Wow- This is a very good production with original lines and little twists throughout that make it stand out from the pack... And the acting- especially by Richard Hilger as Scrooge- is first rate! THANK YOU, and Merry Christmas to all.
I saw this show in 1990 or ‘91, when I lived in Minneapolis. I was about 9 or 10 years old, and in that version there was a huge crash of thunder when Marley’s ghost entered Scrooge’s room. It scared the heck out of me, and an even younger kid in the audience started crying and begging to go home. Anyway, I love the scene when Scrooge was so excited to propose to Belle, and she rejected him. I’ve never seen that moment portrayed as a refused proposal before, and that adds a lot of weight and disappointment to the scene. Thanks for posting this great production!

IT'S SO GOOD THAT LITTLE PRODUCTION COMPANIES KEEP THIS GREAT STORY ALIVE FOR US TO ENJOY.
This is genuinely one of the best adaptations I’ve seen.
Totally!! 😀

Seeing one of the solicitors being deaf and mistaking Scrooge for Marley and Cratchit for Scrooge made me chuckle.
Oh, poor Scrooge! The scream he gave on seeing his own name
on the tombstone! You could really feel the anguish in his voice!
So different than the more recent versions! I'm surprised to see that this was taped way back in '81!
I was wondering about that. This isn’t the same as the version currently being licensed that she adapted.
I wish they would make this play portrayed by anthropomorphic animals
