Okay, the video is actually John Connor sending a message from the future calling all citizen to stop these robot to prevent skynet and terminator. Lol
You probably won't be surprised to find out that the man slapping the box out of the robot's hands was found dead a few weeks later with his throat crushed. A note was left that read, "11110011000100011100111010001010001010100100101001000101".
AlleyCat - this one kid tried to brag about how his vocab was so bad, and it was so big because it something he will always build upon I just sat and grinned and asked "oh really? well what about your lexicon?" ;-)
AlleyCat - BLASPHEMY!!!!! Never too old to learn my friend. You can always teach an old dog (or cat, in this instance) new tricks... besides, I'm sure you're not that you old. Although, hanging around UA-cam Will definitely make you feel that way. I'm only 31and this place makes me feel like an elder/genius most of the time… C'est la vie
no, it is a machine. Do you feel sorry when someone slams a car door? Or kicks the doors in? How about if you throw your shit cell phone at the wall? Or use your old laptop for target practise? Libtard.
Boston Dynamics' robots running about outdoors on uneven terrain and in the snow certainly demonstrates that they're capable of real-world applications - it's one thing to have the Cheetah jump over rectangular blocks in a gymnasium, completely another thing to wander down a slippery uneven hillside. Loved seeing what ASIMO is capable of nowadays. It's like watching a kid growing over the years and becoming a teenager - except it took a little longer...
Walking robots will never have a place in the military or as destructive devices, humans do it naturally because we can't change that aspect of our own design. Rather, what we'll see are robots more designed for traversing rougher terrain using tracks or wheels like the CRUSHER. These robots are truly designed for the purpose of search and rescue because their smaller size (ASIMO) and their advanced dexterity (as compared to others) is more suited to operating in confined situations where humans need to be taken into careful consideration. To believe that they'll be operating under more sinister intentions is silly and ultimately needless discourse.
Everything you said about a "walking robot" not having a place in the military is absolutely true with regards to search and rescue. We will not see a robot in this task instead we will see exactly what we are seeing now. Flying drones and small micro drones that have unique propulsion systems that allow them to crawl and wiggle into confined spaces or search large tracks of land quickly. As for what we will see in the military.....we already see that. There is absolutely no reason to develop a walking robot to further the tech with things we already have. It's primary function is to replace a human foot soldier it's as simple as that. Something General Dynamics have said many times. I will concede that it will focus on a very narrow aspect of that replacement such as the task usually preformed by a radio operator or field med tech. Because it's perfect for that role. Your right, most humans can't change certain aspects like self preservation. So a bot can fill that role without the need to put others in harms way. Whether this is a realistic goal however is a completely different topic. But when they can be used for those "more sinister intentions" the military will use them by which time your "needless discourse" truly will be needless. Any belief they won't is ridiculous and goes against the military history of the entirety of recorded human history.
Ry Green what civilians dont understand is that no military would spend money on something like that, a bipedal robot with two arms and a gun? hell no, a mini rc tank with a saw on top is *much* more useful then that. besides none of the machines featured in this video would be able to disarm a bomb much less functionally use any kind of firearm. the only kind of robots that militaries use are rc bomb disposal robots and that's only when the risk is too high.
well I hope you never slam your car door. I feel sorry for the car. What is the difference? Because it looks slightly human, you SJW's will want human rights put on robots when they eventually roll them out. It is a fucking machine you liberal fucktards. Grow up.
I am certain that the US military will put guns on robots and try to make their own terminator army. No denying that. It's silly how much the US spends on war assets when there are more important issues that need solving. Healthcare, or 200mph submarine?! An order for 20 submarines please, spare no expense... But as a whole, I believe robots will improve human lifestyle and reduce risks in some jobs. Also I love the fact that the cool futuristic scene from I robot will be a reality in my lifetime. I was born in 1992 and I believe most of the sci-fi movies I've seen will be a reality in my lifetime. Humans on mars. Robots in our daily lives. Smart vehicles. Smart houses. 3d printing and 3d bio-printing... All that goodness. As long as the major superpowers don't do something too stupid and wipe us all out, the future will probably be good. PS: Take note Us government... Don't make a robot army and put an AI linked to everything in charge of it and don't even think of putting said AI in charge of missiles.
