A day after TikTok CEO Shou Chew was questioned in the U.S. Senate, Singaporean social media users have called out the U.S. lawmaker for his questioning. TikTok's Singaporean CEO Shou Chew was repeatedly questioned by U.S. Senator Tom Cotton on his nationality and his links with China. Social media users accused Cotton of racism and poor understanding of Singapore.

If Harvard trains such an uneducated rude bully, then the United States' Ivy League university is not so different from the inner city school in the south side of Chicago where troubled and at-risk adolescents go. This Senator named Tom Cotton has the behavior of an at-risk student in inner city school of the United States. The United States' Senators need retention programs that are similar for at-risk youth whose characteristics include emotional or behavioral problems, truancy, low academic performance, showing a lack of interest for academics, and expressing a disconnection from the school environment.

He is not uneducated, dude actually visited Singapore on a political trip and took photographs with Singaporean politicians. The reason he is doing this is because he is trying to setup a narrative that the CEO is biased towards China with his line of questioning which is a low and despicable thing to do. In another part of the hearing, he uses articles written by mainstream media on TikTok as "evidence" to claim that TikTok answers to China politicians. Shows that America is not a rule of law country.

The CEOs main job and responsibility lies in making money for the companys investors founders and parent company. All of which are Chinese. The communist party has control over all of them. So yes the CEO does have an affiliation even if he is from Singapore. The reason he asked if he has applied for American citizenship is because the Chinese don't allow dual citizenship with the west. China is trying to make countries like Taiwan and Singapore and the philippines a part of their motherland. They use social media to influence public opinion. Therefore the CCP potentially has the power to use tiktok to cause riots in USA through disinformation. It is not racist because all business people including white men can have an affiliation by accepting bribes or by being coerced or blackmailed.

This may not be as much about racism as it could be about ignorance. Let's face it, being appointed as a senator doesn't have to come with an IQ test. For example, if I were to ask a Brazilian if they speak Portuguese, he could respond in a couple of ways:
1: Yes I do.
2: I'm Brazilian
A person asking this question may genuinely feel that not everyone in Brazil speaks Portuguese, and ask the question again, to which the Brazilian can choose to answer it again by saying "I'm Brazilian".

If one knows the history of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew and how Singapore operates nowadays, one wouldn´t ask these racist questions. Because the majority of Singaporeans are ethnic Chinese doesn´t mean they follow the CCP. Singapore is located deep in the Malaysian- Indonesian part of South- East Asia close to the strait of Malacca and is multi- ethnic, with Malaysians and ethnic Indians living there as well. Did this senator ask other CEO's about their hypothetical links to the CCP?
It is really cheap how much a question of child- safety on the unregulated Social Media is turned into a quasi ethnic and communist conspiracy. Instagram, X and Facebook are as bad if not worse than TikTok so this is the cheapest way to gain political face: Racist and xenophobic tribalism in order to pass the blame instead of taking your accountability and responsibility as a politician and make laws that protect children on the Internet.
The CCP and the Indian Republic are not best friends but working together in the region is beneficial and in Singapore it shows how well cooperation can benefit Asians regardless of ethnicity. It would be best not to let us all get beaten down by Racist white people but cooperate as Asian brothers and sisters together.

Tom Cotton reveals his stupidity with his questions. “Have you ever applied for Chinese citizenship”. You can’t hold dual citizenship if you hold a Chinese passport. I.e. if you have a Singaporean passport, are Singaporean, have done you national service, you can’t be holding a Chinese passport. This is just ‘Theatre’.
