Behind the Carol: The Full Motion Capture Experience - A Revealing Feature-Length Picture-In-Picture Mode Viewing Mode Captures it All! - Розваги
Jim Carrey seems to like playing Christmas haters, he's played the Grinch in 2000 and Scrooge in 2009
This is art on its making. Criminally underrated "Christmas Carol" adaptation!
Legendary Brox Motion capture for this was a stroke of genius! My personal favorite version.
Good news: it's one of my favorite versions.
Bah Humbug with underrated. It is the better film version of Charles Dickens story.
underrated? the movie make millions.
The 1984 version with George C. Scott is also very good.
I would like to see a side by side comparison
IAmNoahFlores where do I find this movie. What is it?
IAmNoahFlores me too.
Same
IamNoahFlores Same.
Corey Messick But it has a Disney intro?
I would like to see the whole film like this
You can on the blu ray, you can watch the entire thing with the motion capture in the corner as the finished film plays.
SAME.
Get the Blu-ray and stick on the 'Behind the Carol' feature where it will give you the choice to either watch it picture-in-picture alongside the actual film or the entire motion capture footage on its own. There's even an option to watch it with Robert Zemeckis's commentary track.
Me too
how did Jim not laugh the entire time making this face?!
It must be exhausting to keep his mouth like that 😂😂😂😂
And to stand like that. Jeez. Must be painful
This is truly amazing Jim Carrey is truly amazing actor
I thought Jim's version is the best Scrooge ever
vicki smith He was good but the one I will always remember when I was a kid was George C Scott
He wasn't as good as George C. Scott. At least that's just my opinion.
Love love love it!!!

The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007) and A Christmas Carol (2009) are truly masterpieces created by an incredible director that should have been got more credit for such work. Zemeckis is for sure one of the greats in the film industry within the last three decades.
Why is this movie became so underrated?
In my opinion, the best ‘A Christmas Carol’ adaptation to date.
Jim Carrey was really good in this one, he played Scrooge exactly as he was in the book. Unfortunately, people were put off by that because we're not used to see such a big caricatural portrait played totally seriously. I don't think it's an accident that the most beloved portrayals of Scrooge are the ones with a more naturalistic take on the character, such as Alistair Sim in Scrooge and Micheal Caine in the Muppet's Christmas carol.
I remember watching this movie in theaters with my dad, I was like 9 years old and I remember hugging him because I was really scared of the ghosts, good times :(
Jim Carrey: The best actor in this era
Easily the best version of A Christmas Carol
I give credit to all the actors, that body wear looks so uncomfortable, and I thought Jim Carrey would break character, I’m so used to him being silly, but he does excellent. Thumbs up.
If Tom Hanks was able to pull off multiple roles in The Polar Express, then Jim Carrey can do equally the same for A Christmas Carol.
I would love to be in the mocap suit once in my lifetime! It looks like so much fun. And it seems as though they've improved the technology for kids to use, not just for adults.
there actually quite fun!
Damn! Jim Carry is a fantastic Actor....
This is amazing. Now those are some damn good actors, to pull of a performance with all that stuff on wow
WOW!!! this is very interesting to see the film this way, this shows that just because it's motion capture does not mean that the actors did a lesser job while acting out their characters. Let me also add that as a huge fan of the book and story this films is easily one of the best adaptations.
As much as I could like the animated film, watching this made me think it might've been so much better in live action or just shot and edited like this.
damn I thought the same thing!!!
The Who Editor yeah that’s kind of why this movie was the final nail in the coffin for fully mocap films. They just weren’t really making enough money to be worth the expense of producing them and when they looked too real people asked why they weren’t just live-action and when they looked too cartoony people asked why they weren’t just animated and a lot of times people just thought it was creepy. Now mocap is more commonly used for individual characters that add to live action scenes like Smaug or the dolls in Welcome to Marwen.
I would totally watch the full movie like this, and I would love to see the workflow from the captured footage into the animated scenes!
I miss when movies were made like this. It's such a cool concept.
So fascinating seeing how they created the film. Seeing the behind scenes where they pretty much have to use their imaginations and have very little props to help them. I am amazed that by how this acting combined with technology can make something so amazing. This adaptation is definitely one of my Husband’s and I’s favorites now for sure.
Oh my god i've been witing to see that in years!
Wow, I didn't realize making a motion capture film takes so many suits, damn
Really puts into perspective all the hard work that went into this
Jim looks so cool in this
I loved this version of Christmas Carol its awesome imo
Oh my god, how does he do it he's brilliant if i was with him during the motion capture I couldn't keep a straight face
Oh gosh!! Jim is the best actor in the world in my opinion!!! How he's acting!!!! Godly level!
