Heys guys Liz wouldn't of thought you was scared of spiders in your hair. Should of took Ernie for company. Yes Paul more practise on the bread to catch up with that bakery . Have a fantastic week 😊😊
Blimey Paul went all Ganksta then! lol... You could see it in his eyes he looked straight into the camera as to say " The dipsticks making that funny voice again" haha! That last boat was Lady Brian I think, they are blacksmiths they make some lovely windlass holders and stuff. Those ducks all together are the bachelors who didn't kop for a partner, They sit there all grumpy saying stuff like "Well I didn't fancy her anyway her beak was bent" lol It's a lovely part of the network that. Great as always guys :)
Her beak was bent 🤣 lady brian Aka cruising crafts. Funny enough we couldn't see any blacksmith items for sale on that day but had a good chat with them. Hope you are keeping well 😊
Good morning from sunny London town! Thanks for another great vlog ,we watch religiously on the tv and always forget to comment but not this week! 😅 I've driven past Lichfield many a time on my way to see my family in Scotland and now I'm going to stop on my next trip and give it a little visit. It looks like a lovely place. Have a lovely weekend both of you &Ernie too . We lost our wee dog last november so we love to see Ernie on the vlogs ❤
Hi Karen, thank so much for watching and for comme ting this week. Definitely stop by Lichfield, it's a charming place. So sorry to hear you lost your dog, it's heartbreaking isn't it. Hope you have a fab weekend and hopefully see you here next week 😀
The Lichfield Cathedral, what an amazing sight. The effort put into creating such a building and surroundings. Thanks for covering it. The narrows quite an engineering marvel. I've yet to see a jam jar which can transport you between locations. And add to that a floating market with soggy bottoms ? Hsppy cruising.
I've watched your Channel from when you decided to get a narrow boat and it's by far the most entertaining N/B channel on youtube. We will be joining you soon, our boat should be finished by the end of may so may see you on your travels.
Oh wow thank you so much Trevor for your lovely comment and for watching since the beginning. Best of luck with your boat, bet your excited. Look forward to seeing you out on the cut 😊
Hi both, Hindleys cakes and bread can’t be beaten. Lovely to see you in Lichfield spent a lot of my working life in Lichfield. I worked in the bank in market square.
Hi Jean, hope you enjoyed your trip. Honestly, that ice bun was the best. I really liked Lichfield, its kept its charm whilst still being modern at the same time if you know what I mean. I loved it 😊
Thanks for taking us along. Lovely to see all the green and the soft water. We can all still walk on the water here. Finally getting warm here in Alaska. Snows melting. Stayed above freezing all night the last couple days even though only by a couple degrees.
@@uponreflection Live just west of Fairbanks. Right now I think winter is finally giving up. staying slightly about freezing at night. Getting up above 10C in the day. May is Springtime here when the world turns green. June is the hottest and driest Month. 32C is about the hottest we will see. July is a bit cooler with a bit more rain. August the wettest month. We average about 11 inches of precipitation per year.(rain plus snow) Sept is fall. Leaves turn yellow and fall off. October,,,,the first snow that sticks comes about the second week in.
*Morena Liz, Paul & Ernie 🙂As a non-religious person, I actually love seeing the old churches & there structures...on the inside & outside. maybe its because I see it all thru a photographers eye. 🙂 So, since you asked for the number of statues over on the other side...I had said 30 or 50... 🙂 Paul YESSSS the Westside rules... cos I live on the Westside of my city 🙂Wow that tunnel was very narrow.. I bet the magnet fishing folks will find heaps in that part of the canal.🙂The Essex bridge is cute how they built extra bits to allow other people to pass by 🙂It's interesting see how close you are the homes that back onto the canal, and how well kept they are too. Enjoying the slow video scenery shots as you sail by 🙂nz*
You're the same as Paul, he loves looking inside and outside churches despite not being religious. He loves the architecture. How the weather your way now?😊
@@uponreflection *Yeah it is amazing how the churches were built by builders, all those years ago... and that they are still standing... yet some much older homes last thru time and yet modern houses do not last. 🙂 Well it was sunny this morning, but the rain is a coming. Started to get motivated... looked at prices for hotwater 180L cylinders & getting them installed, by taking out a 45 yr old one that had a 2 yr warranty back in 1978. Only replaced the Thermostat & Valve back in 2015. To get a new one comes with a 10 year warranty, but wont last as long as my old one.! Had one company arrive this morning for a quote to gut and renovate the bathroom, part of the laundry.. now to find more companies to get their quotes. Naturally I am getting in most of the stuff myself... to keep costs down 🙂.*
@@uponreflection *Not quite a palace lol 🙂 But it is a lot to take in, as to what has to be done... destruction, plumbing, electrician, gib boards for walls & ceiling, plastering & flooring etc etc🙂 At least today's company got what I was wanting done... nothing fancy but def functional. Monday is another cylinder company who also helps to advise, as to which of the two brands will be the best one to buy... Honestly some you can work them from a 'smart' setup via cell phones!!! I just wish that all this technology gadgets would slow the heck down... 🙂.*
It's amazing nowadays what can be run from smart devices, to think even to change the channel on the TV you used to have to actually get up and turn the knob and nowadays you can turn your heating on in your house from your phone when you're not even there 😊
Hi Colin, yeah that narrow part before the narrows, we thought we're the actual narrows at first 🤣 I'm so glad I got off and checked too 😉 Hope you and Sarah are good 😊
Another great video guys. Our doggo -Reginald the Lakeland Terrier - watches the tv intently and Ernie is definitely a fave. We’ll hopefully bump into you one day and he can meet his hero. All the best 👍
Liz, thank you for the toned bottoms, I for one, appreciated it (they were men werent they?) ha ha. Great vlog. Lovely part of the country. Best wishes Christine x
Hi guys. Enjoyed tonights vlog. Brought back memories of our visit seeing the cathedral spires about 2yrs ago. Great place. Thank you. Take care and stay safe. ATB x
Dear Liz, Paul and Captain Ernie, Captain Ernie probably took you to the top of the bridge to see if any of the boats, at the market, had dog treats. He sure had the occasional look, on his face, as if he was wondering if his humans were losing it lol. Hey now dogs DO talk in their sleep. Has Captain Ernie never made woofs in his sleep? I had a dog that would twitch and woof while sleeping. Thanks guys for another wonderful 1/2 hour of entertainment. you guys rock. Mark Alberta, Canada
Thanks Mark for watching again. Yes Ernie runs, barks, snuffles and whimpers in his sleep at times oh and kicks 🤣😊 There was a dog treat stall there and he was treated to some doggie sausages 😉😊
A great video but Liz - your voice is lovely - so why drown it out with background music? Your telling of the history of the cathedral would have been fine without that background!
Thank you Ruth. It's always a hard one to judge. No music, people may have found it boring and more like a history lesson 🤣 and you always hate the sound of your own voice don't you so maybe I was hoping to drown me out a bit 🤣😊
