Watch both perspectives at the same time! viewsync.net/watch?v=6zlyJJdPwew&t=50.5&v=7136Hmk2mNE&t=21.35&mode=solo
Edit: You have to click each video once, and then use the unified play button in the center it'll be synced within 0.5 seconds. Mute one of the videos.
hearing both Grant's and Ace's voice twice is very disorientating
Psa: Grant has the better audio for both sets of coms so I recommend muting Aaces audio to get both coms clearly.
First time I've seen someone do this - it's a fantastic idea, makes it much more engaging than watching one then then the other, and a lot easier than doing all the setup and sync manually 👍
I think it's funny 😂
"This is a very long video and I don't expect you to watch it in one sitting."
Oh you think me that weak? *Challenge Accepted, FOR AIUR!*
No no, three and a half Aiur.
@@redif8889 i mean, after what Artanis did to Aiur it's more like three our of four Aiur i'd say
Grant: "Didn't you die?"
Artanis aboard the Shield of Aiur: "Sadly yes... But I lived!"
30:01 - in case anyone is curious. Depleted uranium is INCREDIBLY dense. It doesn’t have the spare atomic bits to make it (very) radioactive anymore, but it would be like using tungsten instead of lead for the actual bullet, but they’re using depleted uranium instead because Science Fiction. I think the increased range is a representation of being able to pack more gunpowder in a round and generate the same muzzle velocity. But if it’s heavier and moving the same speed, obviously more momentum.
So… range +1.
Or you can just say “science bits.”
mightve added damage at some point but marines dealing damage would be too op lol
Thank you for the depleted Uranium lore. Genuinely liked reading it
Deleted uranium cube
Depleted uranium is actually used in real-life bullets! Basically just by the US, because it's a free by-product of the enriching process and the US does a lot more enriching uranium than anyone else these days. Like Brian said, it's physically similar to tungsten, which is expensive, so we use it for armor-penetrating amo. Depleted Uranium is toxic, but it's poisonous like lead, not poisonous like radium.
and in case someone is interested why density and not hardness is so important. how deep a projectile penetrates depends on its density relative to the armor. that is why a lead bullet can penetrate steel armor despite being far weaker.
it gets more complicated with mesh materials like kevlar
Really should have found 11 extra seconds there
Sorry I don't make 3:33:33 videos
@@GiantGrantGamesArchives Truly, something to have shame for
You see, this is a speed run, saving 11 seconds is actually EXTREMELY optimal
Am I the only one that knows the Age of Mythology video is 3:33:33? It shows in my feed like every day.
Pretty sure that's the joke here@@raizan5946
Water half way through? My brother in Christ, I need a drink every 30 minutes.
Wait! Was I supposed drink water during Retrospectives?
I drink water once a week.
This was pretty epic. Ace started out strong, and managed to keep the lead despite some back-and-forth, but Omega was a disaster. From that perfectly placed Nuke to Mengsk's massive missile pods, and finally having to reload after losing Kerrigan.
It really is fortunate that the "save failed" issue didn't end up having much impact. There were enough technical issues already, that would have been awful.
I love how Grant was saying the attack didn't spawn and they were already on his minimap hitting the hive, and he just went on to the next two hives completely unaware. Like, there was a constant "you're under attack" alert and he was just like "of course I am, I'm fighting for my life here" lol
Woo, I love a good 3 hour GGG video! Absolutely going to watch this through and use it for background listening thereafter :D
I do the same 😂😂 mostly I find his voice soothing as background noise while I work or play myself.
Exciting all the way to the end. Very nice work, both of you. :)
Omg what an video gona start it now and finish when I get back home. Good luck and hope you win!
You are not my mother, you cannot tell me to not watch the entire video in one sitting
Damn got interrupted by meetings I guess I will have to restart the video
Just finished watching all 3 hours and 33 minutes in one "sitting" (stood up a couple of times but did not pause it and had a wireless headset so could still listen to all of it) and kind of a surprise ending that was really good
I think you really underestimate how short 3 hours is for some of us
Already had some water on my desk when the video started. Maybe I am the real speedrunner........
3:26:08 "Underestimated Earth Directorate"
I lost it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean
we still ove to watch through the whole video even if it takes 8 hours right? even tho the vid only was 40 minutes
I think its only fair
Damn why is it so dark. Would've loved to play mass recall if it wasn't so messed up with gamma and contrast.
