1. Super Mario 64 2. Metal Gear Solid 3. Resident Evil 4 4. Super Smash Bros 5. GTA San Andreas 6. The Legend Of Zelda 7. Metroid Prime 8. The Last Of Us 9. God Of War 3 10. Mortal Kombat
How on Earth did Final Fantasy not even make Honorable Mention!? Not only did it save Square, but it basically defined the RPG genre and created a blockbuster franchise. I swear if zero FF games make any of these lists, I'll have lost complete faith in WatchMojo.
Watching videos like this makes me wish I could go back in time and relive my childhood when I didn't have a single worry in the world. When I could play video games in my pajamas all day, wake up early on Saturdays to catch the Saturday morning cartoons, and play with my action figures for hours. Thanks for the nostalgia, WatchMojo.
My list: Pretty much the top 10 NES games since I don't own a Sega Master System, I did play the original Sonic games though but people are saying those are 4th generation games so... yeah 1 ENTRY PER FRUNCHIZE 10. Battletoads (just for being so iconic and one of the hardest games of all time, and also the Battletoads prank calls ;p But honestly I CAN'T beat this game for shit... maybe one day... maybe one day...) 9. Duck Hunt 8. Ducktales (Duck Hunt and Ducktales don't get along) 7. Punch Out!! 6. Contra 5. Final Fantasy 4. Mega Man II (it was either this or Mega Man III, call Mega Man II overrated but I still like it more than Mega Man III 3. Castlevania III 2. Super Mario Bros 3 (very overrated, when I hear people say it's the best Mario game I cringe. Still, it is the best out of the NES Mario games) 1. The Legend of Zelda
ChristianTheChicken ...... You realize that there were six games of Final Fantasy before Final Fantasy 7 for the Playstation came out... Did you just forget six games?!
Billybo10000MC - The Minecraft Mudkip I believe it might be that in Europe no FF game was ever released before 7, but either way yeah the number should ring a bell.
Contra and Punch-Out to me personally growing up in this era were both in the top 10 games of that time period. I played video games then all the time and there were 2-3 games in the top 10 that not only I have never played, I havent even heard of them.
This video brings back so many early memories. I remember my older brother playing Ducktales for the NES when I was about 3 or 4 in the early 90's. Super Mario Bros 3 and Zelda was an often played game in my household up until the early 2000s. I miss these simpler times. ^_^
10.Mass Effect (Original not the bad sequels) 9.Gun 8.Destroy All Monsters Melee 7.Super Smash Bros Brawl 6.Metroid Prime 2 Echoes 5.Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 4.Halo Combat Evolved 3. Super Mario 64 2.H.E.R.O. (Atari 2600's best). 1. Fallout New Vegas (Yes I fucking love this game).
TwilightVomit TMNT 2 was the NES version of the arcade game. Since the list this series is also containing arcade game, I chose the arcade version since it was the better version.
MY TOP 30 NES favorites are: 30: Wizards and Warriors 29: Contra 28: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest 27: Little Samson 26: Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link 25: Felix The Cat 24: Mega Man 4 23: Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Japan only release) (also known as Samurai Pizza Cats outside of Japan) 22: Power Blade II 21: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero 20: Ninja Gaiden 2 19: The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak (also known as the Flintstones 2 to some people) 18: Low G Man 17: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the first one) 16: Star Wars (also renamed as Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope) (The JVC published one) 15: 1943 14: Dragon Spirit: The New Legend 13: Gun-Nac (the sequel to Zanac) 12: Summer Carnival '92: Recca (BEST SHOOTER ON THE NES/FAMICOM) (Japan only) 11: Demon Sword (also known as the Legend Of Kage 2 by some people) (I think the US version of Demon Sword has quite a bit of differences from the Japanese Version) 10: Double Dragon II: The Revenge 9: Mighty Final Fight 8: Shatterhand 7: Karnov 6: Crystalis 5: Final Fantasy 4: River City Ransom 3: Super Mario Bros 3 (an awesome game, cool) 2: Vice: Project Doom (It has three genres just like the JVC published Star Wars game) 1: Dragon Fighter
No Metal Gear (1987)? That game singlehandedly created the stealth-action genre, and it had the best story of any 3rd generation game. Metal Gear 2 (1990) better be on the next list.
