@Memer Dreamer i think you misunderstand what i'm saying . Andy is one of the few seasoned RC UA-camrs who show quads flying from the third-person perspective . I have not ventured into FPV and for me ALL first-person perspective looks the same. I am fascinated with FPV and the skill involved but several years ago i watched Matt Hall fly his Tricopters and was fascinated by his skills. Having time on my hands now to look deeper into RC ,i have promised myself no FPV until i learn to fly LOS .... Again , Thanks to Andy !!!!
I think I’ll get one of these as a cheap LOS machine. With its low price, LEDs, and iffy camera it seems perfect for this. Nice and quiet but also big enough to see.
YES FINALLY! Love when people recommend learning LOS because it is so much fun and you never know when you might save yourself hundreds of dollars in hardware because the goggle batteries died and you didnt crash cos you know how to fly LOS.
Lovely line of sight Andy, I agree los is just as much fun as as fpv. I have cracked angle mode los, I can zip around flat out. Acro los is getting better I can do slow circuits without piling into the ground. But your power loops, I would not no where to start.

I'm looking hard at getting this drone as my first fpv racer. I dont feel comfortable spending more then 150 bucks on something that will crash alot, but somehow in 2022 most toothpick racers start at $200 minimum. I already have a flysky FS I6 controller and 10" 5.8g fpv monitor. My hubsan H501S GPS drone has so much more to offer for the price, its tough to look past when getting into fpv racing. The bang for the buck just isn't nearly as good as the GPS quadcopters out there. I figure I just need the baby ape pro ($90) , flysky reciever ($15), and 2 batteries ($30).
Can the default camera be changed that comes with the drone? Also can you make a video on how to connect the transmitter and goggles with the drone ? i have fs i6 fight controller

I'm just learning to hover in acro Los whenever I put googles on I end up always higher and just flying around , all practice , think it's a good skill to do both . Imo I'm only learning tho but look at qwadmoover always knows orientation of qwad at high speeds
The vtx is always on so if you are not getting a picture you are tuned to the wrong channel. No throttle means you either didn't arm it or you haven't set up or deleted flip over after crash

Hi I was wondering if you could help me out I bought the baby ape and the motors are twitchy and it pulls to the left and won't take any right in put. Any ideas? And thanks great video
You might have to go in to BL Heli configurator and just reset the direction of the motors, otherwise flash the fc in beta flight. Both BLHeli and beta flight config can be downloaded online. Hope this helps, had a similar problem and resetting the motors did the trick, best of luck and happy flying 😀

I used to do LOS too but I always don't know what to do when quad is far. I can't tell if it's facing me or not anymore. How do you determine the orientation of the quad? Awesome video!
some of it is muscle memory and practice (helicopters are worse) some nice sims like lift off and velocidrone have los now as well as curry kittens free sim. Dont let it get too far away from you and just practice really. before FPV there was only los so iv had a few decades of only flying los. When you loose orientation, and the quad moves to the left, slowly pitch forward and yaw to the left until you don’t see any left/right movement anymore. At that moment its facing towards you, and when you pitch forward it will come back. When the quad is moving to the right when you are loosing orientation, do the same, but yaw to the right instead of to the left. Cheers Andy for the reply, hopefully divimath or hdzero get products out ASAP, defo want to upgrade to this system and my aomway commander v2 goggles will work perfectly with them having 45deg view and 1080p screens etc, its all about cost Andy really because upgrading to dji is just my idea of 5in 6s drone flying, I'm massively impressed with hdzero and it ticks all the boxes and I can use my aomways which I've love, keep the good work going mate with the channel 😊👍
I use 650 mah battery 8 min flight time this is the drone for tight forest flying great and fast buy the cheapest and put the ant cam hd 1200 tvl cam in or foxeer micro 1200 tvl $20 very durable I have crashed over 100 times and keeps on going the original ant cam fried I put a foxeer micro works great and more movement
i wouldnt worry too much about it unless one cell is showing massively different to the others. each charger will give you a different value and each battery will give you a different value

Hey, i was just looking for my first quad. Your review says it's pretty much worth the penny. I wanted to ask tho if you can recommend any budget receiver which will fit into it (not elrs, not r9m - just a standard tx16s multiprotocol)? Second question is that you really achieved 1km fpv with that quad??
Actually one more thing, I've got eachine mooneagle screen, do you think that's okay for learning first quad (assuming I'll deal with los first). It can do out of Los, right?
A radiomaster d8 reciever would probably be the cheapest. I wouldn't trust it's range past 200m but should be plenty to get you going. I'm sorry to say that elrs is the way forward when it comes to range
@@AndyRCchannel yes, I meant screen instead of fpv. Regardless of that particular drone I keep having trouble to get higher range than 300m... I can't tell. Where the weak link is

@@AndyRCchannel I'm from the Netherlands, we use the Euro ;) I bet you can find rice in a kilogram bag (or bigger) for much cheaper, it is the same for potatoes I eat almost every day... If I buy potatoes every other day at 1kg per sack, I'm paying twice as much as the 10kg bag. I know food is expensive, but most staple food you should buy in bulk anyway or you literally pay double for your trouble going to the store every day. I only go shopping once a week, most of the meat I buy goes straight into the freezer and I still spend 50ish per week including fluff I don't really need immediately like three bottles of dish soap for example.
Interesting! Love the 3s 3" drones personally. Plenty of punch and fun w/o having a big scary flying blender to freak my neighbors out with. I was getting a good 3-5 min flights (depending on flying style) on 3s 85c 550mah RDQ batteries using 1207 5500kv motors, 20a esc, and 3x2.5x3 HQprop props. Cool to see another 3s 3 inch freestyle drone!
Andy: The reason very few FPV UA-cam 'personalities' offer LOS is simply because very few of them _can_ fly LOS. This is true of the FPV community as a whole - very few FPV pilots learned to fly LOS first, and then transitioned to FPV. I think there's an unexploited viewership market for you: LOS training.