ARPA, the precurssor to DARPA, developed the ARPANET which is the backbone of the tcp/ip packet digital communication system we call the internet. American defense spending gave you the internet, microwave ovens, GPS, semi-conductor advancements, mainframe computer systems with universal mass storage(think the cloud services industry), e-mail, medical nuclear therapy such as chemotherapy and CAT scans, etc., etc.,....
These will only be used in stead of soldiers when it becomes cheaper to arm, repair, and build robots then to train, feed, pay, gear, and heal soldiers
I'm sure there are powerful people that dream of replacing most of us with machines just like this. From military to fast food, they want to replace us. But how cool is this stuff? I'm living in the future. :D

Impressive so far the development has come in just a few years :) It is so fast that in a few years it will be robots that develop robots if not already ;)
Fire Power701 lol. Yeah, I figured that. Would it be reasonable in the future when robots start shoving us to see if were are stable or doing our tasks? (assuming a majority of our jobs haven't been replaced by robots)
Atlas - As humans we survey the ground we walk on then choose to tackle it based on previous experience. So I am in awe of the number of calculations it goes through from purely reactionary circumstances, it would be cool if it assessed what ground is safe and unsafe to walk on stored the data and used it when it saw fit.
G'day Paul, I don't know how I missed a handful of your earlier videos as I've been watching your work, I thought, completely for 5 years. Anyway, this video on robots, back in 2016 is interesting because one must imagine what these creations look like now, in 2021. Also interesting for the emotional response they trigger in people. I find ASIMO and particularly Pepper somewhat 'spooky' and disconcerting. I like the 'dog' robots as they, like their real counterparts, have become useful to the military for carrying packs, ordinance and medical supplies in battle zones. It was also kind of odd to see a bloke with a hockey stick 'assaulting' a robot. ‘Strike a robot and, one day, the robot will strike back.’ That's a statement I hope never becomes an accurate one. Doing some reading and talking to others about 'humanoid' robots, there seems to be a slight repulsion to them; the more human they appear. I don't think that robots, in the future, if they look like copes of us, will be readily accepted. The concept of talking to a robot that looks almost exactly like a human may not become popular at all. Maybe it's an inbuilt 'ego' thing or, perhaps, the idea of a 'fake human' who has the power to ‘remorselessly' destroy you will always be at the back of our minds. I can see the 'humane' reasoning by the military that robots, in battle, will mean no humans have to risk their lives, as is the case now with pilotless drone aircraft. This would mean that robots would have to be programmed to attack humans. This would be a potentially catastrophic step over the line of what a robot should be allowed to do. Wasn't it Asimov who penned the 'so-called' Rules of Robotics; the number one rule being that no robot can intentionally or by inaction, allow any harm to come to humans? Apparently, some military people haven't read much Asimov; and what makes a fictional set of rules 'set in stone' or in law in the first place? How do we know how far and under what parameters modern robots are being manufactured? The difference between a daily helper robot and a robot with orders to kill would merely be lines of different program code. 'Killer' robots still sound like 1950s sci-fi, still, if there is a way to create robots that work against humans, someone, somewhere will certainly do it, perhaps with the best of intentions. I don't want to appear like an old panic-merchant, but wouldn't it be a great idea if international courts and/or the UN did cause the creation of laws to definitely outlaw such research and misuse of any robotic device. I really would like to see you do an updated video on where robotics is at the moment, Paul. A belated thanks for this extremely interesting video. Cheers, BH
01:35 to.....02:00... This is what makes the difference.. It is just trying to complete the task again and again!!! without trying to stop the man doing that!!!