***** Well, the original Metal Gear (not Metal Gear Solid for PS1 in 1998) for MSX2 came in 7.7.1987 and was ported to NES 1988, and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake for MSX2 was released in 7.20.1990 with 100 times better gameplay than in the original, so I'm baffled that they didn't even get a honorable mention. NES fanboys in WM...
10: Destroy All Humans! 9: Spider-Man PS1 8: BioShock 7: Shadow of the Colossus 6: Pokemon Silver/Gold 5: Super Smash Brothers Melee 4: Super Mario Brothers 3 3: Portal 2: Halo 2 1: Tetris In no particular order are probably my favorites.
Final Fantasy, Duck Hunt, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Gremlins 2, Batman and my childhood favorite; TMNT II. Bubble Bobble, SMB and Tetris are great too. I think I would pick Chip & Dale 2 over DuckTales. Legend of Zelda started one of the most over-rated game series.
+Boney4000 what are you talking about? There is no wonder boy 3, phantasy star or other great master system games (hell even pc games), 90 percent of this list was NES.
+Flávio Miranda Silva I must confess I never had the master system or knew anyone with it so I m not familiar with its titles. these are the ones I grew up with and had fun with.
LinkMEP its not the console, its the time, thats a mistake watchmojo made it really works like this... what determines what generation a game is from, is if it was released on a console from that generation at first so, take kirby's adventure, its the second kirby game... the first kirby game was kirby's dreamland, on the gameboy, a 4th gen system since kirby was born in the 4th gen, the next installment can't go back a gen...(like...wut? thats not logical or chronological)
Hey Watchmojo, why the fuck is "Insert Game Here" not on the list? I mean come on you put "insert other game here" in the mentions and "Insert Even Other game here" in the freaking Top 5, what is wrong with you? (I love you guys, fuck the haters)
Tetris, Mega Man 2, SMB 3, very nice! Only suggestion would be to add in some computer games like Turrican, Thexder, or Prince of Persia, but overall nice!
Excuse me, but SMB3 did not "push the NES to it's limits". Games like Enix's JustBreed, Konami's Lagrange Point and Sunsoft's Gimmick! did that. Super Mario Bros. 3 used the common MMC3, which was impressive as of 1988, but later, more advanced games even using the exact same memory mapper came out such as Kirby's Adventure. SMB3 is a timeless classic, but the statement that it "pushed the NES to it's limits" is inaccurate, even if you don't count the extremely impressive late Japan-only releases. Kirby's Adventure alone outclasses SMB3 on a technical achievement level, as do other later releases from Taito.
Zelda is also addicting, all games in this list are also addicting but unlike Tetris they all have a story and a point instead of just lining fucking blocks.
My Favorite 3rd generation is "Super Mario Bros 3" for NES. Even though I played "Super Mario Bros: All Star" for SNES and I always keep playing the third game and it was so memorable and playable.
Best games for each gen (in my opinion. Includes PC games) NES/MS- Super Mario Bros. 3 Castlevania Metal Gear Mega Man 2 Duck Tales The Legend of Zelda Tecmo Bowl Contra Punch Out Mario Bros. SNES/Genesis- LoZ:A Link to the Past Megaman X Super Metroid Super Mario Kart Earthbound Super Mario World Donkey Kong Country 2 Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Mortal Kombat Kirby Super Star N64/Playstation- Banjo Kazooie Resident Evil 2 Star Fox 64 LoZ:Ocarina of Time LoZ;Majora's Mask Final Fantasy 7 Golden Eye 007 Half-Life The Curse of Monkey Island Ps2/Game Cube/Dreamcast- Shenmue Silent Hill 2 LoZ;Windwaker Half Life 2 Super Smash Bros. Melee Shadow of the Collosus Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Soul Caliber Quake III Beyond Good and Evil Xbox 360/Playstation 3/Wii- Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metal Gear Solid 4 Portal Uncharted 2 Bioshock Counter-Strike Source Half Life 2: Episode 2 Fallout 3 God of War 3 Gears of War
I hope to see some of my favorite games on the upcoming lists, games like: Command and conquer: Red alert 2 Ratchet and clank: Going commando Sim city 4 Team fortress 2 Amnesia: The dark descent
Ducktales was great, so was Chip n Dales' Rescue Rangers. I remember some Friday nights if I was lucky I got to rent a game from the GROCERY STORE (that was a thing) and get a pizza. Life was good
Monkey Island is da bomb, I been playing it on my laptop recently, and its amazing, you can even switch to the updated version, updated graphics and now voices, AWESOME.
me, finally someone, i mean, it's a good game, but this shit just have credit for being a classic, doesn't have gameplay, graphics, history, nothing, doesn't look like a game.
