You're absolutely right, the hardest part is separating the radiator from the condenser. You're the only video i found that actually explained how to do it! Thank you.
This is one of the most useful repair videos I've ever watched. It doesn't even match the exact job I'm doing, but the thoroughness helped me wrap my head around the little details.
Make sure car is on level ground, block the wheels and put in neutral and set e-brake. If you are on any grade sufficient to put a load on the parking paw when you remove the last bolt on the mounts the engine will move. You will have a struggle to get the bolts back in then. If it's already happened, shift into neutral to take the load off the paw and the engine should sit down where it belongs. I learned the hard way.
@jonmccall6439 thanks! After wasting 3 hours looking for a direct answer, I pulled them off and it didn't shift at all. Then I felt like a dummy for worrying😂
@@tiffjohnson2706 My driveway slopes. I didn't set the e-brake so the engine moved back an inch. My eyes bout popped outa my head. Putting it in neutral fixed the problem.🙄
Thanks. Pretty straightforward. The clips are the hardest part. Took me about an hour . Honestly, if you can’t figure it out from this video… You might be better off having a mechanic do it😉
@8:18 is the most important part for you folks that are less experienced. Make sure the parts matches before install. A lot of vendors have crossed up part numbers.
Thank you...i did my son radiator...its leaking from the area you screw in..do i need to keep tighteing it...water is coming out..what did o do wrong..
Damn what a pain in the ass. In my old mustangs I can take the radiator out in 5 minutes lol. Thanks for the video I think the radiator in my 13 impala is leaking.
I have this same exact year and I'm pretty sure mine is leaking as well I've checked my hoses they're bone dry lifted my reservoir inspected it it's not cracked or anything looked at the radiator best I could saw no leaks but as i ran water through it, it gave me the general area and the only spot I can't see is the bottom of it so boom I think the seam on the bottom cracked
The brackets were off mine and I had to tow it and I drove it up the ramp and off the ramp (I had just bought it no tags no insurance and no power steering)
I did this on a 2010 impala and when I removed the motor mounts the engine shifted back toward the firewall about 2". Fortunately I was able to place a pry bar behind the alternator and move it forward when it came time to put them back. If I had known this could happen I would have wedged a block behind the alternator before I removed the mount. Boy when that engine shifted back my eyes were bigger than a cat encountering a pack of dogs! This must not happen a lot because nobody has mentioned it.
The most difficult part of removal is separating the condenser from the radiator. Reach through the front and lift the condenser off, its not bolted except for the lines.
Wait a minute you didn't even show separation of the condenser from the radiator and never mention what size box wrench to loosen transmission cooler lines popping off the clips is easy way to lose them too... thanks anyway!😃
William Coleman unless u go to the junk yard an get more I got a radiator from junk yard an I took the c clips off the transmission lines on every Monte Carlo in the lot in case I would lose 1 lol

I have that same mix and match socket home boy has. Thats a pawn shop guy right there.
3rd video I watched, I like this one the most.
You are an awesome mechanic. You basicly prepped the removal with one hand!
Good video on explaining this process to others on radiator replacement!
Your video is still saving lives out here lol. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. U just made me realize I'd rather pay $100 than to fool with this...
Lol
Not 100 to replace a radiator bud
@@gageearle2356 thats how much my mechanic charged me... bud.
But this was extremely easy

you use a large pry bar and pull the motor forward insert it on the rear of a motor mount bracket and pull forward ! LOL
So ya'll saying don't support the bottom of the motor with a floor jack, right?
Correct, the engine is supported below by the subframe.

you use a pick and pull the clip out then the lines pulls out takes 5 minutes
Out of all the videos yours was more educational without all the bullshit trying to sound proper I appreciate you and your video
Thank you man you made my day much easier appreciate this video & you !
Thank you for your video, and taking the time to try to help others out with information..

Thank you for the video. Very informative and helpful.
Love your mix and match socket set, I have all my sockets in a mayonnaise jar lol

Man when I read the comment and listened to him again I crying laughing
Dudes arms look like Tyson's too!
Do I gotta have something holdin the motor since u took out 2 motor mounts or it’s good
🔥🔥🔥One of the best radiator replacement. For Chevy 3800 engine. On youtube an elsewhere??
Thank you so much bro.The only thing I recommend is use your new transmission line bolt connectors
3:40. So did yo take off the pins at all or did you have to unscrew it simply?? I struggled woth the pins to this day bro wpuld like some advice
Need a small hook and pull, try not to loose the pin
use a mechanics pick comes right out
Very detailed good stuff

A pain in the ass it is … Mustang was much easier
Your really on point thank u so much😊
#Harder ENT does this apply for the SS model same year. Just SS. And could I do it on my own.. or mechanic better? Lmk. Please
Did you have to support the engine with a jack before you removed the motor mount brackets?
No
So did you put anything to hold the engine in place ?
The brackets were off mine and I had to tow it and I drove it up the ramp and off the ramp (I had just bought it no tags no insurance and no power steering)
There are lower mounts as well

Thank you , that was a lot of help !!
Thank you video was super helpful
Didn't even show how to take it out. What size was your adjustable wrench.
Shade tree lol
Adjustable. It adjusts to different sizes. That's why it's called "adjustable".
Thanks for the video
Truly awesome
where can i get a radiator for chevy impala 2010 LT.

Be careful popping out the lock rings, if you loose them then you have to find more.
William Coleman unless u go to the junk yard an get more I got a radiator from junk yard an I took the c clips off the transmission lines on every Monte Carlo in the lot in case I would lose 1 lol
3:11 just pull the clip out of the fitting then the line will slide out !! dont need to upscrew it !!
Big help preciate it
put the fan in 1st before the upper trans line in !
hay where your air tools
You skiipped a big part by not showin how to actually pull it off its more complicated
Replace the radiator and now black fluid is shooting up
Your car is possessed. You have to put it down

Get an Impact driver, it would’ve saved you a bunch of time.....
Why does this guy sound like Norbit lol
Terrible instructions
😂
Not really lol. I watched this video one time and got my radiator out with no problem
Pretty good instruction… Like I said it only took me an hour. If you can’t figure it out by this video, have a mechanic do it😉
Nah it all depends on you if your mechanically inclined.
