But having been a manager of data analytics and now a senior business intelligence engineer at Amazon, I've learned a lot and I'm excited to use my experiences to help you navigate your career path. I hope this channel gives you the clarity and motivation to get started!

@@agathakang awesome, looking forward to it🎊 so sweet of you to reply
I build automated analysis tools in the financial sector. Did the Advanced Analytics course at General Assembly 7 years ago. Make twice the national average, fully remote w/ big 4.
Totally worth it but I love to learn, so I might have an unfair advantage.
I am currently a highschool student and I am considering data science as my field of choice. I have already researched about the technical aspects of the job and liked what I read so far. Of course, I have taken a programming courses in my school and excelled at them. If I work in Data Science for the rest of my life and do a decent job, what is the absolute highest amount I can reasonally expect to be paid? Some websites like glassdoor state the average senior data scienist salary to be around $135k CAD, but I would like the opinion of some people who have/are working in the field for a long time!
Please elaborate on why you left the consulting job? What are the advantages and disadvantages between the 2 jobs?
I was thinking that as consultant you would make more, which I believe you said that. Currently, I partner with HR executives for the purpose of leadership selection and development. I’m a licensed psychologist so I have training and statistics. My idea is to learn data analysis to be able to provide more value to these HR executives for predicting leadership outcomes. What are your thoughts?
I’m so glad I found this channel! Your videos are so inspirational and have helped me a ton🫶🏼 Thank youuu
So happy to hear my content helps!! ❤️ thanks for watching!
Any ideas about when the data analyst job market will free up a bit? Competing with others that have been laid off with 2-3 + years experience has led me to get exactly zero interviews.
Being in tech, I'm still seeing companies trying to "do more with less". The market is cyclical so I'm hoping hiring will happen soon again
Great question
I am a midlevel analyst, and I was wondering your thoughts in automation? I have been playing around with GPT advanced analytics, and I am quaking in my boots!
What can you advise a new data analyst based in Africa?
Exceptional video and alot of value. The only thing that scares me about data analytics career is learning sql without having a computer science degree.
sql is super easy to learn. people are scared of it because its a "programming language" I guess but its so simple... especially if you're very familiar with excel... that's my opinion tho
@@MikeJones-ql3db 💞Thank you so much Mike for sharing with me your experience on SQL. I am also battling Long Haul COVID which has impacted my critical thinking and reasoning skills plus more which has been hard to skill up consistently. Some days are better than other.
I’m currently bachelor at a Big Data Statistics, I guarantee you sql is very easy to learn, in a few months you can learn pretty everithing you need to work with data
@@davidedamico7201 thank you so much on your encouragement to learn sql. I really appreciate it.
Hey! I talk about how I learned SQL without a CS degree in this week’s video. Like everyone said, it seems overwhelming at first but with practice you will get it. I recommend you try as it’s a much easier language to learn and CS degree is not required
❤
Omg thank you so much for these information! I am going to be a Junior this year taking statistics and concentration on data science. I am also planning to choose a similar path. I had a question about the visa. Were you an international student or are you from US? If you were international, could you tell me how you got your visa approved? I am sorry if that sounds vague.
Wish I could help more with the visa process but I'm not as familiar as I'm from the US. I'm glad the information in this video helps though!
Are you learning generative ai also?
Yes I am! It is one of goals to learn more AI skills this year