I think that Mario 2 should have gotten an Honorable Mention. It was the first Mario game where you could play as characters other than Mario and Luigi, plus each character had their own unique abilities.
You're thinking of Doki Doki Panic. Mario 2 was just that with Mario characters. The real Mario 2 would be The Lost Levels, and that is like Mario 1 on steroids.
***** i loved Mario 2,didn't hear of doki until years later. I don't remember playing lost levels until some years later. Your right though technically, i don't remember seeing doki released in the states though. Either way the game fit for me as a Mario game and the dream ending seemed to make sense.
***** if only my 9 year old self could have imagined youtube. My dad came home with a paper bag, inside was mario 2, he said that cost a 1/4 days pay so play up. To me it will always be a Mario game, put some horns on Wart and you have bowser!
***** Err... third gen wasn't really that good. It's was boring compared to the previous. And got worse ever since, until maybe White or X. The original Sliver & Gold instead of the remakes. They're basically the same game, no real big changes. I like Pokemon myself. But they haven't ever had the same success then they did in the 90's.
Gerry Anderson 3rd Gen was my favorite, and going based off the hype of the remakes, was liked by a fair amount of other people. The remakes of Gold and Silver, look better, have new feature (like your Pokemon being able to be outside of their Pokeballs) and still manages to hold a nostalgic feel for the old Gen 2 games. Also, chasing Suicune, agian, was fun as hell. That's just my opinion though.
***** Well yes it is your opinion. I afraid I just don't agree. There was really no nostalgia with the remakes. It at times looked too different. And more of the same at other times. Being able to walk with your Pokemon isn't very new. And not a major selling point for a "remake". I just don't see why a remake of a game should be on this list. Gen 3 wasn't really ground breaking. Again compared to the previous games. It's not much. Maybe a larger colour pallet. That's it. I don't think it's horrible, not at all. It's just not anything like Silver or Gold. And is more or less on the same level as Gen 4.
The one game I really missed in this list is Final fantasy II. The first one saved Square from banishment, but the second installment actually rocked the world. The story, the ridiculous (as for today) difficulty, and the fact that it actually pushed the FF series into direction we know today are the main reasons why it should be on this list.
monkey island was soooo good back then ;) loved that game i kinda missed the first prince of persia which was 1 of my first pc games ive ever played (at least as an honorable mention)
***** FF...8?!! Lol, there's three better FF titles for the same system. Please check back when you realize the junction system made magic useless and the main characters had the emotions of thin cardboard.
Mario is just a better game. It applies to a larger audience, it dominated the platform genre for over a decade, and is overall a HUGE game with just as many if not more secrets and re-play-ability than LoZ. I love the original LoZ, it is simple a masterpiece... but its hard to say that that specific game is better than Mario 3.
Wow, so much crap on this list (with a few good ones) and not a single mention of Castlevania or Final Fantasy, even as honorable mentions. At least you got #1 right, but still, you guys need to try a little harder in the future.
Great list! I still remember Felix the as a great game! It had the magic purse which granted a good vehicle and it was rewarding beating the game. Also I miss battle toads, butt that game has been on other lists and received the credit it deserved :)
The reason Tetris is really high up there is because of the historic impact it had on video gaming history. To this date it is the number 1 best selling video game of all time because it is available practically everywhere. It brought handheld gaming into the spotlight and revolutionized puzzle games. To give you an idea Tetris has sold 143 Million copies including the Gameboy Bundles, Minecraft has 54 Million and the best selling CoD game MW2 has sold 28.5 Million units. So yeah Tetris is pretty big.
CornishCreamtea07 That wouldn't really matter as it was still released on the master system, but they were inferior versions to the Mega Drive so that's the only reason I can assume why they are not on this list.
Richard Estepp To be fair the way they phrased it Sonic could have been on the list. They looked like they were including all games on Master System and NES plus Arcade & PC games between 1983 - 1990. Sonic 1 & 2 (which were distinctly different to the Mega Drive versions) were released on the Master system. But the games were not the best so didn't deserve to be on the list.
You guys always do this. You put the number 1 game on the freaking thumbnail for the video. Its ridiculous and makes the video Not worth watching. Please stop doing it, it's not cute or anything. Its stupid.
