- Full Concert from the Alladin Theatre in Las Vegas July 2, 1976. Obtained this video in a tape swap about 25 years ago. Professionally filmed but never commercially released. Missing the first part of Song Sung Blue for some reason. Wish the video quality was better but hopefully the audio makes up for that. Neil Diamond in all his 70's glory. Enjoy!

🎼🎶🦋 I came from Jekyll Island, GA (USA) to Las Vegas in July 1976 just to see Neil Diamond in one of the concerts during Bicentennial week. I was at the July 3rd concert at the Aladdin....it was heaven to my 25 year old heart❤....I will never forget it...the gentleman is adored by the whole world....🦋💕 God bless Neil Diamond! 😊

Not that long ago, everything was copied/traded by regular mail… this is a low gen copy. No telling what other Holy Grail items from popular artists are out there…

Hot August Night double album from the Greek Theater in LA ('72) is a gem.
I am sad that I'll never see Neil perform. I'm too young to have been around at the right age to get to a concert. This has been a fantastic recording. That voice is so rich and flexible. Talented beautiful man, filled with integrity for his followers. Thank you Neil for your entertainment and incredible songs
A Neil Diamond concert was something to behold! Saw my first concert ten years after this one when I was seven years old. Went to almost every tour until the last one. Miss those times and all the friends from all over the world we’d meet up with at those shows.

My wife and I saw Neil Diamond in Vancouver, BC, Canada about 10 years ago. What a showman! He loves his audience.
He retired shortly after.

I discovered his music when I was 4 years old and looked forward to seeing him in concert with the anticipation of a kid on Christmas morning. Finally, in 1976, at the age of 8, I was able to attend his show in Seattle. I’ll never forget that night. It was powerful, electric, and bordered on the spiritual. Saw him many more times up until he retired from the stage in 2017. He brought that same magic every single time. His music and impact are timeless. His music made my life better.
Neil Diamond is such a Humble man. Love Him. His songs come from his Heart and Soul. Right to our Hearts and Souls. GOD BLESS YOU Neil Diamond. Your a beautiful person.

This video shows the Neil as I first saw him Oct 20, 1976 in Pittsburgh PA. He can’t be beat! He feels the music every song and we reap the enjoyment!!!

A teacher in Kansas, Betty B. played this same video (VHS) for us (I was maybe 18/19 visiting her with my grandmother). I thought it was a school choir when I heard Tap Root Manuscript's 'Missa' music playing. That bootleg got copied in short order and while the quality diminished, the thrill of it increased. What a double treat to get to view it again after all these years. I never knew what year (or place) it was from. Thank you so much!

In the early 70's my boyfriend at the time surprised me with A Neil Diamond concert....I was the young lady he kissed that night...My God the man could kiss...we did kiss 3 times...I would love to get in touch with my old boyfiend,but he has passed away...there was nothing vulgar or distasteful about the kiss....At that time I was a very beautiful girl..I'm sure my friend had him to look my way and locked eyes...been kissed thousands of time since then.....BUT nothing could every compare to the most sensual kiss I ever received...I was not at least star struck.,but after the kiss I've often wondered why men couldn't kiss like Neil!!!!

Wow! Cannot thank you enough for this upload. As a live music fan, audio/video collector & someone who grew up in an ND house, to see such an excellent quality pro-shot / damn near full show from 40 years ago when things weren’t recorded/archived the way they are now is absolutely incredible.
I would give my right arm and leg to have attended his 1976 Aladdin performance! Every time I went to Las Vegas years later, I stayed at the Aladdin just to feel the spirit of this show.
I attended this concert with my husband. We clapped so hard our hands were almost blistered. It was really great.
There was nothing like live music . Talk about a high.❤❤

Actually, it was the July 5, 1am show. ND references this early by saying "welcome to the late show". I was at the 8pm show 5 hours earlier and that was filmed too.

I have seen Neil Diamond perform about 7 times, I really wanted more, but then he announced his retirement because of a disease that he didn't deserve. But nobody should get. He's an awesome entertainment person, so humble and true of what I could feel about him. He's loving and caring. He really cares about his fans. In a strange way he remind s me of Elvis the way he strums his guitar. ❤😮😅

These Bicentennial shows in July '76, were the first in the then new Aladdin Theatre For The Performing Arts. Was there outside the venue this evening, (sold out) as the show went down.
Its a real shame that Hot August Night concert at the Greek Theater in 1972 nobody film it, its a true Gem in Worldwide music.

I was at the July 4, 1976 show. There was only supposed to be three shows, but the demand was so big they added additional shows on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th. Not sure if there was another show on the 4th. The show I saw started around 8:00 PM.

Naw.... that was by design. Giving a gospel feel, like the way Katie Kasoon sang with Van Morrison in the late 70s.
Guaranteed, they were singing exactly the way Neil instructed them to do. He ran that show entirely. Just about every nuance of it. And regarding volume, that has nothing to do with the vocalist, everybody’s just singing the way they sing.
The volume and the mix is completely dependent upon the engineers. That’s just the way it works.
He's one of the very few who can find the strings to play the emotional me.
I've known about this concert for a long time but never seen the full version. Thanks Steve. I think this is an unofficial release because the mafia were trying to get some of the million dollar fee they paid Neil back 😊
I’ve long suspected this video was from a closed circuit to the casino hotel. I gathered the idea when the wife and I took a cruise twenty years ago and the TV in our cabin had a channel that showed all the shows that were occurring down in the theater.

In 1976 the Aladdin had TV's with antennas only. ND was thinking TV special, that became the Greek Theatre special in Feb. 1977.

Yes this is not the July 2 show (unfortunately). I was there for that first concert and he wore a reddish outfit and he sang Rosemary's Wine during which he invited all those with cameras to come up to the stage and take as many photos they wanted on the condition that there would be no more photos during the rest of the concert. Got some nice closeups with my cheap camera.

In 1963, he married his high-school sweetheart, Jaye Posner, who had become a schoolteacher.
They had two daughters.
The couple separated in 1967,
and divorced in 1969.
On December 5, 1969, Diamond married production assistant Marcia Murphey.
