Tom makes everything sound better.Just that great voice of his.Like I've said elsewhere I did meet him.He's great as the 4th Doctor but kind of average in real life.I don't think that's his fault just must be tired of every time the phone rings its not a new acting job but tell us about Doctor Who.

This man has never rubbished Dr. Who, and while he may have had issues with JNT which would have influenced his decision to ditch The Five Doctors, he has had nothing but love and warmth for the role and fans. Lovely guy and unquestionably the definite article.

I spent 15 years working with probably hundreds of actors and voiceover artists making radio ads for a living. I love working with actors anyway as they're often fascinating characters when out of character and some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I had the pleasure - no, joy - of working with Tom on 3 occasions. He's one of the funniest, warmest people I met during that decade and a half, but your grammar has to be impeccable!
Tom Baker is that kind of person you can listen to for a long time without getting bored.
Also, seeing the picture of Tom with Lis Sladen once again makes me realize that some actors have left us way too soon.
He’s 84 but still looks in good shape and most importantly, his incredible voice remains unchanged.

Considering how secret his appearance was, it's unlikely many people even knew he was there.
Hes the only one I'd be genuinely interested in cornering for a chat. Probably because he's the one I grew up with so I'm a bit biased but anyway I reckon he knocks all the other incarnations out of the park. Might have been a bit of jealousy or awe kept the other Drs at a distance.

Tom Baker is a fine, fine actor, and had substantial roles in several big films, but was still a real working man. When WHO came into his life, he was so genuinely appreciative and happy. It shows! Thank you, Tom. Ya done good!

@Evil Doctor PorkChop Yeah, not enough people have watched Pertwee as the Doctor. Baker is considered a legend, and rightly so, but Pertwee was bloody excellent as the Doctor.

It's impossible to not smile watching this marvelous man speak. About anything... let alone DW! What a genuine and graceful presence.
Tom's story of how he became the Doctor is fascinating and very funny.
What I love about Tom Baker describing his time as Dr Who is that he doesn't shy away from saying "I craved the attention" or "I did it for myself".
He's not afraid to sound selfish because naturally anyone would be in his position, but would disguise it by acting very humble.
Tom is a very honest person.
I still hang on his every word and I always will. Even with so called real life he's a fantastic storyteller

As of the time of this comment this video has zero dislikes, as it should be. Who could possibly dislike Tom Baker? Even with as many years as has past since his run, Baker's Doctor is still the face of Doctor Who. When asked to picture Doctor Who most people will think of Baker in his trademark long coat and even longer scarf.

Tom may have not been The Doctor when I was a kid (I grew up on Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy) but he is my Doctor, my favourite Doctor. His first season with Sarah Jane is amazing and when Louise Jameson comes in as Leela it gave me some of my favourite episodes (Robots of Death and Talons of Weng Chiang) I hope to meet him soon and tell him how much better his Doctor made my life ❤ such an amazing guy!

It was fun watching the Tom Baker years recently during my Doctor Who marathon. So sad when I got to his last episode even though I also like Peter Davison.
It's a shame that Baker's final season got the lowest ratings of his run. ITV had waged war on the BBC's light entertainment and drama output by importing expensive and flashy American shows. Doctor Who ended up against Glen Larson's "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" which at the time must have seemed like watching a high budget sci-fi movie when compared against Who's low budget wobbly sets.
Brilliant and delightful, how could I poosibly forget that?