My thoughts 10:Very unexpected but makes sense 9:huh? 8:okay makes I guess you could say that without controversy 7:What? 6:that's only because of the remake 5:well that fits somewhat 4:um why 3:you have to have a guide for that 2:YES!!!! 1:Not better than world but still pretty good
In the Generation 5 list Perfect Dark must be there! I mean Perfect Dark's multiplayer beats the living shit out of the mediocre multiplayer of GoldenEye! GoldenEye is a great game but it's multiplayer is shit
It got very high points in reviews but everybody screams that Goldeneye's multiplayer is the best! Damn it! Perfect Dark is the best in FPS Multiplayers!
The multiplayer in GoldenEye was actually an afterthought by the developers. Once they saw how popular it became, they must have decided to pour more resources into the multiplayer of Perfect Dark. I'm glad they did because even to this day, it's still one of the best multiplayer FPS's I've ever played. There's just so much customization and options.
Wow, no Double Dragon? Outrun or Afterburner. Definitely worth an honourable mention for one of these, how can you have Altered Beast, and not Double Dragon, it was the beat em up that defined the format for a long time, it was also the first game I know of where you could pick up a baseball bat to hit someone.
***** it's not even really that influential. I don't hear Todd Howard or Ken Levine talking about how without Tetris, there'd be no Elder Scrolls or Bioshock.
partieboi37 *blatant sarcasm* ha ha, so funny. *serious* My point still stands. Shadow of the Colossus, Half Life 2, Arkham Asylum, console and computer gaming weren't affected in the slightest by Tetris. Mobile? Maybe, but would that be so bad, having less Flappy Bird and Candy Crush in the world?
MrStGeorgeIllawarra I've played it, done well at it, but the gameplay is too simplistic. Those kind of puzzle games don't belong here. Key word being those, games like Hexic, Candy Crush, and Tetris, so, nobody accuse me of saying Portal doesn't belong here.
Here it is! The entire series!

You should do a top ten Legend of Zelda games!
dose any one else sometimes think that channels like pewds and watch mojo is a robot
wait its been done! Nevermind
Maybe next time don't put the box art of the #1 pick in the thumbnail.
Why is there no first or second gen list
Kirby's Adventure. That was the best NES game ever. Tecmo bowl was sweet, too.
So...not even an honorable mention to Castlevania. Ok.
+Bruno Mantovaneli Yeah, kinda insulting.
Yeah, no Castlevania, Contra, or even Blaster Master on NES. Watch mojo is dead to me lol
@@robertg2690Well, Contra did at least get an honorable mention.
1. Super Mario 64
2. Metal Gear Solid
3. Resident Evil 4
4. Super Smash Bros
5. GTA San Andreas
6. The Legend Of Zelda
7. Metroid Prime
8. The Last Of Us
9. God Of War 3
10. Mortal Kombat
Simons Quest was garbage but the orginial definately deserved a mention. Contra should have made the list! What about Commando!!!
How on Earth did Final Fantasy not even make Honorable Mention!? Not only did it save Square, but it basically defined the RPG genre and created a blockbuster franchise. I swear if zero FF games make any of these lists, I'll have lost complete faith in WatchMojo.
Where is Ninja Gaiden for NES? This is one of the best games of all the history!

*snakee
I've never truly understood why Watch Mojo videos are only ever in 480p.
Copyright, I guess. There' probably more to it though.
They put out 2,3 or 4 vids a day, making it HD would mess up the schedule due to longer upload time
Most likely cus it uploads faster.
Because they would need to find HD footage for all of their entries in order to make the entire video HD.
HD eats up too much space and frankly watchmojo videos don't need to be HD. They're just lists.
- Super Mario Bros. 1,2,3 (NES)
- Sonic The Hedgehog 1,2 (SMS)
- Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers 1,2 (NES)
- DuckTales 1,2 (NES)

C...C...Castlevania?
You know. One of the most amazing games ever made? Not even an honorable mention?
Late Comment but I KNOW RIGHT?
I remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on my NES for hours at a time. I was SOOO happy to see it in first place on this list.
My list:
Pretty much the top 10 NES games since I don't own a Sega Master System, I did play the original Sonic games though but people are saying those are 4th generation games so... yeah
1 ENTRY PER FRUNCHIZE

1. The Legend of Zelda
Castlevania 1 is better than 3
*Grabs Popcorn*
Final fantasy was for NES? I thought the franchise was just for Playstation?
