- A short piece with Patrick Troughton, the second Doctor, prior to a showing of Revelation of the Daleks on the NJN, and Patrick pokes fun at Colin Baker after exiting the Tardis!
This is just prior to Troughton appearing at the Trenton War Memorial... - Розваги
Imagining Colin Baker's response is hilarious.
"Miss Piggy? Miss Piggy!? MISS PIGGY!!?"
*angry face, dramatic zoom, cliffhanger screech*
"Non-fat milk, non-fat MILK, NON-FAT MILK?!?"
*TARDIS dematerializes*
Colin and Patrick were such a fun double act; I had the honor of meeting both of them in in 1986 when they were touring with the Doctor Who costume/prop exhibit. One of my favorite memories of that day was Colin showing Patrick a gift a fan had just given him - "Pat, look... look... (Switching to a sing-song Nyah nyah tone) I've got a present! I've got a present!"
Pat Troughton was my favourite Doctor. Bless him.
Sadly, this was his last appearance in t.v. till he said his final outing in the summer which he recieved his 3rd and final heart attack. We all and still miss you Pat.
Was this in 87?
@@therestorationofdrwho1865 this has to be between 1986 or before March of 1987.
I hate to quote Tennent, “He Is My Doctor”!
Troughton says it's been '17 years' since 'The War Games', which would be 1986.
Yeah me too. Bless him.
Patrick: Miss Piggy?!
Colin: DO I LOOK LIKE-?!
Troughton called the Midatlantic like a second home. I’m so touched.😙
Loved this guy who never seemed to age.
Pat's renaissance in America now seems miraculous to a species of British fan desperate for anything in the 1980s, where Dr Who was dying a death. And even today there are forces that are after it. The man who ensured its future had every reason to celebrate and what we have left is a testament to his talent and his influence on the future of the series.
Best doctor
Happy 100th Birthday Pat!
Miss Piggy? *smiles gleefully*
Love Patrick
Patrick was handsome full stop!
Holy smokes - I saw this live on NJN and the next day did indeed go see PT in Trenton. I even got to be on stage with him for the costume contest. He acted as "applause meter." Didn't appreciate how special that actually was at the time... I literally haven't seen this clip since then.
You lucky so-and-so! :-o
"No, no, it's past me bedtime!" LMHO
I saw this live! And recorded it…but I guess I don’t need to hold on to that anymore. Thanks for uploading.
Always keep a backup. Maybe you can digitise it
Patrick looks handsome with a beard.
Patrick always looked handsome
His beard looks great!!!! I always wondered why the Doctors never could have a beard????
I wish I could have met him. I heard he was very nice, and funny.
22 March 1986. I know because they mention Troughton is at the Trenton War Memorial the next day, and a quick Google search tells me he was there on 23 March 1986. This is almost exactly a year before he died.
It's great to see this - I'm not sure I'd ever seen a clip of him out of character.
Love that their both dressed as the Seventh Doctor 😂
good interview with Patrick,
New Jersey Network! This was my station for _Doctor Who_ throughout junior high and high school, and the premier network for _Doctor Who_ in the United States. They did more to promote the show in the US than any other channel in the country. I've always been a bit envious of Eric Luskin for the number of _Doctor Who_ celebrities he had the privilege of meeting. He and a crew even traveled to England to produce a documentary on the making of the Sylvester McCoy story "The Silver Nemesis".
i love how their dressed the same! i think this interview is hilarious
XD lol... i never actually got to him yet in my watching of every doctor who episode because i had just started but my god.... XD this guy is awesome!
Patrick always had great hair.
I remember watching this interview when it originally aired.
I don't remember seeing it when it first aired, but I must have, because I was a faithful viewer of _Doctor Who_ on New Jersey Network, and I distinctly remember Troughton talking about how his beard length signified how long he had been out of work
PATRICK WE LOVE YOU! :D x Can't believe he called Colin Miss Piggy....lol LOVE it! :D
Are You Being Served was made in the '70s and in colour, Troughton's Doctor Who's were all b&w and made in the '60s. That's why they've gone and AYBS still exists. All the '70s Doctor Who stories also exist. An enormous number of b&w programmes from the '60s have also gone forever.
Matt Maloney A couple of Jon's early episodes were missing in color, but the color tapes have since been found or b&w tapes have been remastered so that all of his episodes are now back in color.
Even colour episodes of shows got junked by the BBC. A number of Third Doctor episodes on survive thanks to American fans recording them onto Betamax.
@@DS9TREK Yes, you're right. A lot of pre-1974 colour episodes of Z Cars have been completely wiped. Sitcoms seem to have fared better for some reason, for instance all the episodes of Some Mothers Do Ave Em and Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads exist from 1973 on their master tapes, and all except three episodes of Dad's Army survived. Doctor Who was also lucky because it was sold abroad, so copies were made onto 16mm film and many of these were found at BBC Enterprises when it was audited in 1978. So although the colour tapes of many Pertwee episodes were wiped by the BBC, they did at least have black and white copies, which was better than nothing. That's why stories like The Ambassadors of Death, Inferno, Terror of the Autons, The Daemons etc survived as black and white copies and were eventually restored to colour when technological advances made it possible.
Ah Jamie!
hahaha, he still is the same even though he left the show. the same old comedic doctor.
@b5904 Good observation, but I see more of Tom Baker and Peter Davison in Tennant. Matt Smith reminds me alot of Patrick
Colin Baker was the Doctor from 84-86 so somewhere in there.
That 80s hair.
Oh my god... He looks like my grandfather... *squee*
Loved that he called Colin Baker Miss Piggy. He was the fattest of them all, He could never say "Now when I say run you run" lol
What's uncle Rico doing interviewing the Doctor? Luckyyyy!
oh me beard!
I see Patrick in David Tennant's brilliant but comedic performances as the Dr..
Miss Piggy ha ha ha
Miss piggy 😂
what year was this interview?
1986
I think the guy was a little rude to Patrick
