Everything you say is true Monty , my children started using knives very early under supervision , they are now 21 and 19 , Soon you will be relaxing and supervising , while the children do all the planting 👍🏾🙏🏾
I'm using your method this year. Thanks for showing it. My kids are a bit older, but when they were little had no problem with them using knives supervised, in the kitchen and garden. It teaches them how to be responsible. My 14 year old lad can safely and correctly use saws, drills, hedge trimmers and the mower now.
As always great job and suggestion Monty, Sheepy’s Allotment gets loads of cardboard from Bathroom and Kitchen supplier in case you have one near and need more cardboard. Great to see the kids always learning 👍. Thank you for sharing ✌️🇨🇦🐝 safe everyone
First I think it is great that the family is helping and learning. Great info. I am trying garlic for the first time this year. We appreciate what you do.
Another excellent video, Mothin. I have already planted my garlic but I am sure I can find the space on my allotment for another couple of rows where I can try out your method, so that is another job for this week!
I really enjoy your video’s, you present so well and it’s lovely to see you engaging your children in garden growing from a young age. I was actually surprised by this video because I don’t plant garlic where my beans are grown because, as I understand it, garlic is antibacterial, it eradicates bacteria from the soil it grows in and that destroys the hard work carried out by the bean roots in developing bacteria that specifically helps plants to access nutrition from the soil. That, according to generally received advice, is why you wouldn’t use garlic as a companion plant for beans. I can understand that you’ll get a great crop of garlic doing this but will your beans etc. grow well in that area afterwards? Anyhow, I did enjoy the video and I may (nervously) prod a few garlic into one of my bean patches to see if it has any notable affect on the beans grown there next season. Kind regards Bob
One of the common gardening myths is garlic doesn't do well with beans, i have always grown beans and garlic together especially broad beans, whilst others suffer from problems with blackfly mine seem to be fine. i explained some of my methods of companion planting in this video ua-cam.com/video/EO-AuRf52QU/v-deo.html
Asalamoelaikum Brother, Have you tried to grow okra? I live in London and been trying to grow okra with out any success. Jazak Allah for full of information videos.
I have a question, when is the best time to water plants? Also I have been trying to grow cucumbers in pots and have nit been successful. The plant seems to die after the fish leaf appers and it starts to flower whilst the plant is very young. But it doesn't survive 😕.
Hi - I haven’t planted my garlic yet but am going to use your method … I have a couple of questions though! Are slugs a problem with the cardboard? And do you put soil back over the cloves once they are in the holes? Love your videos - thank you.
Slugs aren't really a problem with aliums. If you can see the tops of the garlic some additional soil would be good, I push the clove below the compost layer
10 kilos for 9 pounds 22 pounds for 12 dollars Sorry couldn’t resist, I love the names different countries have for their currencies. Just in a gardening sense over here we weigh in pounds so when you say it like that it tickles me

I love that you are working with your children. You are a great father, role model, teacher.
The best person to teach children vital life skills, like gardening, using tools, like knives, fire, etc is a loving parent.
Well done you.👍👍
Thanks Tony, it's so important for them to learn by doing, rather than just watching
Thank you for sharing , Excellent channel for gardening

The soil should feel moist, check the soil around the neck of the plant as they are succeptable to neck rot

Even in the UK it can get confusing when you buy 22 pounds of garlic for 9 pounds!!!!
Lol, weights, measures, currencies can be really interesting especially on the historical ones