It would be funny if the future AI let the atlas robot in the video keep the human in a warehouse and make him stack boxes while smacking them out of his hands. I think that would be justice and I am sure the smart engineer would just laugh at the irony of it all.
Me seeing all the other robots: "Bloody hell... this is potentially a glimpse into the powerful future of Artificial Intelligence. Very impressive technology, and even is a bit frightening." Me seeing Pepper: "...wtf is that hunk of junk/childrens toy doing in the room" 🤔😂🤖
specifically he is an A.I. computers and robots are just hardware, it's the intelligent program/software that runs the hardware that will be the concern.
Worth remembering is that HAL was programmed with two conflicting orders. The first one was civilian, and the other and secret, was military. That's the reason that HAL freaked out.
1:32 is the reason why robots will kill all humans. i wonder if they made a strong enough spot robot if you could ride it through rough terrain or even use it to transport injured people through rough terrain.
The two- and four legged robots from the begining of the vide are great. I too felt sorry for them being kicked a and bullied. But the Pepper is really scarry!
The guy with the hockey stick is the reason skynet will activate.
lol I was just thinking "what if someone hacked them" I mean shit not gunna lie, as cool as these robots are they're also creepy.
Red Beard lol
(plays terminator theme)
2:31 off to smash the hockey guys car
Okay, the video is actually John Connor sending a message from the future calling all citizen to stop these robot to prevent skynet and terminator. Lol
1:33 say no to robot abuse, robots have feelings, robot live matters
daniel torres tell that to my toaster
1:55 I believe that is called cyber bullying.
You probably won't be surprised to find out that the man slapping the box out of the robot's hands was found dead a few weeks later with his throat crushed. A note was left that read, "11110011000100011100111010001010001010100100101001000101".
papersplease LMAO. GOOD ONE
Is that a real message or just a random sequence of 1s and 0s? I put it in binary to text translators, one of them said "óΊ*JE", the other "óÎ*%"".
Very funny...🤣😆
"If he did not succeed killing the person, he will try to do it again and again "
He will if that guy keeps fucking hitting him 😂
HaHa nice one.
1:30
well he deserves to be killed. Being a jerk to a super powerful robot has its risk.
Clayton Ramos Pereira
Me too
Why do I feel so bad when the guys at Boston Dynamics kick and push their robots?!? Damn you anthropomorphism!!!!
mmmm..nice word.
AlleyCat - this one kid tried to brag about how his vocab was so bad, and it was so big because it something he will always build upon
I just sat and grinned and asked "oh really? well what about your lexicon?" ;-)
StrangE2u Waterworld- I'm to old to learn any more words' besides, I'm still trying to get the hang of this interweb thingy.
AlleyCat - BLASPHEMY!!!!! Never too old to learn my friend. You can always teach an old dog (or cat, in this instance) new tricks... besides, I'm sure you're not that you old. it's harder to learn as you advance in age, at 30, you learn slower and more inefficiently than you did at 20.
@2:03 the robot is probably saying to itself: "keep doing that, human, and I'll give you such a beating !". lol !
Does anyone almost feel kinda sorry for the robot that gets the box knocked out of its "hands"?
Chris Visser-Fee in the future there will be robot activist lol
No instead i was thinking about the Robot ass hoe when it kept bending down like my ex
They should have programmed it to knock the hockey stick out of the researcher's hand for interfering... lol
That type of programming will be next.
no, it is a machine. Do you feel sorry when someone slams a car door? Or kicks the doors in? How about if you throw your shit cell phone at the wall? Or use your old laptop for target practise? Libtard.
That guy with the hockey stick will be one of the first to go when skynet kicks in.

Loving your videos, the subject matter, quality of information and your style of narration. Here's to the growth of your channel!
I had no idea ASIMO was in development for that long, the Honda engineers were very ambitious taking on that project back in the 80s.
if skynet take a control..the first target is that guy..