ChristianTheChicken ...... You realize that there were six games of Final Fantasy before Final Fantasy 7 for the Playstation came out... Did you just forget six games?!
No final fantasy started out a Nintendo game then left Nintendo and went to sony Untill the release of FF XI on Xbox.
Billybo10000MC - The Minecraft Mudkip
I believe it might be that in Europe no FF game was ever released before 7, but either way yeah the number should ring a bell.

In no fucking way is Tetris better than ANYTHING on this list
This video brings back so many early memories. I remember my older brother playing Ducktales for the NES when I was about 3 or 4 in the early 90's. Super Mario Bros 3 and Zelda was an often played game in my household up until the early 2000s. I miss these simpler times. ^_^
How about castlevania?
I think the The Last Ninja (on C64) was an epic game that deserves a mention for sure.
10.Mass Effect (Original not the bad sequels)
9.Gun
8.Destroy All Monsters Melee
7.Super Smash Bros Brawl
6.Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
5.Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
4.Halo Combat Evolved
3. Super Mario 64
2.H.E.R.O. (Atari 2600's best).
1. Fallout New Vegas (Yes I fucking love this game).
I think only H.E.R.O is from the 3rd generation the rest on your list are not. =P
I am talking about greatest of all time this video is part one of their series they go to each generation.
If that's the case then well done list! New Vegas is beyond sexy.
I'd say mass effect 1 was the worst out of all of them, just cause they corrected their mistakes afterwards, but I respect your opinion
I feel like Mass Effect 2&3 did fix stuff but it add so much terrible stuff.
It doesnt matter if you like watchmojos videos or not. They always have an interesting comments section
Contra is only an honorable mention?? What the hell!!
LoL all I could think about when they showed altered beast was the announcer saying "POWER UP"
No Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Battle Toads, TMNT arcade version?
wasn't the tmnt game rage-inducing and borderline impossible to play due to bad coding?
irelydontcare That was the 1st console game. I'm talking about the arcade game.
*****
you're talking about tmnt2, i haven't played it but i've heard it's pretty damn good
Yes, I would have totally put all four in this list. Very solid, well developed games.
TwilightVomit TMNT 2 was the NES version of the arcade game. Since the list this series is also containing arcade game, I chose the arcade version since it was the better version.
Nice music transition between the Sega game and Zelda at #3
wow seriously no castlevania? seriously?
MY TOP 30 NES favorites are: 30: Wizards and Warriors 29: Contra 28: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest 27: Little Samson 26: Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link 25: Felix The Cat 24: Mega Man 4 23: Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Japan only release) (also known as Samurai Pizza Cats outside of Japan) 22: Power Blade II 21: G.I. No Metal Gear (1987)? That game singlehandedly created the stealth-action genre, and it had the best story of any 3rd generation game. Metal Gear 2 (1990) better be on the next list.
Thanks for the heads up! No reason to watch this video then. I guess it was dominated by NES games?
This list went up to 1990. Next list starts at 1991, so it missed out.
***** damn, what a travesty
Byobrulez Both their lists seem to be travesties so far.
Sad Blaster Master wasn't on here. Love this series, guys.
I agree with the list, but it's all out of order. No one liked Tetris better than Megaman or Zelda. NO ONE.
Sorry, Tetris > than Megaman 2 or Zelda, at least the Gameboy version
Agreed
00WhiteBlade
IMO Tetris is there mainly because it got bundled with every Gameboy & everyone in the world has probably played it at some point...
I mean I kinda did....
5:02 "oh thanks old man that is very very nice! I can always count on you for helpful and friendly advice" :D
Did anyone notice the trollface at 11:42?
Egg I actually got fooled. Well done
10: Destroy All Humans!
9: Spider-Man PS1
8: BioShock
7: Shadow of the Colossus
6: Pokemon Silver/Gold
5: Super Smash Brothers Melee
4: Super Mario Brothers 3
3: Portal
2: Halo 2
1: Tetris
In no particular order are probably my favorites.
Ya, this list was pretty much ass. I mean, fucking Tetris? Come on...
incredibly solid list, including the honorable mentions
+Boney4000 what are you talking about? There is no wonder boy 3, phantasy star or other great master system games (hell even pc games), 90 percent of this list was NES.
+Flávio Miranda Silva I must confess I never had the master system or knew anyone with it so I m not familiar with its titles. these are the ones I grew up with and had fun with.
