Tiffany, I just discovered your channel and I'm hooked. I don't know when I ever enjoyed watching a tutorial on quilting, binding & constructing a table runner. I am a clothing sewist, however, you have converted me. This is an awesome video and your table runners are amazing! Love your manner in teaching and your explanation is spot on. Please keep them coming.
Tiffany I'm sorry I don't compliment you enough on your teaching style. I love how you narrate each step as you're doing it. Your directions are so clear. You repeat things often so they soak into our brains. (In teaching adults, it's recommended to repeat 7 times in different ways.) I appreciate that in your videos you sometimes also make mistakes and you show us how to fix it or make it work. That is so helpful. Your style was so helpful when I was first learning all this stuff. Thank you.
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife I’m 74 and new to quilting. Use to sew cloths for kids ready for a change. I agree that your instructions are great. Thank you so much I learnt a lot 😊.
I just have to say that these tablerunners are the first ones I think I have ever wanted to duplicate ... they are beautiful and seem so practical to make.
I Love the way you teach! You cover every little detail - like the way the fabric wants to pull off of the machine bed while stitching on the 2nd side of the border on the end. Even on days when I have a bit of brain fog, I can follow the steps you are showing us! Thank you so much for being so thorough and taking the time to teach us so effectively! ❤
So happy I found your runner projects, you are so efficient, great directions and you have so much common sense in your sewing and cutting . (Oh, I liked how you fast forward through duplicate machine sewing, again very efficient.) Thank you so much.
I love these table runners!! Someday when I have enough fabric i want to make 1 or maybe 2!! Lol I wont be doing any sewing for awhile. I was putting away my groceries on Wednesday and fell off of the top step of my step ladder. I hit the floor really hard on my shoulder and head. Knocked myself out for a little while. I ended up breaking my collar bone and my arm…of course my right arm and I’m right handed.
Love what you did on the back using the two fabrics. I sent this link to my friend because she is teaching her 6 year old granddaughter to sew and I think this would be an easy project for her to make for her Mama for xmas - with help from Grandma of course!
Thanks great tutorial. Especially appreciated the turn inside out one. I have fabric waiting for this type of table runner and didn't know how to start. Love your little chuckles.
I appreciate you saying to leave an opening about the size of a hand space. Some I’ve watched said three inches, which I did, but was too small for my hand. Nice reminder for me.
Tiffany, these are brilliant and I can make them without a paper pattern. I would also like to try making other blocks in the area of the focus fabric and then bordering as you demonstrated. Thank you for being brilliant.
These are great, Tiffany! And the video is well done, clear and instructive. Such a wonderful effect for so little fabric. I really liked your shamrocks and butterflies in the longarm quilting as well. So pretty. -Sally from MO
All of these table runners are great! I appreciate the directions for making these! I have table runners out all the time…two to four on different tables! I like the color and atmosphere they add! Thanks a lot! I will be making some of these!
Hi Tiffany! I always make something for each of my family members for Christmas. These runners are a great idea as I can make each family other holiday runners in colors to match their decor! I especially love the blue and the thanksgiving ones,,but they are all lovely. You make such pretty color choices❤️
You can save it, it will also be in your library. You can also create yourself a playlist of your favorite videos. And or type Table Runner Madness into the search and it should come up.
I do think I'll need to make some of these. Maybe a set of 6,each with 2 months = 1 year of table runners. Could also make place mats to match, but with a rectangular center and side &top strips. Also reversible.
Hi tiff,… I’ve noticed you have used a little green object to thread your needle on your machine…. I’m very interested in purchasing one. Could you give us some more information on this little threader? thank you ❤… enjoy all the information and know how you give us. You really make a difference. Thank you….
Love these can't wait to try, beautiful fabrics. 2 questions please, what is the width of the fabric, 40 or 60 inches or? And where can one get the fabric cutter please?
These are just beautiful! Thank you for the great tutorial. I have a question, which may have been answered & I missed it. When cutting the strips to start with, are you cutting them the width of fabric?
Hi Tiffany. I’ve been out of source lately, stumbled across your video again so thankful. You may have mentioned it before and I just missed it. But (what is the brand of your machine?) Ty……… love you showing us the 45 on this piece. You make it look so easy. Wish we could see it a little bit better for your camera has shown your hand and arm mostly. Lol.❤️ You have no! Ren enjoyed it. Thank you again. Keep them coming.!
We can get crisper corners if we will take two stitches across the corner, rather than simply pivoting at points, we can turn out the corners (when turning right sides to outside) with less hassle and bulk - - and, of course, trimming the points. That is a hard concept to put into words ... I hope that first sentence made sense. The turning thingey/ pointy thing is actually called a turning tool ... sometimes, there are just nothing better than the turning thing ... but, I had to look it up to see what would come out when I called it a turning tool I really liked the up/close and personal camera angle on the binding ... it is just fun to watch! But I have to remember that when you did that, you were hampered with a camera between you and what you were working on. Thank you for the up-close and personal ... but we understand - - that was quite a hindrance to you ... and we really appreciate your additional attempts to help us succeed at making quilts. Actually, we can see the quilting you do when the back of the quilt/table runner reads as solid ... on the front, unless there is white or the thread is glaringly different from the colors of the patterns, we can rarely see the quilting you have done. But! You are excellent on almost everything you ever create .. we can safely assume you have done a pleasing product. I know! That sounds cheesy, but you really are quite good at what you are doing ...

Ya the new model of my machine comes with bigger hoops. But they are not interchangeable sadly 😔 😢 I only use mine for tags and random stuff so I make due haha

Can you use polyester batting for table runners? Or only cotton batting?
You can use whatever batting you want 😊
