I love Lama Tsongkhapa. This is just an amazing teaching, full of great, practical advice on how to start our very first daily sadhana (daily Tantric meditation practice).

In this video, I have deeper understanding of the importance in Tibetan Buddhism to follow lineage practices. The story of Shakyamuni made a prediction about how Manjushri would later emanate as Tsongkhapa is amazing, it's hard for a non-Buddhist like me to understand why people say Manjushri and Tsongkhapa are one and the same being at first. The prediction was before thousand years.
I have always heard about Ganden Monastery, a place which every Buddhist want to visit at least once during their life time. "Ganden", also known as "Tushita", the Joyful Land that Tsongkhapa went after being parinirvana. I found this symbolism is beautiful, like we as a human are giving a chance to experience Tsongkhapa's energy on earth, at Ganden Monastery that he built. While Tsongkhapa current is living at "Tushita", to remind us follow the path of enlightenment.
I feel sad for Rinpoche when he talked about his mother did not talk to him for 20, 30 years since he chose to practice Dharma. Its a painful journey but he learnt to stand strong for his belief along the way. It's believes that the Dharma seed has planted in his mind for many life times, so he could carry Dharma in this and future life to benefits more people.
The quote I like in this video, "Whatever you feel instability in your mind, come from lack of transformation in deeper level."

Man, I can't even begin to imagine what all Rinpoche must have endured over the years - and probably will never be able to. I just feel thankful that I had the opportunity to learn all this. Then I think of so many other people in Dharma too; having to balance between their practice, mediate and help people and still try to bring Dharma to them while at the same time doing their own work...must be like, insanely difficult. Really, so very much so.

The story about the gathering in L.A. was truly wonderful. I attended one of these in the 1980's as a member of Maezumi Roshi's White Plum Asanga. It was not far from or center on Normandie so we all walked over together. I'd like to believe I was there when this happened 🤣. It could be why I left the Zen tradition and now have such a strong connection to Je Rinpoche's Dharma today.

There's that conundrum - in which you feel torn between two very different worlds. One is vague, yet far more true - and the other, the one which we are in is just horrible due to so many temptations and expectations which are seen as normal. Some people say that the drive to 'succeed' in life is actually good - which, from the pure point of view means doing a lot of negative things or embodying a negative attitude is very scary. Compromise is reality, but sometimes, compromising feels wrong.
I really feel happy for people who are connected to the sangha - and those who choose to be there happily. Dharma centers like Kechara should grow and grow and keep growing :)

This is what we called samsara. The moment we are born, we are bound by the material world. Thank you for your support towards H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s videos. Kechara will continue to grow and spread the Dharma in accordance with Rinpoche’s advice and teachings 🙏 🙏 🙏

Perhaps not all the Gurus and Centers in America charge but I think Tsem Rinpoche is trying to point out that there is a culture of charging for the teachings given. On top of that, Tsem Rinpoche is from America so he will very well know about this. I also think his statement is meant to let his students know how fortunate they are to receive the Dharma free of charge. Please don't take it the wrong way.

    • @palmo9823

In Asia people donate to temples and dharma centres but in the west this is less common, so Western centres have to charge for teachings to make up the difference 🙏

I tried Tsongkhapa but I found that my Tsongkhapa prayer was talking to me, Assume you try to convert your selfish tendances into taking all depreciation and sickness as lord Atisa explains would you want to hear others doing your efforts. No you would want to get sickness and the bad guy so that others would be virtuousness and goodness. Also you do not want any one into your awareness of breath.