+Flávio Miranda Silva nintendo dominated for a reason.
10. Ninja Gaiden
9. Altered Beast (same)

Castlevania
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Mega Man 2 (same)
Kid Icarus
Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap
kirby's adventure is of the 4th generation
Dex the gamer NES is a 3rd gen console. Kirby's adventure is for the NES.
LinkMEP its not the console, its the time, thats a mistake watchmojo made
it really works like this...
what determines what generation a game is from, is if it was released on a console from that generation at first
so, take kirby's adventure, its the second kirby game...
the first kirby game was kirby's dreamland, on the gameboy, a 4th gen system
since kirby was born in the 4th gen, the next installment can't go back a gen...(like...wut? thats not logical or chronological)
Dex the gamer Actually no. Look it up, it's about consoles.
LinkMEP you look it up dipshit
WatchMojo has this impressively consistent ability of getting Top 10 lists right. It's crazy
What?😂
Hey Watchmojo, why the fuck is "Insert Game Here" not on the list? I mean come on you put "insert other game here" in the mentions and "Insert Even Other game here" in the freaking Top 5, what is wrong with you?
(I love you guys, fuck the haters)
What the fuck is wrong with you.Its their opinions
xXMidnightSinXx generally it the way they express their opinion. Its fine to have a different point of view but there is no need to be angry about it
i just said exactly what he did and you question me lol
Nice list and I agree with it, but Castlevania should be, at least, an honorable mention
you forgot call of duty ghost. obviously the best game of the 3rd generation
I see what you did there
It may look like it, but it's not 3rd gen.
ikr, mind=blown
thatzstijn Atleast if it was in the 3rd generation it would be creative and revolutionary for its time.
Patrick Thomson It wouldn't come out back then though, because the originality is pretty much 0.
Obvious Troll is Obvious.
I have always wanted to the The Secret of Monkey Island but never have. Maybe someday I will pick it up and see what makes it such an awesome game
Putting the top pick on the thumbnail was kind of a spoiler
Hope to see some westwood studios games in future 4th or 5th generation videos
How is Tetris at #2 and worthy of Greatest Game of All Time?
It's not the greatest game of all time, it's a contester for the list, it means it can either be on the list or be an honorable mention
Still, the fucking game is about lining blocks. It doesn't have a fucking story and point. It's just lining up blocks.
yet it is addictive, and most people enjoy it, even those who never played any other game.
Zelda is also addicting, all games in this list are also addicting but unlike Tetris they all have a story and a point instead of just lining fucking blocks.
Jamie Zombie There was once a time when video games were only that. Games. No story, just fun. That is what Tetris was.
I loved playing as guybrush threepwood on Force Unleashed 2
The Legend of Zelda above all.
My Favorite 3rd generation is "Super Mario Bros 3" for NES. Even though I played "Super Mario Bros: All Star" for SNES and I always keep playing the third game and it was so memorable and playable.
Best games for each gen (in my opinion. Includes PC games)

Do a list for handhelds!
You forgot the original xbox
Where kingdom hearts
I still play Mario 3 sometimes, I'm 36. I remember when my cousin got it for his 8th birthday, we were so happy. Good memories.
FINALLY he said mario correctly, frekin merio was starting to piss me off
mrsuns10 Bruh, that made 0 sense
I really love the Mario, Gex,Bandicoot, Disney video games.
Yo tetris is not better then zelda. Fact
Very true in no way is Tetris better than Zelda and also the only thing Tetris can really be better than is another puzzle game
I prefer Tetris to Zelda and i prefer Wario's woods to Tetris 😅
I hope to see some of my favorite games on the upcoming lists, games like:
Command and conquer: Red alert 2
Ratchet and clank: Going commando
Sim city 4
Team fortress 2
Amnesia: The dark descent
UMMMMM, what about the first two generations? Us old Atari farts must have our video as well!!
Missile command , Space Invaders .
Ducktales was great, so was Chip n Dales' Rescue Rangers. I remember some Friday nights if I was lucky I got to rent a game from the GROCERY STORE (that was a thing) and get a pizza. Life was good
No ZX spectrum or Commodore 64, American centric as usual
So happy to see Alex Kidd on the list!
There is no way Alex the Kidd is better then Mega Man 2 or Ducktales. It doesn't even belong on this list.
Shinobi does though... Also where the fuck is Double Dragon?
