Splinter Cell Conviction probablt has my favorite feeling pistol gameplay. Regardless of your feelings towards the marked executuon system, knowing that my pistol can wipe out basically anyone in one well placed headshot while also being fast enough to take someone out that might have spotted you without the necessity for accuracy makes it far more versatile than any weapon in the game. The fact that you can also mark 4 people to freely execute with stylish headshots to round out an assault on a group of enemies makes the power fantasy hit incredibly well. I miss Splinter Cell. Today, I still understand the love and appeal of them in games, but it also showcases an inherent problem with guns in games. Pistols are self-defense tools designed to help you in the worst case scenario, or give you time to get to your primary weapon. Balance in games makes them super weak most times, a pistol in 9mm does less damage than an SMG in the same caliber, with sometimes even a shorter barrel which would decrease muzzle velocity I.E. damage. So after shooting almost a hundred different pistols in multiple calibers and configurations in real life, I stick with revolvers due to wanting a heavy caliber that is also small to carry. In video games now that's usually what I also use. I wish a game would make guns more realistic, because a pistol can be extremely effective, but only if you're fighting people who are unarmed or who also have pistols. You can beat someone with a rifle, but you need to be lucky, and very good at shooting. Imagine playing a game with such a high risk-reward when rifles can one shot you and you ace them with a pistol lol
I was ready for this to be a video from an average mainstream fps player standpoint, but then came the bullets per minute, hunt showdown and killing floor 2 gameplay, as well as others games I had never seen before. liked the video, and I like your taste in shooters.
I feel like the Sidekick is better in terms of being a pistol, a sidearm. The Halo 5 Magnum was based off of CE's and while I will say that CE is the best game ever, objectively the Sidekick just fills the pistol role better. Because if they add the Magnum to Infinite or the next game in all its glory, it will be in more of a handcannon or even power weapon status in my mind because of how good it is and you can't exactly call the Magnum a pistol or rather sidearm at that level. Give me a magnum and it will be my main weapon, but a sidekick and it will always be as a trusty secondary. A true sidearm.
Gonna mention this, cuz I don't imagine are a lot of people are gonna relate, but I want to shout out the regular pistol from GTFO. Not only is the feel and sound design of every weapon in this game to die for, but GTFO has a unique loadout situation where as a horror game, lower caliber, easy handling reliable weapons that keep you alive like the pistol are your primaries, and heavy caliber, low ammo count, difficult heavy "special" weapons are your secondary. The couple patches where the pistol was the best primary were magical. Responsive and punchy like the sidekick, in a game that treats it like an actual weapon feels downright amazing.
Titanfall 2’s pistols have so much personality to me and I love using them Are you planning on making more of these styles of videos? That intro was Perfevtion
Appreciate you! Dude I miss the smart pistol so much! I’ve definitely thought about some of the other weapon types! I have a sniper picked out already but I’ve got a few videos planned out before I’d do another one of these.
As someone who absolutely loves pistols and has 14k kills with 9mm daemon on mw3, pistols are by far my favorite category when it comes to fps games. The feel of dominaning a lobby with just pistols is by far the best feeling when you know there are better weapons out there.
Pistols are great in Cyberpunk 2077, there is a lot of options and they are very viable weapons, spec into reflexes and cool then dash around spamming it and getting headshot after headshot. Very fun and powerful even on higher difficulty levels. Best pistol in the game is the Malorian Arms 3516, though stupid from a design perspective it annihilates everything.
I hated handcannon's too until I played Destiny (2) PvP (I would strongly recommend against playing it now). That experience made me fall in love with them. There is NOTHING like flying out on the scene and DUNKING on three dudes aping with SMG's and Shotguns with your trustry gunslinger wand. The feeling you get from repeat precision hits causing the poor saps to faceplant the floor like they broke their ankles is sublime.
On the topic of revolvers. Check out some exotic Hand Cannons in Destiny 2 (Hawkmoon, Ace of Spades, The Last Word etc). Another game with great revolvers is Call of Juarez Gunslinger. Most satisfying guns to shoot in gaming imo. Also very nice intro!
Destiny has some BEAUTIFUL revolvers dude! I feel off before I really got into the exotic grind but I’ll watch YT videos of the gameplay from time to time. Gonna have to look into Call of Juarez!
For me it's the KAP-40 from Black Ops 2, it's really hard to beat having a machine pistol that's actually competitive with SMGs in your back pocket. Plus it just looks and sounds good. Good video, I enjoyed using the sidekick while I was still grinding Infinite. Really loved pairing it up with the pulse carbine for some easy cheese kills.
