I might be blind, but there wasn't a "Vs the world" segment, just the four replays. The link brought me to Season 3 of guessing, not Season 4. Good episode, I managed 6 points =)
Hmm, took me 3 messages to figure this out, it looks like it's in a separate video, I spent far too long trying to guess from a 10 second clip. Wood 2 ability to follow instructions by me.
WOO WE'RE BACK BABY! I will say that I actually quite like having Harstem vs the World in the description/comments, it increases the replay value for these videos after the season is over. I do wish that there was something either in the title or the thumbnail to make it distinctly Rank Roulette, because I don't watch every Harstem video, but I do really like IDOIS, Rank Roulette, and Who Wants to be a Grandmaster.
I love this series! Quick suggestion: Can you tag the series name in your video titles? ex: Is This SILVER OR MASTERS?? - Rank Roulette This makes it much easier to watch my favorite series of your videos, and might help others too :)
Gold 1 (2) Gold 3 (2) Diamond 3 (0) Platinum 2 (3) - put me in the finals captain Lowko's gotta remember that silver/gold leaguers (like me) know that spellcasters exist but either don't know exactly what they do or we mess up the hotkeys, don't know how many times I've used blinding cloud on a group of vikings
How does the scoring work? I kinda understand but the last round confused me. They were both off by 2 ranks but Lowko got 3pts and Harstem got 5. Was it because he guessed a different division?
Maybe it's an idea to incorporate the difficulty of the episode somehow? You could use Harstem's score as a baseline average for the episode. So for example Harstem scores 13 points on Episode 1 and 8 on Episode 2. You can add a (small) modifier of half the difference, say 2 points, to the guest in Episode 2. It'd also incentivize guests to try and gaslight Harstem which could make for hilarious content.
I want score relative to Harstem to be the score they get for the playoffs. Here it would be a -1. Harstem sets the difficulty baseline making his guesses relevant, its a battle to see who beats the captain the hardest
As an Indonesian, finding Kue Lapis or Spekkoek in rank roullette was not something i'd ever expected to see LOL I never knew they were a thing in the netherlands too.
14 points today. Slightly behind both players. . . . R1: D1, 6 points. I call this a calibration game. I saw a lot of battles, a lot of decisions being made, and I was way off. R2: S2, 2 points. I feel this makes up for R1. I was thinking bronze until it went late game and they actually had a lot of bases. R3: D2, 2 points. Harstem guessed the same as me, he should be proud. (Jk, I'm proud I guessed the same as him). R4: M3, 4 points. Split the middle between Harstem and Lowko, thinking pretty much the same things they were. Hamster! Welcome back! I love this series, and I love the work you put into it. Harstem, I love how much content you put out for the community, RR was my favorite series until you came out with Who Wants To Be A GM and Changeling, but this is still a top 3 series.
Nice to see the roulette back! I've had G1, G3, D2, and M3 haha, I have an easier time with the games around my level and missed the last one a bit more. :D
I still think the scoring for playoffs should be based on relative score to Harstem's score. This would make Harstem's guesses actually matter (in this format they do not) and it would balance out "hard episodes" vs "easy episodes" because Harstem would be setting a difficulty baseline with his score
Hartsem is kind of like the pace car, so in addtion to their own score, they should add or subract what they win or lose to harstem by. So getting 15 points in a match where harstem gets 25 points, I would conclude it was an extremely tough set of replays and getting 15 points is a very good score.
The ZvZ at the end seemed to have a few occasions where you could see a player with fewer mutas deciding to stay and fight even though they had easy escapes which to me was a sign of being not great. Though, in game 2 I was impressed by the timely marine block on the zerglings running in right after the proxy hatch, so maybe single clips are not a good indicator of anything! :D
yeah I assume the marine block was by accident? Every other big battle, the terran's army didn't even move. Gold and plat players usually attempt to kite even if it's done very badly. This type of "battle watching" micro is very silver and below.
@@Name-ru1kt I don't think upgrades are a tell for leagues at all. There's so many cheesers in diamond that forget upgrades even when the game transitions. The tell for me was the terran's micro. In all the big battles after surviving the proxy hatch, his units didn't even move at all. Gold and plat usually at least attempt to micro even if it's very badly. This 0 apm micro and just watching the battle is very silver and below.
I felt like that zerg player was just experimenting and making random terrible comps. I'm surprised you faced a lot of players exactly like him. The zerg player had better than silver level macro mechanics with the creep spread and easily maxing out without floating many resources. He probably could be gold/plat if he just built normal comps instead of infestor muta. Weird archetype of player imo.
@@panner11 I felt the exact vibe you get in the league. I don't know why. It's either the lack of commitment or the lackluster macro that gives it away. To grandmasters, every silver bronze and gold are basically the same. To a platinum guy like me, 2200 and 2400 zergs are wildly different
Awesome with Rank Roulette again! Is it me, or do we see a lot less from the games? Do the contestants see more than we do in the edited version? Maybe I just have gotten used to Harambo, where we see a lot more. I wouldn't mind to see more if the contestants do that as well :)
Yeah I think they were too impressed by the unit comps. Unit comps aren't that trustworthy to tell the rank. Anyone who watches a lot of pro games, but doesn't play much is capable of making very decent/standard comps. And being able to macro decently with good units comps is enough to bring you to diamond by itself. But the execution was terrible, every fight was a just a full commit with no retreat when the tide turned even when retreating would be easy and no pressing the advantage. There was zero chance it was masters.
Im gonna suggest that rather than the playoffs be full of players that only had low points, that you also give someone negative points for beating harstem. So lowko would get 11 points here because he beat harstem by 1, and if he had won by 3 he woulda had 9. That corrects for some episodes being harder than others, and is also some proper good Dutch accounting for Hamster to do 😉 (If Harstem wins, I suggest you don’t add points to anyone’s score but just leave it as is. So winning against the host is like a bonus)

Yeah I'm asking myself the same question... Last one was in the middle of their guesses, so why does Lowko get more points? First one was weird as well.
@chtitdraco I think the goal is to score low, and right is zero, but then it is 1 for each off, but them both fitting 3 on the first one through that off
Game three, much better players. Yeah, the micro was missing in the last fight but earlier the Protoss micro'd well with the stalker pull backs. .....I'm going with Diamond 2.
terran - huge advantage vs harassment with lifting orbitals, fortresses, and repair, plus mules to compensate for the damage, and scans if they failed to build detection (which is almost always). Surabayans also took the name of the cake spekkoek and made a similar cake, kue spiku, it only has 3 layers with chocolate in the middle
Look at the dutch spelling of Spekkoek, it was due to the dutch occupation.
There are Indonesians here!?