I wonder what settings 7thAce was using since his perspective looks better.
Skipping the cutscene before the lighting comes up causes that.
What I hate in SC:MR is overused Fallout soundtrack.
Best jokes ever:
4+3!
There's a high templar in my boot!
Seriously G, you combine a soft and soothing voice with the psyke of such fun comentaries!
at the start Grant said normal difficulty but started the game on hard, or did I miss something 0_o
I don't know how Mass Recall works, so I'm not sure, but it's definetly a Grant thing to do
An offering for the algorithm gods.
Gonna sleep in to this and rewatch it an other time to see who won, thanks for always delivering amazing videos ❤
Love the multi perspective thing :)
"This is very long video and I don't-"
Me: A 3 1/2 hour GGG video?! Awesome!
Ngl, this is main channel tier of content
Wow! So nice to have water reminder at the beginning:)
It was more exciting that it appeared so close when in reality it wasn't really. Of course he had a big lead going into omega. Great video.
Ah yes player character from Brood War Zerg camping: the Cerebrate, or as I like to call her, Izsha before she was grafted in a leviathan
...I appreciate this headcanon-
"I don't expect anyone to watch it" CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Also, jokes on you, I'm into that ;)
you can't tell me what to do grant! Im watching this in one sitting without water! only soda >.>
54:55 -- just putting out there that in Archipelago sc2, optical flare is situationally really good. Works on the leviathan and Kerrigan. Not sure if it counts enough to make 7thAce laugh
If you would just wait 2 more seconds for the lighting to come up ,before skipping the cutscene, you would probably save more time playing better because you could see well.
optical flare is usually worth the energy and attention when tagging detectors but it is genuinely _good_ is when you use it in situations where vision range is a huge mechanic like dropping it on the flyers in an opposing force that is trying to push your highground or shutting down the spotting for an opponent's siege tanks. basically if there is a subset of units that are acting as spotters then it might be a good idea to drop it on them.
...it would also probably be by-the-numbers worth it to make extra medics and just throw it onto nearly everything but people don't have infinite attention and APM, hell, people don't bother researching restoration because they assume they won't have the attention and APM for _that_ and prefer to just make new units instead. the medic's subsidiary abilities are powerful and cheap in terms of in-game resources due to the medic themselves being such a cheap caster but they are generally way to player-resource intensive to be worthwhile to the point where even their autocast heal is left thoroughly unoptimized.
Top tier content.
To be fair, Grant was given ages to react to the attack on the hive. It started only shortly after he left it
2:07:50
You could also theoretically punch up at Day[9], but he's also sort of diversified into other games and only dips back into Starcraft occasionally.
Super cool premise enabled by modern modding support for older content!
This was delightful :)
BEST thumbnail ever❤
Appreciate the water break advisory
I have a chest infection and can’t go anywhere, do anything or see anyone. I’m going to watch it in one sitting, assuming I stay awake long enough.
Checkmate.
@robertreynolds1768 hey Man just wanted to say good luck with this infection. Hope you get better
@@theenchantedstorm1878 ta mate! All will be well!
What an interesting premise for a challenge.
Now I'll watch it two times in one sitting, that'll show ye!
Nice, now I got a great video for CNY
Ouch Ace... Right in my feels... "Oh we promise you'll be hireable." and Yes, they did get sued. LOL
That ending, the comeback!
36:31
I’m curious, is the extra mineral line to the left of the top hive just not worth defending?
I love this format (that i'll be watching over multiple days) but I also realize how difficult it is to set up.
You need both players to be at similar skill for the content being done.
Neither side can have extensive strategy to keep the surprises going (like for MRecall both players have general info about each mission but still do improvise constantly and don't have rigid strats)
You need both players to have few hours of free time at the same time.
I'd love to see Grant speedrunning some modded campaigns like this but there is so few ppl with extensive SC2 campaign knowledge to match Grant so that the runs would be close without Grant sandbagging himself.
3 hour grant AND ace video?? Hell yeah we eating good
THIS WAS SUPER FUN
Here’s a comment for the algorithm Mr. Games
I disagree with you (I wants to create some drama in order to have more comments for Mr Games)
So, I have to say that you're a clown !
I LIKE THIS! but why didn't you use your speedrun strats on 1st mssion?
Amazing!