I'm glad to see more pistol appreciation and I hope that this video reaches more people. I also highly recommend the Gunslinger weapons in Killing Floor 2, especially the M1911 and the HMTech-101. The crosshair in KF2 isn't on by default but once you turn it on it feels so good to hip fire the dual M1911s, especially with the Quick Draw skill making it the hip fire sniper accurate. The HMTech-101 is also a solid little semi auto bullet hose with the added utility of an attached medical dart launcher to heal teammates. Heck, even the universal 9mm everyone gets is pretty good against trash mobs and feels so good that when I play Gunslinger I usually end up pouring my leftover dosh in to my 9mm. And as a final treat, dual pistols in Killing Floor 2 have the option to adjust your ADS stance so you aim with your right hand gun in exchange for further off centering your left. The shotguns are also really good, just in general. The Boomstick and Shockgun are considered "meta" for a good reason, but every shotgun that Support has is fantastic. There is a reason why Gunslinger and Support are my highest level Perks.
@@AdonisDeltaYT Ah, right, at 0:27, I see it now. Dunno how I missed it. Glad to know you're enjoying them though. As for ammo, my only advice is to buy more pistols to cycle through. Dunno if that helps or not, but I hope it does because Gunslinger is SO GOOD. EDIT: Say, which games are at 0:23 and 0:39? Thanks in advance.
One of my favourite pistols is the P-9mm from watch dogs 1 as not only is it slick and very cool clean looking but the animation of using both hands for steady fire as you approach or shoot over cover makes you look professional and when you turn and aim the one handed firing animation makes you feel like a real badass and to top it off the gun shot sound is quite satisfying to hear the same goes for the P9 in Legion especially when you give it to a hitman character so then they can do close range gun executions cause then you really feel like John Wick with the way you are rushing in shooting and then suddenly grabbing a dude and point blank shooting him in the gut before pushing him over and popping one in his head
glad to see that people know how cool pistols can be. I highly recommend the game Maximum Action, love going in endless mode and mowing down waves of enemies with just a pistol John Wick style
hell yeah love pistols and hanguns. cod blops 2 was the last one i really played and i strictly used the b23r burst pistol! and in cyberpunk 2077 i was always rocking 3 pistols of each weapon type. i think it started for me with the raffica in mw2. the trend john wick created has been so hype for me the last decade lol
Appreciate you! Try talking someone of your friends to go for a pistol only round/game next time you’re in a multiplayer shooter! Sheriff only rounds in Valo are always hilarious
I still gotta give my most loved pistols to the samurai edge from resident evil and the malorian arms from cyberpunk. The malorian arms is carried by its reload and inspect as well as the caliber and the samurai edge such a sleek good looking gun
@@AdonisDeltaYT glad you didn't know about it rather than just forgetting it existed. It's been my go to favorite gun for a while. Just fast enough to be what I would consider a semi rather than a hand cannon. Honestly best of both worlds
Oh, I'd love this as a series! My favorite revolver was always the Wingman Elite in Titanfall 2. Even back when it was a secondary, you could easily use that shit as a primary weapon. It's a bitch and a half, but it's also hilarious exploding people's heads with it. Especially in hipfire. Especially two people's heads in one shot.
I had the exact same feeling about running around with a pistol dominating a lobby, and when I saw the Sidekick in the trailers. I used to run around in Black Ops 2 with a Tac-45 just because that pistol was satisfying to use. Nowadays, I do the same thing in Counterstrike Source with a P228 on gun game servers. The pistol has just the right combination of damage, accuracy, and capacity for me!
I've always found magnum revolvers the most fun pistols because of the high risk high reward aspect. Due to their low capacity, slow reloads, and high recoil, each individual shot has higher stakes, which makes each shot feels more satisfying. In my opinion, they are the most reliant on pure mechanical skill. I feel like the magnum revolver evens the odds against primary weapons.
I love revolvers way too much at this point. When I did a playthorugh of Fallout New Vegas, I just yeehawed my way through it with a Lucky revolver and medicine stick (I still used the anti material rifle and the riot shotgun but ignore that for now lol).
Destiny with its plethora of handcannons and sidearms! The last word is a standout and there’s even the halo magnum that they added! Destiny has some of the most fun gunplay in general
For me a handcannon has and will always be so badass in my opinion, The deagle will always have a special place in my heart, it's one if not the only semi-auto handcannon to ever exist, The design is imponent and produces fear when faced and it's just so customisable. And what makes the deagle so much better is when it's in chrome.
valid i guess. sidekick pretty much can beat out a lot of guns in infinite if used correctly. but I feel like if we're talking halo side arms the magnum in Halo CE is up there and the Halo 5 magnum was practically the primary weapon
The USP in the new Black Ops makes me so happy, that gun is my favorite, and seeing it in cod in its deserved glory, not tiny, not weak, makes me so happy. Can run it with a suppressor and long barrel to look like Counter Strike, or with the laser and suppressor to look like the Socom from Metal Gear, etc. Only thing I’m sad about is in zombies it’s gonna be explosive dual wield when you pack a punch it in zombies, so idk if I can dual wield it with normal bullets like the five seven in BO2, or run it with a suppressor. In my favorite mode in the game. 😢
Part of this great balancing of pistols in Halo is due to the original design of Halo Combat Evolved that released in 2001 when first person shooters were new to consoles. They made the AR have a huge bullet spray to make it easy for new players to hit something. And gave the pistol a more long-rang and accurate feel. It's a little backwards compared to reality but I see why they designed it like that.
