... That fixed my issue
That video was a definite help, I only recently found your BEAST video & picked up the accessories. Didn't work though.
I gave the cable a wiggle & a slight tug and the blue light came on. Sorted !!
Yeah, i like every once & awhile to give my 'cable' a wiggle & slight tug too!
Could you provide an Amazon link, thank you.
Your fix for the boot problem is what I have figured out also. The Firestick gets stuck in boot or goes into a boot loop. Simply unplug the USB extra storage and it boots up nicely, then plug the USB in again and the Firestick finds it. You are good to go.
In my case my USB hub that was new didn't seem to work but a second type worked perfectly. So exchanging cables and hubs is a really great idea.
quality, i bought the bits you suggested to hook firestick 4k up to the ethernet cable and at first it didnt work...but i pulled the usb plug out a couple of mm and voila, im now connected with greater speeds! top bloke, tar very muchly...
We're legends like Bielsa in Leeds. Great help for the community Adam.
Wow! Wiggling out the Ethernet adapter slightly actually worked, thanks a lot... was literally just about to send the adapter back lol. Have a sub 👍
I have had all them problems you have mentioned in the end it drove me mad and I binned the idea glad you made this lastest video I will try some of your fixes Thanks
Just been sweating at my cable’s and tried pulling usb out slightly and OMG it’s working great thank you 😊😊😊😊
Swearing 😢😢
That's awesome. A crazy fix though 😂🍻
Wow..wiggling the usb connections between the adapter and the ocg cable made my hub work. Dumbest fix I've ever seen. Thanks dude.
Yep this worked for me too but it was too late as I already ordered a power supply for the USB adapter!! This was on the fire stick 4 K
Pulled the usb cable as you suggested and amazingly this worked for me too.
hi mate ive got the ugreen gigabit ethernet adaptor but it wont work with my internet on firestick

Pulling the USB cable out a bit worked!!! Thank you so much!!!
I've been using UGREEN ( 2.0) for almost the last 3 years and never had any problems. Still working great.
5:10 THANK YOU!!! I have a Gen 2 firebox/firecube that eventually needed space but wouldn't detect a usb drive. Switched the debugging and it poped right up.
Amazing...loosening the connection between the OTG cable & Ethernet adaptor worked! Thanks for sharing.

Why do moths fly with their legs open?
Have you seen the size of moth balls?
I had the same issue. I bought a new usb 3.0 Greenline ethernet hub & it would not read the internet signal or a usb drive. I ruled out my otg cable, so that was working fine. Then I swapped out the otg cable with a newer one I had bought previously, then my internet signal & usb drive worked flawlessly!!
Never missed a video of yours..much love from India..

I'm having the same issue with the Firestick still connected to wifi after plugging in the adapter. I'm not home now and just found your video. Will check out all these fixes when I get home. Thanks for all you do. I'll post my results. Cheers!
Backing the plug out a bit did the trick! Thanks 😌😊 so much.
I have an Transpe.ed Android 13 TV stick.
I've bought a otg adapter & plugged into one end of the TV stick USB & the other RJ45 end into my modem.
The modem light's up on that port.( No built in light on the otg adapter )
When I check the settings, on the TV stick only the wireless connection is made. No ethernet connection show's
I've tried pulling out the USB a bit, but nothing changes...
Thanks
I use the very same OTG cable and UGreen USB adaptor and...IT WORKS !
I can't believe it but pulling the cable out a bit helped me out XD. Thanks
What's the largest USB drive I can add to the otg cable to record off my firestick
Pulling out the cord a bit solved my problem. Thanks brother
Pulling the UGreen usb adapter out abit helped me too, so thanks Adam!!
Brilliant stuff John 🍻
Mine also randomly restarts itself so will give that a bash. Sharing is caring 💪
Strange how things work/don't work lol
It is now in my son's room and still working fine 👍
Yeah, it could be what's being run from the Hub. I'm not sure, but a lot have been having issues with power.

Same here nothing works for me even pulling the USB out a bit or wiggling it
Pulling out the usb a little worked for me 👍 also used a 2.0 amp plug cheers
Thanks so much for these videos. Watched loads now. Thanks to Andy Russell and yourself for the tip pulling it slightly out of the otg cable. Fixed connection problem straight away. Was just about to fettle it with the lump hammer... many thanks 😁👍
No problem at all bud and who would have thought this fix would actually work 🤷♂️😂🍻
I do not have developer options on my Firestick
Yay!!!! ... my uGreen hub was not getting power but by wiggling out (slightly) the USB connector voila - it powered up. I had an identical setup and it had the identical fix.
Wow, pulling it out some absolutely worked. Thanks!!!!
Had problems with ethernet connection thanks for the video
Hi got the amazon Ethernet connector and otg cable can't get Internet connection with this ??
@@christopherprice55 You need the Ethernet Adapter too.
Sorry I have the Ethernet Adapter still not able to connect through the otg cable with expandable memory. By Adapter u mean the square box with the small lead coming off it ??

great video always watch your great informations yeah already paid for one Amazon internet adapter and don't do anything for my fire stick 4k max really don't work
Tnx, I use Informer app first.
If I push the USB all the way in then it doesn't make the blue lights light up
So I had the same feature. Thank you for covering it
Pulling the USB cable out a bit worked !!! Thank you
Got mine working after wiggling usb hub in OTG.better quality otg cable needed.mine did work with otg and flash drive but not hub .Big Thanks
Been using one from Amazon for a few years it's an OTG multi-usb adapter, that added 32 GB of storage to my 4K fire stick used to use the internet cable with it but now I just use Wi-Fi works great.
The wiggling it out a little worked. Crazy
I’m using Firestik 4k os 6.7
with the og adapter kit recommended, San disk 128 thumb for storage.
Can I use a USB drive in my Fire Cuve through the supplied Ethernet adapter, with an OTG cable or adapter, to increase memory?
By the way, how do you format to fat32?
having the same issue with my org cable, purchased 2 different ones from amazon and still can't see my hdd, will dig out a different usb device to see if that makes any difference.
i just bought the ugreen ethernet usb , at the manual it says that need the driver need to be install before using ,but when i plug the ugreen ethernet at my amazon fire tv cube , so far its working fine without install/download the driver i just plug and play , speed test run so far so good , usb port also so far also smooth..
so my question did i still need to install the driver at my amazon tv cube sir ?
Where can l buy something to power Ugreen’s Ethernet 3 USB adapter? any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated
