My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

She's blessed to have a mom that took her daughter and is helping her lose weight, cooking for her, and clearing out all the bad foods, but instead, she's ungrateful.

Cheyanne found someone to take care of, so that she wouldn't have to take responsibility for herself and do the work she obviously needs. Instant "worth" without self-control.

I feel so sorry for Staci. It must be hellish to have a child who is an addict, has wrecked every single aspect of their life with bad decisions, laziness, passive-aggressiveness and general incompetence, and who resents you and runs away from you when you try to help them get their life together in any way. She must be so frustrated and angry.
I felt sorry for her mom, she really tried to help her by doing all the things that needed to be done but Dolly fought her all the way.

In each of Dr. Now's cases, it's clear to me that the person needs psychotherapy BEFORE even attempting a diet plan. I know that Dr. Now often refers his patients to one, but that should precede any diet he puts them on.
How many of Dr. Nowzaradan's patients would walk away if he ONLY Rx-ed psychotherapy? His training is in Bariatrics.
Dr. Now addresses the weight as quickly as he can because some folks are literally at deaths door when they come to him. So getting some weight off either in the hospital or on their own is necessary.

She sounds like she's trying to make everyone feel sorry for her BUT she is the only one that is responsible for the shape she is currently in. Yeah you don't get to tell her how she feels about her mom having a lifestyle that causes her to have no father. Her father left and she never got anything to fill his role. That affects a child.

I love her Mom. She has raised that grandchild from the get go. Dolly takes terrible advantage of her.
Almost unfathomable that the girl is only 25 and is so big. She seems to ping pong from one person/relationship to another and doesn't listen to Mom. Why? Because Mom wants to help her (ie make her stay on a healthy track) and Dolly simply doesn't want to put in the effort.

There’s a reason she was deemed incompetent as a parent. She can’t take care of herself or make sound decisions for her own life, let alone a child. She needs intense psychotherapy but seems like she has low self awareness. Sadly she is an “adult” and thus there isn’t much anyone can do to help her unless she recognizes she needs help and decides to take action.

I'm way skinnier than her (she weighs almost 3x as much as I do), I'm almost 21, and I can pass as anyone between 18-25 when I wear makeup. Without makeup, I look about 10 years older.

you know that showering for her takes great effort (literally, its physically hard) and you're shaming her for not doing that every single day
now I've never been overweight but I have been severely depressed and I can't stress this enough: doing basic tasks can be extremely difficult for people with depression
and depression is a common cause of overeating
because eating turns from a necessity of life into a coping mechanism
so overweight people are disproportionately suffering from depression (that and being overweight worsens said depression which turns into a vicious cycle of feeling bad because you're fat therefore eating to cope, and then becoming even more fat due to eating so much)

She aught to be thankful she's even able to walk normal. I'm only half of her weight and it is so bad on my body I've had to use a walker for the last 4 years.
Don't feel bad. She's only 25. Just give her a couple of years. Also how do they DRIVE? Even with adjusting the wheel I still am amazed at all of them who can drive. Best wishes.

I have no sympathy for people like this, zero will power, they don't help themselves at all. Losing weight is damn hard, but unless you try and make some effort - you won't, others can't do it for you. I've never been thin, but I try to be careful with food and eat mostly vegan/plant based and I don't have dairy. I still want to lose some more weight. Living like Dolly does is ridiculous and to allow yourself to get to this state or make the excuses that she does (and they all do) is just lazy. I can't believe what she eats! The amount is just horrendous 🤮 She obviously doesn't give a damn about her health or what she actually looks like! What gets me is that they always seem to get partners! WTH😂
If these people got themselves on the right path and had the determination to lose weight and take control of their lives and health, then you would want to support them more - if you saw real results. It's sad for her mother and daughter. I'm surprised most of the people in this series are still alive to be honest.

Wow! The most eggs i can eat for breakfast is 2 and 1 sausage i felt full. A dozen of eggs lasted me a month and i love eggs. I steamed my eggs(Asian dish) 😋

Dolly blames everyone but herself for her predicament. Watching the episode it was hard to understand how she was unable to process that the common denominator in her issues with family and friends is her. Dolly needs some accountability, until then she’ll never get better.
It wont be long until Cheyanne is in the same state, i wonder who will help them both.
