If you use arc, you can use cloud strike + an arc rocket. But yeah, hit 8mil dmg on a clear with my warlock, my hunter clanmates shook. Ngl, the rotation was Giga clean and took some luck in things going right for the team. Also LOL on the only class item being paired with stag, the day before that run (4ish days ago) I got my first class item with stareater despite all my farming... but it has hoil, its fine
I’ve been using cloudstrike + hothead with the new Hazardous Propulsion exotic Titan chestpiece. Just make sure you’re using thruster over a barricade. The damage isn’t game changing, but it’s serviceable. I hit 5 mil without the roll on my hothead being anything special.
I did 6 mil. easily with euphony, and cataphract (with shitty roll), 2x strand surges, highly recommend this combination also I would consider crowning duologue from solstice with impact casing, reconstruction and bas it’s basically strand apex… Some changes in fragments, aspects and artifact are required for maximum output…
Hey, I played with you the other day when I was also grinding out witness cp's. I wasn't fully good at my damage practice yet, but I pretty much got it down. Whisper is also a very good choice, does the same amount of damage in a single phase, and is an excellent choice for warlock as well if you can get behind the skill gap of never un-adsing. No surges, barely any radiant, and no prismatic, and whisper was hitting 5.2 mil in a single phase(with star eater Nova of course). So for Warlocks, I personally find that an overall better option, but definitely harder to pull off. I just need more ammo drops lol.
Tbh stag + star-eater is a pretty nice combo for solo play. Perhaps not as good neutral play as osmio or hoil in the left column, but still a decent option for soloing dungeons, gm’s, etc.
Can you try high ground persuader with baitnswitch cascade edge transit rain of fire for somg of flame healing support and high damage. You seem to know the dmg phase pretty good and could probably come up with a better rotation.

Literally the only reason Hunter is even relevant is because of still hunt. Without that gun the class would pale in comparison to warlock burst now. Stag will allow you to survive the dark rays from the Witness. One dark ray with full health

You can go a bit slower. We always have over a minute left going to damage so take a bit of time to build your transcendence.

why explosive light over Bait and Switch?
You lose enough dps with the swap to primary that the extra 5% isn't really worth it. Plus you'd probably have to proc it twice per damage phase.