Not a Final Fantasy fan but a FF game should've been on this list somewhere
I loved the Alex Kidd games! I'm glad at least one made the list.
Before I’ve never heard of it rly, I agree
Shinobi is good
Monkey Island is da bomb, I been playing it on my laptop recently, and its amazing, you can even switch to the updated version, updated graphics and now voices, AWESOME.
Wheres minecraft? that game is awesome and its still played to this date.
You're kidding me right?
Stand aside troll, i'm a mighty pirate!
Gmaniac101 its a joke because it looks like 80s graphics
Minecraft is a game from 2009. This list is based on the 3rd Generation of game consoles. Which is from 1983-1990.
***** he was obviously joking. No need to state the obvious
When i was young here in Finland, My best games was Maniac mansion on Commandore 64. :) It was SO GOOD when i was little . :)
Does anyone else thinks Tetris sucks?
I do
doesn't suck, its just a puzzle game and the rest are action games. Its like saying FF7 sucks for being an RPG
me, finally someone, i mean, it's a good game, but this shit just have credit for being a classic, doesn't have gameplay, graphics, history, nothing, doesn't look like a game.
of course you youngsters don't get it
me
The Swedish also knew placing blocks would be a video game phenomenon.
Super Mario Bros 3 is the best game of all time not just this generation.
it's definitely up there
Tetris..."Blockbuster," haha. I get it
I think that Mario 2 should have gotten an Honorable Mention. It was the first Mario game where you could play as characters other than Mario and Luigi, plus each character had their own unique abilities.
Would have had to mention the game that Mario 2 was just a re-skinned version of.
Mario 2 was not actualy the mario 2 XD
WatchMojo.com What version of Contra were you talking about for the Honorable Mentions section?
I wanna see:
Fallout 3
Halo: CE
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Make a their respective lists.
I also forgot:
Pokemon RBY
Pokemon RSE
Pokemon HGSS
*****
Well yes it is your opinion.
Gerry Anderson Well, let's just agree to disagree
"Solstice" is such a gem. Very few people remembers it. So underrated.
IF BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY IS NOT IN THE GENERATION 7 EDITION, I GIVE UP ON YOUR TASTE IN GAMES PERIOD!!!
Just lol...
Pssst it's not that good...
Dylan Koch play Arkham Asylum or Arkham City and tell me its not good.
I have, i have both the stealth segments ruin it, after 2 of them you've done all of them.
But I did play it too the end and man that payoff so wasted
Dylan Koch the story arcs fool, I bet you play a lot of online .........don't you
The one game I really missed in this list is Final fantasy II. The first one saved Square from banishment, but the second installment actually rocked the world. The story, the ridiculous (as for today) difficulty, and the fact that it actually pushed the FF series into direction we know today are the main reasons why it should be on this list.
THIS LIST IS A BIG JOKE
should have written TOP TEN NES GAMES
But hey Atleast some of em are from PC ( monkey island, and king's quest) and Sega ms
(Alex kidd)
monkey island was soooo good back then ;) loved that game
i kinda missed the first prince of persia which was 1 of my first pc games ive ever played (at least as an honorable mention)
So many Tetris haters.. It is a masterpiece and does exactly what games are made for, to have fun,
My list
7) Mega Man 3
6) Contra
5) Ms. Pac-Man
4) The Legend of Zelda
3) Super Mario Bros.
2) Tetris
1) Super Mario Bros. 3
Legend of Zelda probably should have been number one.
I'm sure _Legend Of Zelda_ will get a #1 spot in the "Top 10 Fifth Generation Video Games" list.
***** Oh boy. Another _LoZ_ hater. I'm just going to say "everyone's entitled to their opinion" and quickly run out of the room.
*****
FF...8?!!
***** screw final Fantasy 8 that Genre of games suck ass call of duty Is better
I lived the NES but I can't believe I never played Duck Tales and only now in my older years do I hear how good it was
WTF!!!!! THIS LIST IS MESSED UP. NUMBER 1 SHOULD BE DR.JEKYLL AND MR.HYDE!!!!!!!!
LOL!
AVGN - FAN AHEAD
LOL
Can't lie, downloaded Bubble BOBle a while back on 360 and was hooked to it for a long, long time.
Wow, so much crap on this list (with a few good ones) and not a single mention of Castlevania or Final Fantasy, even as honorable mentions. At least you got #1 right, but still, you guys need to try a little harder in the future.