Bro I cant lie, I have to apologize! This video's been in my recommended and watch later for weeks now, ended up watching it today and I regret not watching it sooner! Me myself, style, gimmicks, and challenges have always been my go to in games! From the moment I found the grapple pilot and EPG-1 in Titanfall 2, to the tac-stance and pistols of MW3, It's always been more fun to be stylish! I genuinely could not agree more on the deliberateness of semi auto pistols, the need for quick reloads and the ability to lay down fire at a decent rate without holding the trigger always made me feel like a super spy! Genuinely could not agree more with you on anything... except maaaaaaybe hand cannons! None of what you said was wrong, yes the fire rate is slow, yes the recoil is bad, and yes the limited magazine makes it all worse but to me personally that's the reward, this heavily biased as I am used to the slow projectile low mag of the EPG but the way I like to see it is like a juggernaut or a final boss on a platformer; big, slow, and if I get my hands on you, its a closed casket funeral! 10/10 video, plz do bullpups next
Assault Rifle is almost always a meta and that also rings true to real-life too. On other note, I love Mauser C96 in RDR2. The game also have vital organ hitbox so ocassionally, bodyshot can do OHK, and it's so satisfying getting that OHK with Mauser. It becomes my lucky gun, plus the semi-auto ROF too so I can get follow up shot faster and getting critical hit more often.
For me, there are 3 pistols near and dear to me. 1. The Magnum from Halo 1. Its the only Halo game I've played, but my god, that beautiful weapon has such a satisfying pop to it every time you fire, even moreso landing repeated headshots with it. It helps that Master Chief doesn't suffer recoil from using it making it feel so much better. It was my brothers second favorite weapon (he played a lot of ULTRAKILL so he scored chain headshots incredibly easy with it which he found very satisfying on the Grunts). 2. The pistols from FEAR 1. They definitely work best when dual wielded, but nontheless, their fast firing speed which you could tap quickly, very punchy and eargasmic sound effects, and high accuracy made it so that even by the endgame, I was still using them for picking off small groups of Replicas, or quickly switching to them when my other guns ran out of ammo as they were just so good at finishing a gun fight before the enemy can take a moment to recover and reload theirs. 3. The pistols from the Half Life series. A combo of good accuracy and good firing speed, Half Lifes sandbox to its gunplay made me pull out the pistols for dealing with small fry enemies, annoying little enemies, or sniping enemies from afar that I didn't wanna waste more powerful rounds on. That and the Desert Eagle from Opposing Force (at least when you turn the laser on) was just a beautiful gun. You could FEEL what an absolute unit Adrien was when that things recoil barely affected his accuracy since Adrien was just that well trained with guns, and it was great at taking down even the chunkiest enemies you ran into in a few shots.
Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to like and comment if you enjoyed the video! ☺️

You can beat someone with a rifle, but you need to be lucky, and very good at shooting. Imagine playing a game with such a high risk-reward when rifles can one shot you and you ace them with a pistol lol
The Red Dead house building music while discussing the revolvers is just the cherry on top
I was ready for this to be a video from an average mainstream fps player standpoint, but then came the bullets per minute, hunt showdown and killing floor 2 gameplay, as well as others games I had never seen before. liked the video, and I like your taste in shooters.
what a great video, I loved the montage in the beginning so much I had to rewatch it
Halo 5 Magnum > Halo Infinite Sidekick
Yeah this guy knows. H5 > and it's not even comparable.
Honestly the 9mm Daemon in COD is one of my favorite pistols of the modern FPS era. Even stock, that thing absolutely kicks so much ass
for me, ela's pistol from r6 does the perfect job, best pistol i've felt using
How don’t you have more subs / views. That opening montage was beautiful
Titanfall 2’s pistols have so much personality to me and I love using them
Are you planning on making more of these styles of videos? That intro was Perfevtion
couldnt hit shi in TF2 with pistols xD
Appreciate you! Dude I miss the smart pistol so much!
I’ve definitely thought about some of the other weapon types! I have a sniper picked out already but I’ve got a few videos planned out before I’d do another one of these.
@@AdonisDeltaYT looking forward to it
As someone who absolutely loves pistols and has 14k kills with 9mm daemon on mw3, pistols are by far my favorite category when it comes to fps games.
@@AdonisDeltaYT Check out ULTRAKILL, its pistols are crazy
TITANFALL 2 PISTOLS??? THE X12 FROM MODERN?? All so satisfying.
