Im getting back into watching your vids after a few months break. I still dont see when I could escape Australia and take an extended holiday in England but its still nice to dream..
Loving that we are spending time with you, and hope you had a great Christmas. This bridge must be bad because Michael sounds really worried and he's so unflappable normally.
What can I say. Merry Christmas Guys. Love lemon cake. Must try lemon muffins thanks Mike. I will have a look next time I am shopping. I am catching up on you as well.😀. Done 3 now next one. He he.
I hope the river levels dropped and you got yourself into a good position for the imminent lockdown. Sounds like you’re going to have an interesting Xmas meal 😂 . Thanks for giving us all a well needed laugh, had me in stitches 👍
We do our turkey dinner on Christmas eve. We make nachos on Christmas day with a ton of veg and cheese. Family and friends can drop in and eat and we can enjoy their company. We have vegetarians in our family and they skip the meat toppings. Michael next year go for it!!!
Thanks for the lasagna story. I've lived in Hindu and Muslim countries, and have often struggled to find the right food for a traditional Christmas dinner. I remember very fondly one year when I stumbled across a Nando's, thinking "Christmas is saved!" Sitting in a Nando's with the kids on Christmas surrounded by turbans never felt so festive.
Life with JO on holiday... and the planning that goes along the way. As far as the specific holiday... You' all and Georgie have filled my year on a holiday, with chuckles and conversations and orations on behalf of Micheal's very informative vlogs, and watching where George's balls are stowed (by the throttle) handy ... Your batter, is felt recently everyday. intoxicating part of a great relationship. Cheers.
Wonderful, wonderful video. You were laughing and letting your hair down. You’re OK cos Italians don’t have Turkey at Christmas...but instead of lemony cakes things, they have Panettone. It is excellent stuff. Buon Natalie and as I write this at Easter 2021, I say Buona Pasquale. Stay safe and may your God be with you.
You have a good tow path at your mooring at Alrewas. Visit the NMA. It’s a very moving experience and helps you to understand the absolute futility of war and armed conflict.
Fabulous place Fradley, the car etc belong to the hippie types that live in the two cottages. Opposite there’s the shack ( draw bridge) big white Alsatian (wolf) and another hippy guy and gal. I go many times to Fradley but can get rather busy in season! Next to the old car there may be a caravan opposite the shack.
@@MinimalList Very. It drops balls into the canal then gets them out without jumping in, very clever! Lovely place, the canal and river trust cafe outside by the big house which is set back from the locks is very nice, should be open April 12 but will be busy. The pub will open too. One thing that’s more than annoying I’m afraid are the bikers who frequent the pub, can be noisy and late. Otherwise a great place with a fantastic lake just down from cottages opp river and canal trust cafe. Also a very nice caravan park, all green caravans. If you go back, have a look around and post a video if you can. All the best.
Lasagna on Christmas, turkey on Thanksgiving, ham on Easter usually preceded by some type of stuffed shells or ravioli. Happy Easter / Christmas / Sunday!
Jo, you sound like me doing the grocery shopping. I had to take it over from the wife during covid, and I will only go first thing in the morning, as soon as the store opens, and I'm in and out ASAP. We may need a video of Michael eating his lemon muffin while wearing his glow in the dark yellow pants!
FYI… you were joking, in this episode, about when people would watch this one and I watched this one in August of ‘23. I Started with 001 back in January or February and am trying to catch up. Awesome scenery and I would really like to see some of the places you have have been. Thanks for putting your travels out there I have enjoyed them all.
The lasagna sounded like it would be good. I have a vegetarian lasagna recipe made with sliced eggplant and cauliflower in the sauce. It is really good. We will do gumbo for Christmas dinner.
Your only 3 months behind not the six mountain you said in the video and if my memory is correct it is only 3 more video left. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your next video
Once again you spoil us with another great video. Lovely to see 2 people happy and relaxed, laughing and enjoying their time together. Loved the music you used on this one- could you please let me know what it is?
A belated Merry Christmas, even though it is April. Somehow, it could be appropriate given the forecast for Easter Monday suggests wintery weather is coming! Not long until you have caught up with your vlogs. You must be looking forward to being able to cruise again. Stay safe, and thanks for another great entertaining vlog!
Veggie Lasagna.... it's what's for Xmas supper.... funny I've done that over twenty years now.... once you have kids ....and they fly away..... destiny....
Canal boating must be increasing in popularity or more people prefer to use marinas as they keep building them every few years? Kings orchard and the new one at atherstone are 2 examples