Wow! I’ve wondered about this for years.
The maKing of?
This was the most accurate depiction of the book I’ve ever seen
Jim is such a legend
love this version, its by far the best version ever made. I cry everytime I watch it. The Scrooge character before his redemption reminds me of my wife
7:59 is oddly satisfying tbh
Colin Firth was Fred?! No wonder he sounded so familiar....!
This and Muppet Christmas Carol are my two favorite adaptations of the Dickens classic.
I love this movie more now
I would love to see the the last scene like this - with Scrooge running in the town being happy ...
Must be very hard to act in such conditions.
One of my favorite Christmas-themed movies.
It would be interesting to see the rest of the film like this, this was fascinating!
Es tan brillante y el corazón que le ponen a esta película
I want to see the scene with Marley's ghost
Kristin S. -
Me too. That would be epic
I do too
So do I
I could watch the whole movie like this. Its awesome!
A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous over actor!
A Christmas Eve tradition in our house for the past 6 years and every year going forwards 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻
My all time favorite version of my favorite story. Such masterpiece!
Thank you so much for sharing this video! Amazing to see this process, Jim Carrey doesn't get the credit he deserves. Such a talented man. Happy Christmas all! 🎄🎁🎅
Amazing!!! Such an underrated movie!! 💯💯🔥
Pretty good results for an entirely motion capture film. And I ended up really liking the film too so pretty good
Amazing, how difficult it had to be to record like this
great acting and great movie
It’s quite amazing to watch this, had no idea real people were involved in making the characters.
I want to see the whole movie like this
Something about motion capture is so fascinating. Obviously Polar Express was a childhood watch during the holidays. I love Jim Carrey and perhaps I’ll watch this adaptation and not remind myself that I watched Mars Needs Moms multiple times.
all professionals. and including zemekis and his crew. all artists. i am standing clapping.
I wanted to keep watching. This was amazing!
Robert zemickis truly did revolutionize visual effects
This is so cool!!!! This deserve a real film!!!!
Fun fact: the young guy is Daryl Sabara aka Junie from Spy Kids
Thank you For uploading this
This is so cool. I cant get enough!!
Why didn't they just do a live action?! It's so good.
One of my favorite movies
AWESOOOOOOME!!!! i wish i could see jacob marley scene like this.
Amazing amazing amazing
this video is masterpiece!!! these actors are excellent
I would've burst out laughing if he was staring me down with that face lol, especially 4:10.
Marvelous acting
This is the best version I've seen
He's amazing
Merry Christmas !
-Good Afternoon !!
Watching this after seeing the film, it is truly amazing how they managed to produce it. It must have been very hard for the cast to act, with the special motion capture make-up and equipment around them. A Christmas Carol from 2009 was very good in most parts, faithful to the original Dickens material. I just think it was too reliant on Jim Carey, not only Scrooge, but also the ghosts of past and present. Bit too much ego there.
WOW, this is cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fantastic job, everyone!!!!!!!!
Fantástico!!!!!!!
Cool but seeing Jim like that with an angry face it's a bit scary xD 😂😂 also this reminds me of Mars needs moms at the end bit they show this behind the scenes too
The real of acting!
WHO VOTED THIS DOWN!!
It's called a dislike here at youtube. Downvotes are reddit things.
Thank you so much for sharing this, its incredible! My top fav movie by Robert Zemeckis. Amazing actors!
incredible
Essa atuação de Jim Carrey é excelente, lembrei do documentário/filme que ele fez JIM & ANDY, IMITANDO ANDY
Amazing ❤
Seeing this just amazes me 😄👌
Fantastic
This is great!
This is amazing!
Great movie.
Someone has to admit it, but Jim Carrey would be the perfect choice for a live action Scrooge right?
I’m pretty sure motion capture like this is still a thing so this art is definitely still gonna stick around
Excelente captura de movimento!!!
I hope the video of the full motion capture experience in its ending will be uploaded. Can't wait to see Jim Carrey putting up a happy face from Scrooge reforming after the visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
So cool to see a behind the scenes of an animated movie!
Great!
I want to watch the whole movie like this now lol
Their efficiency has improved. Monster House had the actors essentially in a room where the walls and ceiling were made out of a grid of cameras.
Nice technology and role play.
Is that Daryl Sabara? I found out he was in Polar Express after looking for Polar Express Behind the scenes.
I wouldn't make it into the film because i wouldn't be able to contain my laughter if Jim was staring at me like that.
He is the best Scrooge i think I played the caracter it is an amazing caracter to play
