Lol, "This is why we don't let customers inside the install bay"
That was priceless.
I tell my customers that it's like surgery. You may be really curious, but it's probably best that you don't see what's going on behind the curtain. Seeing their engine bay empty, or their interior gutted, is usually a bit of a shock.
Yea I hate when customers watch me work on there vehicles haha I just feel all the judgement from where they are standing haha
This is so true. I’ve been an installer basically my whole life and this has always been my policy.
I know right I was dying
@@TEAMLSM I actually had a customer tip me after I let him stand there all day while I worked on his car. Was a nice surprise after the hassle!

As an ex car audio tech, i love when Seth goes “this is why we didn’t let customers in the back” i hated a customer over my shoulder going “ you just broke something!”

It’s so weird to me that I’m just finding your UA-cam channel! I remember being a young teenager watching the howcast videos learning how to tinker with car stereos. Today I found it based from a howcast video I found from searching up an alpine amplifier I bought for my car. I watched it for the nostalgia, and this happened to be in the recommended!
Thank you so much for the knowledge you gave though those videos! It’s over a decade later and I’m still tinkering like a kid, just hopefully doing a better job of it! Definitely going to sub now!

“What are you talking about? That the car is an 18?”
“Yeah!”
“ *_NAH._* “
Lol why is that so funny
The 10 character in the VIN would actually be the correct year for parts and application. For example the car may be made the 8th month of 2017 but would in fact be a 2018 vehicle for all important parts and application information. The only time the exact date of manufacture would matter is if there was a split vehicle production for that full year and things were different between an exact set of dates.
JonOTech You must be a comedian
@@redbaron354 It's actually the same as bike models. A 2018 model is being manufactured since 2017 and is often actually sold since 2017, but it's an 2018 model because it was made for the season of 2018.
It's not a scam or anything, it's just that the date model year is not the same thing as manufacture year.
@@CanIHasThisName yep. I had a Mustang that was considered a "late 98." It was a 1998 made in the second half of the year so it features some parts from the 1999 cars since those had begun production and the vehicle was about to change. The VIN is most accurate.
@Ethan Gibson the actual VIN would display the official model year.
This is awesome to see. I also got my life started working at a car stereo shop. Back when double din radios were huge and subwoofers were all the craze. Lots of dual battery set ups. Sound deadening. Etc. funny to see how people who like to tinker always tinker.

"Seth's Car Stereo Hacks"
Haha yes
No hacks were used in the making of this video. Any smart individual would not consider taking aftermarket electronics installation advice from a UA-cam channel with the word "hacks" in the name. It's all about his editing style. He's said before that when he films and edits he is constantly looking for the story he's going to tell. The reason we all find him doing chores and installing car electronics compelling is because he makes a story out of it. Take this for example. There's the beginning about building Alexander's van in the first place, the middle about the problems he's been having, introduce Seth's background in car electronics, the problem with compatibility, and then a solution and climax with the stereo install is 100% functional. It's simple, but really engaging. Seth's the master at finding a good story to tell in seemingly mundane footage and tasks. It also helps he's got a on camera presence. Alexander is also really good at this as well.
Maybe you should start Seth’s Stero Hacks?
Glad I clicked this video. I had enjoyed every moment because it looks so awesome and cool at the same time.
