Ford not so much. Always something. I drive GM trucks and love them. My 2024 ZR2 with LZO DuraMax best one yet!

I used to work the assembly line for GM and i can tell you straight up they don't care. Their EXACT words during a meeting were "As long as the vehicle looks good inside and out to the customer that's all we really care about". I was shocked when I heard that. these new cars cost so much but are so cheaply put together its not even funny. I'm slowly switching my fleet back towards 90's vehicles there is a reason they are still around almost 30 years later

Love your method of going around the tire like that. I ended up using that myself not long after watching this Hope all is well and keep up the great work!!
We were out shopping and someone had a yukon die in the middle of a busy intersection. There was a decent slope - so I jumped out, told her let's find the neutral switch get the thing rolled away. 5 minutes later and SHOCKED to find out there is zero easy way to put these newer GMs into neutral. I ended up getting the thing to start and barely run and got it out of the intersection. But very, very surprised that you can't put a newer GM into any sort of neutral mode.

Just so you are aware, even tho you have an actual shifter, it is still electronically controlled. The shifter in your traverse is not connected to the transmission at all, instead it is connected to a module which then tells the transmission which gear you selected, just instead of using buttons. It is using a shifter.

My 2017 Silverado 2500 Duramax with 80k miles just had the same problem. Same part (fuel pump control module) went out. It's on nationwide back order and no new ones are available. Shop found a used one in Missouri and had it overnighted. I ordered one just to have a spare. No telling when I might get it.
You all are lucky. All related to the software but an easy fix is a reboot like your computers. just reset the computer by disconnecting the power. Fix for all lock-ups. These issues are also with the new hummer EVs
Never realized drawbacks of electric shifters, reluctant now to buy a truck with one. Tow Driver was great also but mostly had a hard time towing Teslas & Amazon Rivian Vans - same Issue! Appreciate these Guys, not an easy Job. Dangerous too!
This is not only a safety issue for the owner of the truck, but a safety issue. The people towing these vehicles all the extra time spent on the side of the road increasing the chances of something happening with all that traffic whizzing by. Dangerous!
You gave me an idea to try on my 2024 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss 4x4. My question was can I put my transfer case in neutral without starting the engine. I can! I think it may work the same with this truck also. Hold the Start button, make sure its in 2H, put it in neutral, press the 2H button 5 times within 10 seconds, the display should show N for the transfer case indication. This only works for 2 speed transfer cases, GM does have 1 speed transfer cases that do not have neutral. Sorry if I told you something you already know. Great video!
owned a 19 fully loaded gmc. The tranny went out around 30,000, 5.3 motor went out at 32000. Traded it in for a 21 Ram, 80,000 miles later and zero issues.
Well done sir !! Being a heavy truck tech i have to do road calls quite frequently. I know how crazy insane it can get out there trying to stay alive , I fortunately get to work with some great tow truck drivers in my area , be safe out there brother !!
I've got a 2018 GMC sierra..I had no trouble with it yet But all my buddies have with theirs..Mostly transmission..So..I'm keeping my fingers crossed 😀
its crazy these trucks don't have a N override I have a ram 1500 and it has an electric transmission but it has a trim piece under the headlight knob that pops off and you pull a release tab that's connected to the transmission to force it into N in case of dead battery or situations like this.
Yeah my challenger has the same thing. I always thought this was normal and didn't realize multiple manufacturers are not installing them. Wow, just wow.
I have a 2021 silverado z71 5.3l the worst year of the gm trucks ! So far I have been blessed with this truck have no problems, it has 76,000 miles on it.
We criticize Toyota because the turbos are failing prematurely on the new Tundras. Besides that, Toyota has had quality control problems since 2009/2010.
At least toyota takes care of their customers. Total engine replacement. Look at all the recalls for ram, gm and especially Ford. Tundra has always had the highest resale value of all full size trucks.
@@Davidami48 That's all brand name bias that stemmed from them being what was the most reliable manufacturer. Sure you can get a total engine replacement - in 2-3 months time. Can you truly have a vehicle down for that long? If I was in a State that had the lemon laws, you can sure believe that I would file for suit on that.
My theory is that vehicles have more electronic (crap) and less to no manual items so dealerships may be able to make more money with repairs? Just my opinion.

owned a 19 fully loaded gmc. The tranny went out around 30,000, 5.3 motor went out at 32000. Traded it in for a 21 Ram, 80,000 miles later and zero issues.
Lucky, tons of recals on rams, 1.5 million trucks and 160k trucks in canada for brake failure just this month lol
Thank you so much for that tip! I'm going to use it the next time I have to pickup another newer Chevy. Learn new stuff every time I watch.
Glad you learned something new!
as a current sierra owner, i appreciate your opinion regarding GM’s issues. i’m seriously looking at Ram or Ford for my next truck.
I’d go for Ford with5.0
I've got a Ford, they have issues too. The 10speed tranny has been a nightmare.
@@davelips this is true. It is same tranny as GM, just different program in it. GM 10 speeds are rock solid. So Ford screwed up the programming.
Don’t expect them to be any better
Well done sir !! Being a heavy truck tech i have to do road calls quite frequently. I know how crazy insane it can get out there trying to stay alive , I fortunately get to work with some great tow truck drivers in my area , be safe out there brother !!
I just saw where they had left over 2023`s , like this , that were priced at $104,000. No wonder they`re not sold!
Excellent controls loading and unloading the truck man!
Talented and very concerned about this customer property.
I've got a 2018 GMC sierra..I had no trouble with it yet But all my buddies have with theirs..Mostly transmission..So..I'm keeping my fingers crossed 😀
better cross your toes too Brah!!
its crazy these trucks don't have a N override I have a ram 1500 and it has an electric transmission but it has a trim piece under the headlight knob that pops off and you pull a release tab that's connected to the transmission to force it into N in case of dead battery or situations like this.
Yeah my challenger has the same thing. I always thought this was normal and didn't realize multiple manufacturers are not installing them. Wow, just wow.
that is so cool how you actually put your truck under the broken one .. and same coming off!!
Could not even imagine paying $70k + for a truck like this. . and dealing with this nonsense 😡
its not really a truck its a luxury vehicle
I have a 2021 silverado z71 5.3l the worst year of the gm trucks ! So far I have been blessed with this truck have no problems, it has 76,000 miles on it.
Definitely tipping with that amount of care
People criticize Toyota. GM has been dealing with this for years. They literally destroyed the dependability of the LS based engines.
The failure not on all new tundra. Another toyota hatter
This has become the GM Recovery Channel !!
Very Professional ! Nice job Dustin.
Good Job looking after customers vehicle.
You are good! I appreciate you looking out for the truck owner! God Bless
