I recently bought a Blazer EV and a new Silverado in the same week. I would not buy a truck without a V8, fairly simple. The Blazer EV has also been the biggest POS I have ever owned, currently talking with an attorney.

Again, I Keep saying that if you want to sell more trucks. Get back to a basic truck. Let the average working person modify their own vehicles. Or just let them have a basic work truck with a standard transmission and windows and seats.

Insurance companies will have the final say on EVs. If their customers can't afford the premiums, or the insurance companies refuse to insure them, there's nothing anyone can do about it.
I have a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV and pay $276 for six months. Just more lies from the oil companies!
@@paulstough2995 I don't know the specifics of your circumstances, but I just renewed my homeowners insurance policy. Among several pages of legally binding conditions, was a new advisory (threat?) about what would happen if l put a lithium powered bike in my home / garage. I will not be surprised if my policy next year includes EVs.

I'm currently trying to find a good deal on a 24 silverado with the 3.0 duramax but I'm not paying 50-58k for a half ton, I'll be patient and wait for the crash

@@iMurk903 I'm just searched for these and i'm seeing a crap ton of these on cargurus listed for 39-40. LTs and RSTs. Set your filters to "NATIONWIDE" "FUEL TYPE: DIESEL" and sort it priced "Lowest to Highest". There are LOADS of them posted for 39-41.
That gmc crew truck is very good looking. I'd get that over ford or the other competition just on looks. The price is just too much.

I went in to buy a new SUV. One I liked was $126,000.oo! I spun around on my heals and headed for the door.
I maintain my vehicles and keep them in perfect condition. I’d rather put that $126,000.oo in the stock market. In ten years I’ll have more than double the money rather than a ten year old clunker. New cars are the road to the poor house.

Overpriced crap. The EV is a fad. I want a 3500 Dodge ram single wheel, with manual transmission. Four door, eight foot bed. Is that too much to ask? Oh yes. And manual knobs on the dash, no distracting TV screen.

Mother still drives her 2015 compass with over 250,000kms on it with zero issues and loves it....she keeps up on maintenance and hasnt had any MAJOR issues with it just the usual suspension parts and general maintenance.i never understood why ppl hated on them so much there great vehicles....the ppl who crap on them either never owned one or only seen and heard from ones that were owned by ppl that dont actually care or maintain there vehicles and treat them like crap

Truck pricing has gone insane. My friend bought a BRAND NEW Sierra Denali HD in 2015 for $56k. Now the same model truck is $90k+….who can afford that?
Percentage increase on sales is relative. People don’t want EV due to cost & range.
The real purpose of the EV with limited range is the government limiting the mobility of the people. Same with the degradation of air travel, train travel. Easier to control the sheep when you can fence them in.
I still drive a 02 Dodge 1500 with the 5.9 mag. Still running strong with a rebuilt trans. Appreciate your updates on the crazy market sir!
I find it difficult to believe that not even one single person in the government, or even one manufacturer ever realized that it took the oil and gas industry 100 plus years and countless billions of dollars to create the infrastructure for ICE vehicles.

Where are the REAL trucks? 2 door, 2 wheel drive, bench seat, V8 engine, 8 foot bed. The sort of thing that people used to use as pickup trucks. You could carry three people in them, and a huge amount of stuff in that 8 foot bed. This 4 door, 4 wheel drive, 4 bucket seat, 4 foot bed GARBAGE is pretty much completely worthless as far a truck goes.
EVs are a terrible match with a general purpose vehicle in the western US due to distances, and even worse in or near Western Canada, due to distances and temperatures.
For an urban grocery getter, they would work (at half the price), but you need to be able to charge at home for them to make any sense at all.
For a pickup truck, driving across Alberta? If you buy an EV, you've failed basic math.
Ronnie Dahl has an excellent YT channel about all things related to four wheeling....yeah, he's from Australia, but the same basics apply to anyone in the U.S. buying an EV truck. Especially a 4x4, and in the Western half of the country. Complete, major, total mistake. EVs are limited range urban grocery getters. Period. Even then, I wouldn't have one as a gift. And I'm Green. EVs are about as “green” as Ben Carson....😂😂😂😂

A Ram dealer called me yesterday. Offering 16,000$ off. No payments for 6 months. So the truck would be 54,000$ for a 2024. But I’m still not convinced about our economy to purchase one
Sounds like a solid arrangement but what spec is that and I agree, future can be volatile so buying should be based on a strong projection and if future finances are not certain, then there is a risk.

My home did not cost as much as these trucks, my home brand new was $83,900 dollars, sorry but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a truck that will wear out and depreciate. My home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with 2 car garage.
Sound like at the right time. I bought my 16’ Sierra 5.3L for $34000. No it’s not a 4x4, but I don’t need it or the maintenance. It looks just as good as the GMC’s I’m seeing here.