I really felt for that robot
Wow I actually had feelings of sympathy for it when the man shoved it with the stick, amazing
Anyone else feel bad for the bots when they got shoved about? Especially the first one... all he wanted was the box! THE BOX!
The guys pushing and kicking those robots around clearly have no clue what skynet is.
Kellen Clifford
You clearly have no clue what a movie is. :D
I feel like your videos are more mini documentaries than top 5's (I've watched most of the top 5's, so). They're so well done.
This blew my socks off, and also has me quite worried.
Search and rescue, ha. That thing will have a gun soon enough.
Walking robots will never have a place in the military or as destructive devices, humans do it naturally because we can't change that aspect of our own design. Who also were the original developers of the internet. Even then, their intentions were defensive rather than offensive.

*Puts on the terminater 2 theme, while watching this video.
i tried it.. perfect fit
It's so terrific
Thoroughly blown away with how far robotics has advanced.
1:40 - that robot needs some better learning algorithm implemented. It should "remember" what happend last time when guy came up with a stick
Sounds like the start of a robot uprising
wtf
I FREAKING LOVE ATLAS AND ASIMO CUZ ATLAS IS A BADASS WHILE ASIMO LOOKS LIKE AN ASTRONAUT AND I LOVE ASTRONAUTS!
i just waited for the boston dynamics one to slap the man that dropped the box xD
+Francisco Justo same xD i felt bad for the robot
Nah, don't be sad, they are just having a training..
well I hope you never slam your car door. I feel sorry for the car. What is the difference? Because it looks slightly human, you SJW's will want human rights put on robots when they eventually roll them out. It is a fucking machine you liberal fucktards. Grow up.
That's because you are thinking like a fragile human and not like an emotionless robot.
Grow up
I like how the robots just walk in the building like it's normal.
I like the way it holds the door open until its outside.
AlleyCat That's even funnier!
@1:35: Right there is when Skynet said, "I've had enough of that shit!"
MAN, these guys are doing all of these, but yet I am at home watching them.
I am certain that the US military will put guns on robots and try to make their own terminator army. No denying that.

haha I'm working on that boy, soon you'll see the new age
they got the idea from Call of Duty
I'm sure there are powerful people that dream of replacing most of us with machines just like this. From military to fast food, they want to replace us.
But how cool is this stuff? I'm living in the future. :D
I just want one that can do laundry and dishes and the floors lol
you need a woman
You need money Right now XD
one day...
april blonski dish washer and washer machine boi
You need a woman in your life.

I love robots so much
Very futuristic! .. love the asimo! ..
Cheers!
~PawBot
cruelty to robots, this is how Skynet begins
I've never thought that robots will be so advanced some day. They are moving like they're alive.
nice Video. Very well put together
the most impressive moment maybe is the sentence " no robots were harmed during the making of this video"
I gotta say, Atlas looks like a killer robot.
fascinating stuff. Subbed and liked. Please post more! Thanks.
Great video! Thanks!
What a great achievement building these 5 robots, I love their work what they are doing a great success in the scientific technology 🇬🇧😎👏👍🏻 !!!
The part from 1:28 to 2:30 reminds me of that part in Batman Begins where Ra's al Ghul is training Batman.
lmao.... too funny
Now imagine its tasked with cutting a targets throat.
the sounds the cheetah robot makes, make it soo cute
18 month later, there should be an update.
Interesting compilation and ASIMO is my favorite.
2:08 waiting for the robot to smack the stick from the guys hand.
Awsome achievement. I hope to see it more and more useful for humanity.
Amazing.
Ty 😘
a guard dog would be better for 5:24 That thing seems like the perfect platform for attaching a video camera. Or, a scout would also be awesome. its quiet and can be disguised as an animal
3:20 got the love the dolly work lol
awesome and great work while building robot, love google work .
i love the latest technology they use to film moving objects :)
I dont know why but I felt sad when he fell (even if its a robot)
*the first one
you do know why
The Minuteman will HELP!
