I know this is a bit old, but the simplest way that I've found to transfer files from PC to my iPad is actually VLC media player. It comes with a local file transfer section on the app. You open a web browser on desktop, enter the IP address provided by VLC, then drag and drop. Its super easy and LIGHTNING fast. Transfers multi-gig files in seconds. (Gotta have a fast router though)
As you say, it's very niche. Which means fewer people will buy it. Lower price * fewer buyers = you wanting the dev to go out of business? People want pro level apps on the iPad at laughable prices. And when the Nomad dev, with his non-recurring small price, finds he can no longer sustain development... ?
100%. i bought this app and it was worth every cent. it not only makes the retopo process so much faster, but also UV mapping and baking! i cannot believe people think the asking price is too high :o@@ronaldbell7429
Hi, thnk u for the video, do u think the bake made with cozy blanket can be utilized for videogame baking? or u think it s better work on blender or substance? i would like to have a full workflow on my tablet. Do u think is it possible?
Hi David! Could I ask you a question? After I retopology and bake the high mesh to the low mesh in Cozy blanket what would I need to export to have it in Cinema 4D?
You would need to export the model and the normal map. Once you import the model into in cinema 4D you would need to apply the normal map back onto it.
@@blendragon28 it's amazing and so fun, and SO much better on my arthritis than using a keyboard or mouse. I do retopo on the couch now while watching a movie. It's calming like knitting. VERY unlike any retopo experience i've had. It's so fluid.

Hello, cool vid! I finally got Cozy Blanket! I can’t seem to be able to import any files from my google drive. I have also sent the model to Files in iOS. I have exported from Blender in stl, object and glb. Inside the import screen/folder system, the files appear greyed out. Thoughts?
Glad to hear you go Cozy Blanket! Sounds like you are doing everything correctly. I would guess that the file size is too large. Try sending the "monkey" or another simple privative from blender to see if that works. If it does, you know there is something wrong with your file. If your file is too large, I would suggest adding a decimate modifier until it gets to small file size. Hope this helps...
@@jinloanex8769 I do not have the paid version yet. I would assume you just click export (next to the import button), then where ever it saves to the maps should just be there. I"m not sure what size they would be. If you try this please let me know what you find out. I'm curious myself. Thank you.
@@davidbittorf Once you export, it will just export like the regular export option. and I only get 1 obj. which is the low poly model. For me, I think there should be an option to export the baked map only.
@@davidbittorf, Additional question I watched your video regarding Maya Indie. But my country isn't included on the list, and I really wanted to avail it. What do you think?
not sure if it is on the armor paint side or cozy blanket... the obj exported by the cozy blanket caused issue with armor paint, the mesh got destroyed utterly, but strangely if I exported it through nomad sculpt, it is ok...
🤔 hmmm… I have never experienced that but I also haven’t used armor paint. That being said, if you export as obj it should be ok. Try importing the obj back into armor paint to check it out. Sometime you need to find a button that is something like “single object “ so it doesn’t divide it into a million pieces.
i really need help. i purchased the LITE version of this app and in the “compare features tab” in the store, it says it comes with the save and auto save feature. where can i find the save button?
So I'm confused about the baking part. If the vertices aren't changing from the retopologied mesh from the basemesh but adding the detailing of the higher poly mesh... is that normal baking? If so where is the normal map data stored?
@David Bittorf thank you. I'm a hobbyist but I'll Def have to pick this now. Been making my own normal maps by hand using alphas in procreate. Being able to simplify my workflow sounds amazing
Realize you would need a high poly sculpt to make this work. This program doesn’t do that. You could use something like nomad sculpt for iPad to create the high poly. Then use this to retopo, uv and bake.
hmmm.. I have the lite version and relax is working just fine. Are you holding the button down the same time you are using the pen to smooth over an area? Make sure the topology is messy when you are trying it. If it is clean to begin with it will be tough to tell if its working properly.
@@davidbittorf Oh. Thank you for the reply. It worked after changing how the Pencil selects things in Cozy Blanket. I found an Apple Pencil setting. There's 3 of them. I chose Pencil select. I think, and the bar became available. I have a Mini 6.
