Adding Detailed Texture to Short Fine Hair - X Pattern Technique
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 жов 2024
- One of the most difficult hair types to add visible texture to is short hair that is fine and blonde. Many times when you texturize fine hair the end result doesn't show texture it just looks more and more diffused.

In this video, Sam Villa Education Director Andrew Carruthers demonstrates an excellent X Pattern fine hair texturizing technique that you can use to create really defined texture.
Recommended Professional Tools for this Technique:
Professional 5.5" Swivel Shear (You'll see why when you watch the video. This shear will place your hand and wrist in a comfortable cutting position at all times)

To finish the hair, we recommend misting the hair first with Redken fashion waves 07 - a sea salt texturizing spray, to add more texture to the hair. Then use your Sam Villa Professional Ionic Blow Dryer (with the nozzle on so you don't create fly aways) to dry the hair and create your silhouette -

I've done a similar technique before, but I watched this video yesterday and tried the technique out today! My client was happy with her hair and I loved how deliberate the texture was!

this is great, thank you!
Does this work well on thick hair?
loved it....thanks
Fantastic technique ! What was the product spray you used !
Great video!
This,in no way, doesn't leave chunks out? I trust you guys whole heartedly, it just looks scary! 😁
When you first try it, don't open and close the shear too much, that would be the only reason you would take too much out... maybe grab a mannequin to try the technique first :-)
Andrew Carruthers so your pretty much slide cutting then?
Thanks
does this work only for fine hair or for medium
Awesome 👏

i had this done to me. i have thick coarse hair and it make my hair look huge. its so choppy and disconnected, feels so weird when i run my hand through it. how can this be fixed
Point cut
OMG! 😍
Do most barbers do this?
Funny you ask... when Andrew filmed this video, he honestly thought this was something most hairdressers were taught because everyone in his salon was familiar with it. Now that we've been teaching it for a few years, we've realized it's not something that has been shared with many hairdressers or barbers.
Can Andrew cut my hair or recommend someone? I'm in Austin Tx but I travel all the time and would go anywhere for the perfect haircut
Hey Robert! Andrew is working full time in education so he's not in a salon currently. We have Jesse Linares in Nashville, TN who is part of our ArTeam if you ever find yourself there... he's the one that Andrew trusts to cut his hair :-) Jesse works at a salon called Lunatic Fringe.
Come check us out at Birds barbershop! I’m in the Domain location but all the locations have great stylists
Best of luck
We love Sam Villa!! I know I do
@@samvillahair i think he meant as a model.

Just tried this. Never again.
I want this barber. 😫
We would recommend that you locate a Redken Artist in your area. Most Redken Artists have attended extensive training with myself, or with the same techniques. They are highly skilled.