Halo CE is a gold oldie. That thang has sex appeal
Meant to say Halo CE Magnum. Dont know why I didn't include it in my comment, Guess im just autistic
I am so glad someone else gets me when it comes to pistols.
The fact that I saw a Get to the Orange Door clip has me hooked for the whole vid.
saying revolvers bad while showing an ultrakill clip hurt my soul but I understand what you're saying
Ultrakill revolver is definitely an outlier. I love that coin flip so much!
the video is not 3 hours long, well edited, intresting and genuinely entertaining
this is what we need dude!
Appreciate you! 🙏🏾 Rest assured, I don’t have time to make anything close to 3 hours long 🤣
this is the type of content i love getting recommended
Great vid bro, the algorithm better pick this up
Appreciate you! Fingers crossed 🤞🏾
I’ve played a bit of KF2! It’s in the montage at the beginning! The pistols do feel great, but I feel like you run out of ammo so fast with them! 😩
Thanks in advance.
you should talk about the pistols in The Finals, they all are so satisfying and they can genuinely contend with the rifles in the game
You should make this a full series. Try to find the best guns of each category, i.e. shotguns, SMGs, ARs, etc.
Bruh swear I was watching a popular UA-camr turns out your underrated. well I'm subscribing
hell yeah love pistols and hanguns. cod blops 2 was the last one i really played and i strictly used the b23r burst pistol! and in cyberpunk 2077 i was always rocking 3 pistols of each weapon type.
i think it started for me with the raffica in mw2. the trend john wick created has been so hype for me the last decade lol
Never really thought much about pistols until this video, I’m definitely gonna be looking at them more closely moving forward! Great video!
Just looked up malarian arms and that thing is SICK! I need to get back to cyberpunk now that they’ve patched and updated it. New run incoming
PEOPLE PLAY SHOOTERS WITHOUT SOUND?! (and yes i like people talking about video game guns so go ahead, make more)
I had the exact same feeling about running around with a pistol dominating a lobby, and when I saw the Sidekick in the trailers.
One of my all time favourites is the pimped up m1911 from Battlefield 1 with the extended mag, front grip and Stock.
I haven’t ever really gotten into the battlefield games. Gonna keep on eye on the one that was just announced though!
One game I truly enjoyed using pistols was F.E.A.R. particularly when used with slow motion power. Great video by the way
I love revolvers way too much at this point. When I did a playthorugh of Fallout New Vegas, I just yeehawed my way through it with a Lucky revolver and medicine stick (I still used the anti material rifle and the riot shotgun but ignore that for now lol).
Feel like this video was made for me, I ADORE pistols in games. Faves are the USP, Deagle, and the Unica.
0:38 Get To The Orange Door mentioned! Love that game!
Combat evolved pistol will always be the best for me.
Destiny with its plethora of handcannons and sidearms! The last word is a standout and there’s even the halo magnum that they added! Destiny has some of the most fun gunplay in general
damn only 850 subs? need more. you deserve it, this is good content
dawg that intro montage was hard as fuck.
Somebody at Bungie tweaked the Magnums damage numbers right before launch. It wasn't intended to be the powerhouses that it became.
Hell yea i wanna see more of this with different types of weapons
For me my favorite pistol is the m1911 from battlefield 1. That was the good old reliable gun. Also the peacekeeper revolver was my favorite too.
I don’t know how to explain it but the pistols in the watch dogs games are really fun and satisfying (more so for 2 and 1 rather than legion)
We came for the conversation but stuck around for the Sidekick ❤absolutely unstoppable pistol
Halo CE magnum my beloved
cyberpunks malorian arms 3516, and hitmans silverballers are my personal goats of gaming pistols
dropped the hardest pistol edit and thought no one would notice
ultrakill marksman: hold my spare change
That was a badass montage
It wouldn't be a complete pistol montage without clips from Equilibrium
cyberpunk has an amazing sort of pistols and its the go to for my stealth builds 99% of the time
Good ass vid bro keep up the good work
Appreciate you! 🙏🏾
I love using pistols in games and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one
Assault Rifle is almost always a meta and that also rings true to real-life too.
On other note, I love Mauser C96 in RDR2. The game also have vital organ hitbox so ocassionally, bodyshot can do OHK, and it's so satisfying getting that OHK with Mauser. It becomes my lucky gun, plus the semi-auto ROF too so I can get follow up shot faster and getting critical hit more often.
I also remembered playing Warframe long time ago using starter pistol so often because it's doing better damage. It feels like regular 9mm pistol too.
You could FEEL what an absolute unit Adrien was when that things recoil barely affected his accuracy since Adrien was just that well trained with guns, and it was great at taking down even the chunkiest enemies you ran into in a few shots.
god i love halo infinite so much, it's probably my favorite halo game of all time because it's so damn fun
