- The Meta Quest 3 is great. If you're thinking about getting into VR then now is a great time. The Quest 3 is a fantastic headset and you can do a lot worse especially considering the price.
It isn't perfect though and I will be releasing a video with reasons NOT to buy the Quest 3 so stay tuned for that.

Hi, just wanted to say always great to see you come up with a Video. Hope all well there with the family. I aim to get a Quest3 close to Christmas, I am just waiting a bit in case the price comes down (maybe).
Got mine on Monday and I can see it's a noticeable step up over the Q2 in many areas as outlined in this video. I was on the fence as I wasn't using my Q2 that much this year compared to the first few years but it's reigviorated my love for VR. Excited to see how updates improve it as Meta is really good with rolling out updates.
Great video! To those with negative comments, he is showing you the reason to buy it. If you don’t like Meta, don’t buy one. A lot of the negatives mentioned can be fixed with software updates.
I got the bobom3 but I’m hoping you review all the straps etc, you did the best job by far reviewing q2 straps.
Quick question mate - any idea what prescription you use with the official adapters?.

Love mine :) But I have noticed that in games that cause the controllers to vibrate a lot, the controller batteries don't last as long as they did with the Quest 2. So I grabbed some rechargeable 1.5v Li-ION batteries :) I noticed, because most day I do an hour in Synth Riders, playing non stop my favorites list of 14 tracks on extreme
Completely agree, the battery life in the controllers is awful compared to the Q2.
Just need some cost effective accessories, for golf and kayak etc.. wish I could pair my Q2 controllers to the Q3 for such games and continue to use the accessories I have !
And hopefully BoBo gives us a better battery or just makes the M3 without the battery. My external pack keeps up .. just so would be happy to pay 35 quid just for M3 headstrap rather than a poor working pro M3

3 Reasons why NOT to buy Quest 3:
1- Too expensive
2- No Exclusive Games yet (that I can already play with Quest 2)
3- Awful internal battery compared to Quest 2
Lol too expensive???? You should look at any other devices that cost 2 times more and they barely have anything compared to Quest 2.
There is no improvement nor downgrade from the Quest 2 to Quest 3
I would also add in bad mic quality, overheats easily, and the radiation form it makes your brain feel weird (never an issue with quest 2)
13th reason : Mura layer addition on Quest 3 .
Would you consider a quest 3 as a pcvr upgrade from an index? I know it doesnt yet run at 120 hrz over link but what are your thoughts?
The downside to the Quest 3 is the battery life, Meta screwed that up. Facebook/Meta ruined the Quest when they bought Oculus.
thats ridiculous to say, they made vr prosper, advertised it to the mass public and made headset’s available for an extremely cheap price because they could afford it, oculus also wouldve never been able to create the technology meta does
@@hpvrstuff3659 Although, with the battery life I have heard a lot of problems where even hooking battery headstraps to the headset would not even keep the headset charged and not only did the headset not keep its battery life, the headset died faster than the external battery would die. I am pretty sure though that the quest 3 might eventually get the battery problems fixed through software improvments or updates because of optimizations, but it could likely end up just being better, more higher end accessories to keep battery life longer lasting.
@@hpvrstuff3659 i disagree because Oculus did make a better product with the original Quest. The head strap was perfect, the OLED screens showed true blacks for dark scenes.
Quest is one of the all time best budget to features device ever hit the market. That alone is huge of what Meta have done but it still lacks application and games which is the only downside to it
@@toututu2993 Yes, the Quest 2 was a price point for the masses. But then Meta increased the price $200 with the Quest 3 and still didn't bring back OLED while putting in an underpowered battery that can't be user replaced. At least they put the IDP adjustment back on the outside. So again I say, Oculus had it right with the original Quest. If Meta fixed 3 things then the Quest would be perfect, OLED displays, a better head strap and a larger battery (preferable user replaceable). Also, a lower price point would be nice.

Now that you gave us 11 reasons to buy the Quest 3. I will now give you 11 reasons not to buy it
1. It has a bad Mircophone quality when compared to the 2
2. Quality Control issues with defective LCD panels and controllers being the common issue
3. The battery life absolutely sucks
4. If you do PCVR you will get the white stripe glitch (not an issue with the quest 2)
5. Passthourgh is grainy and is not clear
6. Overheats very easily
7. Meta support sucks
8. Bugs and glitches
9. Questionable parctices with the meta quest store
10. No eye tracking
11. Appeantly it makes your brain fry like eggs (quest 2 never had this issue) meta may need to recall it
1. I can agree on, but it is fixable by getting an external microphone, and it can even sound better than the Quest 2 microphone
2. This problem is likely being work on, and should be gone at some point, not the worst problem so far.
3. THIS is what makes me really decide if I really even want to get the quest 3 or not, but if it gets fixed, I am 100% getting the headset. The battery life dies faster than the battery straps can, and if 3rd party companies can make better accessories for the quest 3, this can be a solution.
4. Can be fixed through software updates.
5. You're getting what you're paying for when it comes to camera quality, plus it's still a huge improvement from the Quest 2 and Quest Pro.
6. Can be improved with accessories to cool it down, but yeah that's understandable.
7. Most companies have pretty bad customer support sadly, but one of the reasons why it sucks right now is that Meta Support is currently busy because of all the complaints they're getting at the moment.
8. Pretty normal for all Quest headsets, but the Quest 3 should be able to keep up with the rest after multiple software updates and fixes.
9. This will be a problem for all headsets, not really a reason to not get the Quest 3, unless you mean all headsets for this reason.
10. Again, you're getting what you pay for, and even Meta has proven this because eye tracking costs a lot due to the amount of extra cameras and electronics you have to put inside the headset, so this was done to keep the price of the headset affordable, not really a big deal.
11. Also can be fixed by accessories to make the headset more breathable and comfortable, including cooling accessories to keep the headset cool like I said before.
None of those are real issues/good reasons to choose a different headset over this one.

We will see about that @Zed it may be possible that the mic and cooling issues might be fixed via software update. But I am not taking another chance with it until they fix the issues. I still wouldn’t buy the Quest 3 as of now.

For a $500, they should have at least upgraded the battery from quest 2