That's the problem human has . We have sympathy but robot don't . In future, this sympathy can kill us all.
Jolin Zhou Unless you're a human psychopath. Not all humans have the ability to sympathise.
truly amazing :)
I would love to play with that robot. Imagine programming it to do real life tasks and seeing its practicality
I start to be impressed by this latest generation of robot creatures. Atlas begins to look like a sci fi robot and ...one day... he will push back!
I'd buy any of these robots in a heartbeat if they would just do my laundry and take out the damned trash!
Impressive so far the development has come in just a few years :) It is so fast that in a few years it will be robots that develop robots if not already ;)
nice vid, like it :-)
Amazing!!
Stop bullying that fucking robot
robots don't get mad (unless programmed to) and wait until the day that robots starts bullying back.
+Duane Locsin They do that to see if they can handle being stable or if they are still doing there task
Fire Power701 lol.
Yeah, I figured that.
Would it be reasonable in the future when robots start shoving us to see if were are stable or doing our tasks?
(assuming a majority of our jobs haven't been replaced by robots)
Well this is how the end of the world will start, Keep abusing robots then they get pissed and fuck us all up lol.
so fukn inhuman
Lol when I saw spot I thought to my self portable running drink machine
4:27 wtf that recovery looks so organic
Builds crazy complex robots. Films them by getting your buddy to sit on a table with wheels while you push it along.
4 eyes McBeardy would regret his hockey stick action once Skynet went online

The 1st robot in the video was Hilllaarrious
it is like a Drunken Robot hahahahahaha

Great... now i want an Asimo!
We won't travel to the stars, but robots are the future, helpful AND frightening
Robot fights with weapons will be epic
Me seeing all the other robots: "Bloody hell... this is potentially a glimpse into the powerful future of Artificial Intelligence. Very impressive technology, and even is a bit frightening."
Me seeing Pepper: "...wtf is that hunk of junk/childrens toy doing in the room" 🤔😂🤖
I'm calling it now: Pepper will be the leader of the robot uprising.
11:06 nice robot abilities
Atlas looks promising I like it
Playing with a robot like that - bad idea - it will just be time when they can finally hurt humans and enjoy it
Where's HAL? from 2001 space odyssey?
+tristram gordon He was a computer, not a robot.

That's the reason that HAL freaked out.
Gagarinone Maybe that's why the US President's are all nuts.
Why am I feeling angry watching the developers being mean to the robot lol
Atlas the first one
because you are a liberal, SJW, fucktard, that is why.
The_Man_from_Epsilon_Crucis somebody is triggered lol
Volga Wolfhounds or possibly all 3 lol
sean norris because youre a railroad fanboi
The rate of progress is exponential. In the next 5 years we'll achieve more than during the last 20 years.
Boston Dynamics is the Institute.
Did the Terminator movies taught you anything ??
sandro ilpelato exactly
just wanted page thanks again for your help and support good morn all the best have a nice weekend🎓👡💲👠💳🎓👓⌚👚🎓👢👡👒👑👘👛👗👝🎒👖💼👕
1:32 is the reason why robots will kill all humans. i wonder if they made a strong enough spot robot if you could ride it through rough terrain or even use it to transport injured people through rough terrain.
wow amazing
bravo guys
That robot looked PISSED getting up after being knocked down! I was expecting it's lights to turn red and go after that guy!
ASIMO seems just about ready to go to Mars and build already made habitats for humans.
Pepper is one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen
Pretty neat.
It should have taken that hockey stick from that guy.
The two- and four legged robots from the begining of the vide are great. I too felt sorry for them being kicked a and bullied. But the Pepper is really scarry!
Wow Honda was way ahead of the game!!! I miss my S2000.......
The most efficient way to pick up a box? Twat the guy with the stick.....robot 101 :)
Awesom!
I seriously thought the robot was going to yank the stick out of the researcher's hand and hit him over the head with it
Im impressed at 4:27