"Wow, so much crap on this list"
stay off drugs lol
shavp
You'd have to be on something to put some of these on such a list.
@@hawkeye7246So which exact games on this list do you think are crap?
Great list! I still remember Felix the as a great game! It had the magic purse which granted a good vehicle and it was rewarding beating the game. Also I miss battle toads, butt that game has been on other lists and received the credit it deserved :)
Mega Man 3 > Mega Man 2
YESSSSSSSSSSSS
Sure. Just like Mega Man 6 > Mega Man 3
Or Mega Man 8 = Mega Man 3 + Mega Man 5
Or also Mega Man X + Street Fighter = Street Fighter X Mega Man
Fuckin' 6? Really?
you are right!
Megaman 1 > all other Megaman games period :)
Sonic 1 is not even there ??? No way Alex Kidd is better than Sonic 1 or even Mega Man 2 !!!
Don't worry, the genesis isn't part of the third generation
Nomable1 i'm talking about the Master System version of Sonic 1
That's 4th generation.
Sonic was introduced in the 4th gen, not the 3rd
Sandvalanche generations is about consoles, not about years. Sonic on Master System is a 3rd generation game, the 4th generation is Sonic on Genesis
Ahh, memories. Great games from when I was a little boy and continue to be today.
wow sonic not even an honorable mention? trust me when i say im a nentendo fanboy, but why sonic not even on the honorable mentions list?
Because Sonic came about during the 4th gen, though he did have 3 games on the SMS.
Sonic started in the 4th generation in 1991
CornishCreamtea07 That wouldn't really matter as it was still released on the master system, but they were inferior versions to the Mega Drive so that's the only reason I can assume why they are not on this list.
you obviously don't know video games....
Nice list, I would have put punch-out, TMNT 2 or 3, Ninja Gaiden, Blazing Lazers, & WWF Wrestlemania Challenge on my list
You guys always do this. You put the number 1 game on the freaking thumbnail for the video. Its ridiculous and makes the video Not worth watching. Please stop doing it, it's not cute or anything. Its stupid.
Agreed.
My top 5 games:
-Bioshock Infinite
-Fable 2
-Portal and portal 2
-The binding of isaac
-Super star fox
God of War should have been on the list srsly
Agree. Where is call of duty? Where is minecraft, thus list is shit.
DANNY Carry
ikr fuckin noobs cod is the best game
Call of duty is the best game ever!
*****
No God of War deserves to be on the list!!
Obvious troll is obvious...
My thoughts
10:Very unexpected but makes sense
9:huh?
8:okay makes I guess you could say that without controversy
7:What?
6:that's only because of the remake
5:well that fits somewhat
4:um why
3:you have to have a guide for that
2:YES!!!!
1:Not better than world but still pretty good
In the Generation 5 list Perfect Dark must be there! I mean Perfect Dark's multiplayer beats the living shit out of the mediocre multiplayer of GoldenEye! GoldenEye is a great game but it's multiplayer is shit
_Goldeneye_ split-screen multiplayer was the first of its kind.
I get it! But Perfect Dark's multiplayer is just so much better! I played PD's MP for 100 hours in this year but GoldenEye! Only 15 minutes!
ALECtravian96 Perfect Dark is incredibly underrated.
Josh Scorcher is right, Tetris IS overrated as shit
***** it's not even really that influential. I don't hear Todd Howard or Ken Levine talking about how without Tetris, there'd be no Elder Scrolls or Bioshock.
partieboi37 *blatant sarcasm* ha ha, so funny. *serious* My point still stands. Shadow of the Colossus, Half Life 2, Arkham Asylum, console and computer gaming weren't affected in the slightest by Tetris. Mobile? Maybe, but would that be so bad, having less Flappy Bird and Candy Crush in the world?
Only people who can't play it well say that.
***** it's cheap to port, it's not a good game, like they claim.
Great list! I figured SMB3 would take the win. :) I definitely would have put Mega Man 2 and The Legend of Zelda higher than Tetris, though.
where is cod ghosts… trash list
Third generation troll.
Lololol
Shut yo young ass up lol You were probably born in 2005 troll!
Cod ghost fucking sucks 3rd worst game eve.
GamingRanger Found you again Mass Effect 2 hater! I dare say you have good judgement on this front though...
YESS!!
You included Bubble Bobble~
Best. Game. EVER.