My wife and I, also vegetarians, have created a bit of a "thing" around holiday meals, making them as nontraditional as possible. BTW, the pigeon takeover would have been a truly gloriously ridiculous way to ring out the year. Alas, perhaps another time.
Delhi mix is a new product to me - looked it up, sounds pretty tasty. Christmas food is whatever you enjoy eating; hope you had a quiet and peaceful day. Here it is March so you weren't far off guessing when the vlog would be put out; stay safe.
I hate, hate turkey. lasagna sounds great. Now that I live alone I decided that I would start a few of my own traditions, the pub in the afternoon and a curry in the evening. Skype some friends who live too far and then settle down to watch my copy of the searchers. Perfect.
A beginning is a very delicate time. Know then that it was the Earth year 2020. At that time the most precious things in the known universe were lemon muffins. Lemon muffins expand consciousness. Lemon muffins allow narrow boats to travel to any point on the canal network. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you. Lemon muffins exist in only one place. A wet, desolate place called Alrewas, not remotely like Dune.
@@MinimalList It would be really nice if you did get to finish the streatch at ash through to Mittchete its a very nice streach of the canal. I offten take a drive down there just to have a peaceful walk and reflect upon life.
In the great push to catch up Jo’s kind of leaving most of the bloopers in place rather than struggling to pull them all together in the end... I’m sure they’ll come back once we’re caught up to ourselves in 3-4 videos! M
Talk to me about comments, for just a minute..... With the time lapse, are comments even meaningful at this stage? Or do you have to watch the video again just to know what we are talking about? Or, is there another issue that hasn't occurred to me that makes commenting moot at this stage? I ask because I started to say something and then thought 'it's a little late for that now'. Were you able to find a nice mooring spot for Christmas, where you could wander into the village and see the lights and maybe hear the choir at a local church? Maybe such things have no appeal to you. If you make pie crust, making fresh lasagna sheets is easy as pie. Pun intended, seriously. I discovered how easy it is to make pasta and now I am not a fan of the dried pasta you buy in a box. Not making any kind of judgement, it is simply that easy and that much better. AND you can choose your flour mix.
Comments can definitely be meaningful, though once a video gets old it’s a lot harder to know what’s being referenced. We still get comments on videos that are 4 years old! I used to do my own pasta, BTW... loved doing it. The little mound of flour and the egg yolks, then all the kneading. What I’ve discovered on a boat, though, is all that flour dust is a recipe for detonation! M
Love your laughter and conversation.
Thanks! We like having them! M
we get horrible weather but the climate is great!!
Dismal weather but a nice vlog all the same.
Great video. You cannot trust the English weather. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Alrewas.
Red arrows trained pigeons, that’s what they are!
Ahh, that explains it! M
I love the contrast of your Chatty moments, and Georges forlorn leash as he sits and waits again for the humans..... its wonderful
A backward sloping lens hood with RainX coated front works wonders for drips... Happy Christmas @ Happy Easter
Loved the Christmas chat, great fun. Thanks for the ride. Take care and hope you has a great Christmas.
Thank you! The two of you laughing about the shopping mixup made my day!
Im getting back into watching your vids after a few months break. I still dont see when I could escape Australia and take an extended holiday in England but its still nice to dream..
Hopefully sooner rather than later, for all of our sakes! M
I think we had (homemade) pizza for Christmas (also veggie). Lasagna and lemon cake sounds lovely and perfectly normal!
Dunno about normal, but it was lovely! M
Loving that we are spending time with you, and hope you had a great Christmas. This bridge must be bad because Michael sounds really worried and he's so unflappable normally.
Not so much bad as just bloody narrow at speed! M
What can I say. Merry Christmas Guys.
Love lemon cake. Must try lemon muffins thanks Mike. I will have a look next time I am shopping.
I am catching up on you as well.😀. Done 3 now next one. He he.

I spent a Christmas in Mumbai once... didn’t find a Nando’s, but did find a Pret a Manger! M
Today I have cooked a dozen lemon muffins and they are delicious 🤤
They are when you can get them! M
a marina built at a lock should be accessible on both sides of the lock. that is, it should have a high side and a low side.
Glad that Christmas was saved, nothing odd about having lasagna for Christmas dinner, and I bet it was delicious. Happy Easter and stay safe
It was indeed delicious! M

‘Twiglets’, the snack food version of ‘it’s a marmite thing.’

Lasagna and Lemon cake. A very alliterative Christmas. I'm sure it was as good as it sounds.
Lotsa Lasagna and Lovely Lemon Loaf ?
Merry Christmas, enjoy your Lasagna.

Happy Christmas. Hope you don't bump the bridge:)

The place you took on water at Fradley takes aaaaagggggeeeeessss!

I was cruising not far from you that day. I did Hopwood House to Birmingham city centre solo, fortunately no locks on that trip. I got rather wet.
