    I tried to plant peanut and peppers but because of the weather they died.

    Sorry if you have mentioned it already but what is your soil like? I did a few in pots this winter but might try the soil but mine is heavy clay.

      I started on extremely heavy yellow/blue clay but it's been improving year on year with the use f heavy mulches

      Thank you for your response. My mum has been gardening as far as I can remember and she uses the same technique you use for growing coriander, it must be a Bangladeshi technique 😊. Her garlic never does very well so will definitely use your cardboard technique too. jazakallah khair

      It's best not to plant alliums in the same space year after year

    This was very timely as I have been thinking overnight as to when I should harvest my garlic! Very useful information, particularly about waiting a couple of days after rain… I guess it will be Wednesday now after the rain yesterday!

      That's always been mum's advice, a few years ago i harvested the day it rained a lot ended up going mouldy and rotting

    So glad to stumble upon your channel. I’ve been harvesting giant hard neck garlic since last 2 weeks here in UK. I use the flower heads in stir fry and stews. Delicious and creamy roasted. This year has been very good for garlic. Looking forward to your videos.

    I watched a previous video of yours mate. You were saying you had a slug problem. I see the reason. Your wood edging on the raised beds. It's not really needed, only for aesthetics and it's like a holiday let for slugs. I took all mine up, and like magic, my slug problem vanished. I still get one or two you know but, haven't been slugging once this year.

    Aha a mystery in my garden was the appearance of what looked like spring onions but tasted garlicky. Now I know - last year's garlic left to fester by mistake. Sadly wasn't sure what they were so binned them

      We pick them as we need them, but let some grow on and use the bulbils just like garlic

      I eat the scapes but I want all the energy the plant has to go into the garlic bulb not the production of seeds. I also chop the scapes, freeze and use them like garlic in the winter.

      I like to plant in autumn in free draining fertile soil, so it has time to grow before the cold sets in, that way when spring comes the plant just needs to get bigger rather than sprout. (February is quite late and this year February was very cold)

      But in warmer countries they can grow any time isn't it??

      @@easyandnatural6320 garlic is more of a cold climate plant, there's a sister below in the comments from malaysia that has always struggled to grow it because it's too warm (it needs at least a month below 5c)

      Is there anyway you could put a temporary cover over the top? This won't it's about 1/4 of what i usualy grow, i discovered white rot on a few of my beds last year so had to reduce the amount i grow

      that's a rule people apply to onions, but garlic don't have as many protective layers

    MashaAllah! Lovely garlic! I'm in zone 4 Canada. I planted 210 cloves last autumn, Sept 30 & Oct 3. My scapes are curling. In sha Allah, I will cut them this weekend and harvest the garlic mid July.