In the electrics, EV's are not going to fly.
Price is one thing because they are making them too technically electronic.
But the other factor is there are few charging stations for long trips. Other than TESLA's charging stations that have worked well,
The after market charging stations either dont work, wont take your money, won't let you on the app or are at reduced charge rates, if they work at all. It's a disaster.
The hybred, like the car the VOLT was, run on battery, in the city, run on the gas extender on the road. It gets 300 miles per about 7 gallons of gas folks.
How did Mary Barra decide to kill the VOLT, then again GM killed the EV1 as well. They don't seem to like electrics or cars that were working well.
The car that will advance will be the hybred, built to perform like the VOLT DID. It is the only one that makes sense.
The EV's well ROT IN THE LOT just like the over priced new vehicles of ICE fame.
They need to sit down at the thinking table and work this out or they are gonna be losing dealers, and when they happens, they are done.
I drove pickups for decades. They just keep getting bigger and bigger and for what?? Most people that daily drive a truck dont really need it for TRUCK things. And now they are in the 60k range and up? Hell no! And gas is $3-$4/ gal ... ?? What? And they are putting 4 bangers in full size trucks? What????? Hell to the oh hell no!
All these over $100,000 dollar trucks, they can keep them I will stick with my 2023 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 4x4 that was overpriced at MSRP $34,000 dollars but I purchased it out the door with trade in for $14,000 dollars and paid it off in six months and is now paid in full.

The crew cab is so large that all you can get is a 5 foot bed and still not have a land yacht. At that point with such a short bed, you have in essence not a truck but a family car that is missing a trunk lid.

what are you smoking man? there is nothing wrong with the compass aside from it having the name jeep on it...there very reliable and cheap to fix, my mom been driving her 2015 compass since 2015 with ZERO major issues. And i know alot of other ppl who have them and are happy with them....the ppl who hate on them have never owned one or did no actual maintenance to maintain them

I spend about $400 a month in repairs for my 2006 Powerstroke. It's still more affordable than a new truck. Eventually it will be a new truck again. I'll keep driving it.

Marry B was always and remains a DEI hire. She has entirely and intentionally set EV goals that were never realistic. As a Tesla stock holder, it was obvious she wasn’t being honest. And Tesla has enough problems as it is. There cars are way to expensive to buy and have insufficient range. They are expensive to repair and hence insure. You’re not really saving any money, but buy whatever you like.
Well I’ve currently have a 24 trailboss with the 6.2 gas coming out of a 23!Trailboss with 3.0 diesel-even after 3 months thinking big mistake-fuel mileage went from 28 to 17 to 18 on a good day-diesel pulled better with very little shifting-example pulling 3500 lb load home with on good hill both manual mode with 9th gear diesel wouldn’t shift down 6.2 drops 3 gears and now running at 4000 rpm’s-than there’s that cylinder deactivation BS that I can feel plus see the tach dancing around so the work around is to keep it in 9th so it doesn’t do it-by the way the mileage was keeping it in drive so 10th gear was available
I have been a gm car/truck owner since I was 17 years old, it makes me SAD that I don’t want , nor can I afford any gm trucks anymore. I live really close to the northern Ontario imaginary line ( Novar Ontario ) I’m not sure if a EV is going to be reliable in cold 🥶 weather, so I’m not going to be a Guinea pig for GM . The prices are really unrealistic for the average Canadian. I’ll rebuild my 1968 K10 4x4 Chevrolet 😊
The Compass still really leaves me dumbfounded. Seems that it competes with the Subaru Forester, which starts around 30 grand US, and the Forester is one of the top 10 most reliable vehicles. The Compass is sure not. 😂

I got a one owner 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 w/Crew Cab & Short Bed & 5.3 Engine for like $33k I think it was before taxes & extd. warranty. Had 91k miles December 2023.
I wouldn't buy a brand new car/truck.
Just remember that all those bells and whistles at extra is some else to.break in long run. Maybe most folks don't care, I keep my truck a long time.

I bought a Chevy Bolt EUV 2023 and canceled my truck order. I kept two of my gas powered pickups. I’m waiting for a new electric Tahoe.
I work at the plant that makes those hd sierra and silverado. We were supposed to have extra week of during Christmas for retooling....today we find out that gm wants to cancel the downtime due to high demand. These trucks are so awesome I can see why they sell so well.

I think it's more that they started putting four cylinders in full size trucks and getting away from the V8. And the prices are about double what they should be. There isn't enough technological advances since the early 2000s to make the price worth it just because you put Ford 20-in screen in there don't make the price double.
But the Hemi has a fantastic reputation and is the best modern V8 engine. I didn’t know the hurricane is going to be an inline 6. That makes me a little more happy about it. Still prefer the Hemi though

I think your pricing problem has more to do with Canadian taxes than the actual products. That baseline GMC can be bought for around $40K in the US