Thank you for looking out for our health Grant :)
Funny how Grants early game prediction about the mission Ace will be best on was the exact opposite of what happened
Watching the synced stream it really shows just how freaking fast 7thAce is.
Epic speedru
Thanks for the fun! ^^
R.I.P. spine crawler family 🙏🙏😔😛
That sync watch was fun. Does Grant get the view from that though?
GGG: "I don't expect you to watch it in one sitting."
Me: "How dare you!? Imma watch it THREE times in one sitting!"
Water is good for you, though.
42:25 Ace confirmed, Mass Recall mutas are ludicrous.
True colors is so dark. Don't know how you managing to play on it. It's like dark brown units on dark creep with dark lighting
I can scarcely believe this!
1:51:43 bet the devs thought about it until they got the 1st clone and realized that they've created Duran Duran.
"true colors" and it's such a dark mission... so black is the only true color? xD
the whole Mass recall is pitch black and it's the sole reason I'm not playing it (I am really bad at looking at dark colors, can't use dark color schemes too)
Hey, Grant. Thank you for making your videos, entertaining and contributing to the interest of strategy games.
In the las video on the main channel you mentioned that you won't be disclosing any games you are involved in. Will you review and acknowledge that you worked on such game when they should/will(hopefully) release?
GG
Wish this video was 12 seconds longer.
hour 52.. "you must be a gamma boy" lol
Should have stretched the video out another 12 seconds. :P
1:05:55 true colors… more like no colors
thank you !
I'm going to watch this in one sitting >:(
Fuck it! watching it in one sesh!
You have no power here
Is this the one where Grant learns to save and load?
the sync is off, i dont know how to make it work either.
I watched all but the last mission live but who's gonna tell me not to watch it again.
GGG almost did it))
why almost? he won
It's weird. The lighting was perfectly fine at the ending of Liberation of Korhal at 1:03:50 but then went to crap for the rest of the recording starting with True Colors.
6:53 whose voice is this? There's the third one along Grant and Ace
the only think i kinda hate of MassRecall, is that weird color pallette the choose, i get it : to keep with broodwar looks, but broodwar wasnt that shady, mass recall feels like my screen lacks brightness.
Ooh
1:30:00 Is Grant playing at normal speed here?
can confirm the iCarly sign at 1:26:57
mia matangi
I'm a bit sad, that the video isn't 3:33:33 long :(
That would have been even better.
I am done with Starcraft 2, I am done with starcraft 2...
AND FUCK NOW I AM REINSTALLING IT AGAINNNN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Why does it look so dark and weird?
The modder who made Mass Recall had a *Vision*™️
@@Gwilly4280 either that or ambient lighting killed their parents or something.
46:50 As a person who has beaten Mass Recall on Brutal difficulty (Grant has only beaten it on Hard in his playthrough), yes. This game is ridiculously hard.
Gama male tot me pretty good
52 minutes in, and this does not look like Normal difficulty. Considering normal difficulty SC can be speed run by building almost nothing on all of these missions and they are losing 100 supply armies over and over...
If you go back to the start, you can see as Grant says "he opted for normal difficulty" Grant does not change his from Hard. The man is a beast.
Mass recall is way too dark.
I remember reading somewhere that, for Mass Recall, normal difficulty is, for some reason, equivalent to SC II brutal.
I've looked, and can't find it anywhere, so if anyone CAN find it, please let me know.
i tried to play mass recall once, but it only took a couple missions to realize the difficulty was amped up to a near ridiculous degree.
the wraith mission had enough tanks patroling around the objective to fill 150 population with missle turrets galore. with my skill level and limited unit selection the mission was legitimately impossible. when the turrets started getting goalith backup when i attacked them with wraiths while ALSO getting attack with a near unreasonably large attack wave i was just like... "nah"
Haaa
I still cant get over how mass recall is such eye cancer
It's low-key an abomination of SC1 that should not exist.
Also for a race like this, why wouldn't they go with the stable, (mostly) consistent original game. At least its fair between the racers.
if its a competition of 2 people, why there 3 people?????? this is so confusing and distracting
I found it nice to have someone bridge between the two. Grant and Ace couldn't afford to check on each other (you can hear how stressed Grant is at the beginning of Omega about not knowing how far ahead Ace is), so having a neutral observer giving a bit of shared feedback is good.
Tried to watch but this visual quality is not enjoyable.