Hej Andy Please could you help me. I have just binded the all in one flight controller which is New( I think ) with Elrs reciever Build in it the rest is just the same as other boards. Mine starts acting creasy when I arm the thing :( and if I throttle it a bet up then it really goes creasy. can you tell me what is wrong?
I bought this drone a couple of months ago and since then I had PLENTY of problems with this piece of shit. Made super cheap so for that price you get what you ordered. I also bought recommended batteries from darwin fpv that turned out complete garbage. Before even getting it in the air drone parts as vtx, fc , esc and motors had problems that got fix for a high price. First flight was normal but as soon as I plugged in the new battery it started smoking in my hand. Then recharged and plugged in previous battery and guess what, motors didn't respond to my radio. When all that got fixed again for a high price on the second flight with the first battery baby ape drone just fucking lit up and burst in to flames. Super strongly DON'T recommend buying this low quality piece of garbage and spend your money on something else.

id go as far to say a gps hubsan drone is a different hobby than a quadcopter. those components will work yes

I still think the tyro 79 with an upgraded cam is the best drone you can get in that price range. Thing was solid and had some speed and range

that guy is an alien for sure haha. yeah throttle management in fpv is a tricky one its just practice is the only answer

I used to do LOS too but I always don't know what to do when quad is far. I can't tell if it's facing me or not anymore. How do you determine the orientation of the quad? Awesome video!
some of it is muscle memory and practice (helicopters are worse) some nice sims like lift off and velocidrone have los now as well as curry kittens free sim. Dont let it get too far away from you and just practice really. before FPV there was only los so iv had a few decades of only flying los. When you loose orientation, and the quad moves to the left, slowly pitch forward and yaw to the left until you don’t see any left/right movement anymore. At that moment its facing towards you, and when you pitch forward it will come back.
When the quad is moving to the right when you are loosing orientation, do the same, but yaw to the right instead of to the left.

Cheers Andy for the reply, hopefully divimath or hdzero get products out ASAP, defo want to upgrade to this system and my aomway commander v2 goggles will work perfectly with them having 45deg view and 1080p screens etc, its all about cost Andy really because upgrading to dji is just my idea of 5in 6s drone flying, I'm massively impressed with hdzero and it ticks all the boxes and I can use my aomways which I've love, keep the good work going mate with the channel 😊👍

I use 650 mah battery 8 min flight time this is the drone for tight forest flying great and fast buy the cheapest and put the ant cam hd 1200 tvl cam in or foxeer micro 1200 tvl $20 very durable I have crashed over 100 times and keeps on going the original ant cam fried I put a foxeer micro works great and more movement

i wouldnt worry too much about it unless one cell is showing massively different to the others. each charger will give you a different value and each battery will give you a different value

Hey, i was just looking for my first quad. Your review says it's pretty much worth the penny. I wanted to ask tho if you can recommend any budget receiver which will fit into it (not elrs, not r9m - just a standard tx16s multiprotocol)? Second question is that you really achieved 1km fpv with that quad??
Actually one more thing, I've got eachine mooneagle screen, do you think that's okay for learning first quad (assuming I'll deal with los first). It can do out of Los, right?
A radiomaster d8 reciever would probably be the cheapest. I wouldn't trust it's range past 200m but should be plenty to get you going. I'm sorry to say that elrs is the way forward when it comes to range
Are you talking about using a screen instead of goggles for fpv? It can be done but wouldn't reccomended. Any quad that flies can be flown los

I bet you can find rice in a kilogram bag (or bigger) for much cheaper, it is the same for potatoes I eat almost every day...
If I buy potatoes every other day at 1kg per sack, I'm paying twice as much as the 10kg bag.
I know food is expensive, but most staple food you should buy in bulk anyway or you literally pay double for your trouble going to the store every day.
I only go shopping once a week, most of the meat I buy goes straight into the freezer and I still spend 50ish per week including fluff I don't really need immediately like three bottles of dish soap for example.

Interesting! Love the 3s 3" drones personally. Plenty of punch and fun w/o having a big scary flying blender to freak my neighbors out with.
I was getting a good 3-5 min flights (depending on flying style) on 3s 85c 550mah RDQ batteries using 1207 5500kv motors, 20a esc, and 3x2.5x3 HQprop props.

Andy: The reason very few FPV UA-cam 'personalities' offer LOS is simply because very few of them _can_ fly LOS. This is true of the FPV community as a whole - very few FPV pilots learned to fly LOS first, and then transitioned to FPV.
I think there's an unexploited viewership market for you: LOS training.

Hej Andy Please could you help me. I have just binded the all in one flight controller which is New( I think ) with Elrs reciever Build in it the rest is just the same as other boards. Mine starts acting creasy when I arm the thing :( and if I throttle it a bet up then it really goes creasy. can you tell me what is wrong?

I bought this drone a couple of months ago and since then I had PLENTY of problems with this piece of shit. Made super cheap so for that price you get what you ordered. I also bought recommended batteries from darwin fpv that turned out complete garbage. Before even getting it in the air drone parts as vtx, fc , esc and motors had problems that got fix for a high price. First flight was normal but as soon as I plugged in the new battery it started smoking in my hand. Then recharged and plugged in previous battery and guess what, motors didn't respond to my radio. When all that got fixed again for a high price on the second flight with the first battery baby ape drone just fucking lit up and burst in to flames. Super strongly DON'T recommend buying this low quality piece of garbage and spend your money on something else.
