U Series sub is for spl only not low end bass like the x 15 :D LOL
@@________GHOST________ I thought the u series was just a smaller or cheaper series, smaller and cheaper=smaller and cheaper built. how can a cheaper smaller sub be for spl but this isn't, idk ur words are confusing u say it's for spl, not low bass, high spl typically is produced with low bass, the u series is just a cheaper sub, it doesn't have more spl than their x series

I have a single Zv5 15 in a 4.25cu box tuned to 33hz as a daily. Hands down the best sub I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of great subs. Thanks for the video!

@@chrishanley6575 It pounds so hard that my dashboard has cracks all in it now, and the rear view mirror broke off and took a big chunk of the windshield with it so had to replace that. Other than that, it turned out great!!! 😀
That subwoofer will take 6 thousand watts all day they are underrated I have two xv3 12s sundown s on 8k taramps and they are barely getting warm never smell the coils?

Im running 2 x-15s and pushing a cab 22 amp wired my subs down to 1ohm with twisted sounds 12-super cap banks and stock alternator and XS battery my voltage doesn't drop below 14V, running 0 guage wiring ofc of course and have the big three done, my box is tuned at 32hz huge bad boy custom box kerf ported and this is all in the back of my 2005 Chrysler town and country mini van!
Within a few days a slight crack in my windshield turned into a shattered mess within the 3rd day

I've got a single soundqubed hdx3 12 inch sub in a custom box tuned to 32hz powered by a Skar RP-2000.1D Amp. I don't have any capacitor or second battery or anything right now. This sucker absolutely SLAMS on my stock 90amp alternator right now in my little Kia. I do have 4 layers of sound deadener in the trunk as well. My plans are to get another battery and a 200 amp alternator and do the big 3 and upgrade to a sundown audio zx5 12 inch and get a better box. I'm definitely very happy with my setup right now though and am honestly surprised at how hard she slams with stock electrical.
Yeah love it man ! Seen the vid we’re you went to N.C. I had a d2v2 X15 like I got the v3 now same box just changed it out . I also have 2 sealed 12 pioneer’s there on old school punch 200 the 15 is on synergy audio 2.0 wfo 2250 but dynos at 3500 . These are all in particle board boxes the 15 is in two house speaker boxes put together lol ! But it’s areo ported I’ve got a birch box it needs mods I’m messing around with it now . I have not built my end goal set up I have brand new in the boxes 2 American bass x-max monsters with a nvx 8000 watt amp in the box for them and 2 sheets of 3/4 oak plywood. Plus 2 more 12” pioneers they will be sealed all 4 12s then the 15s will be ported . That’s in a 04 4Runner with a extra charging set up 1 alt 2 battery’s big one in front blue top in the rear quarter panel 1 xs power 750 amp agm 3x3x9 battery . That’s just the bass side I’ve got 4 ds18 8’s in my doors and 2tweeters from them also alpine head unit with 2 inch pvc pipe molded into top a pillers for 2 alpine tweeters cross over , epicenter, and 3 amps 400 watt 500watt and 600 watt . I’ve had every thing inside out all sound deadened 80 mil then spray in bed liner then close foam insulation new carpet the sunroof was the worse part I had to take it out make reinforcements to put in the top behind the sunroof the in the middle back angle iron pie cut to Mach the contour then welded up then screwed to the original cross bar . The sun roof mechanism had to be snapped apart in places we’re it’s put to get her added tesa tape between the joints of plastic and aluminum. Then the rubber seal cleaned real well adding a peace of thin rubber under the original caused it to seal better way less movement . My doors woe like the covers are multi peace glue spray foam screws and more sound deadening fixed then the panel behind them the inside door metal resonated . Some 1/8 strap metal cut and welded into a crazy looking x with the holes for the window motor arm rest and speaker mount connected together and sound dreading the inside and the side in we’re the window is at . There’s no more resonance in my 4 doors back hatch just a little . The whole bottom has been undercoated twice and bed liner 3 times plus all my pillers have been spray foamed . That’s all on top of 4 inch rear lift 5.5 front lift with black rhino rims and 33-12.50 17 inch milestar patagonias . I have way to much in it I do all the work my self . I’ve always welded so I made all my skid pans under it myself . Nice videos the first one and this one gotta love the bass I’ve been fooling with systems from 1992 up . I learn new things all the time it sure has changed a lot !

That level 5s a beast of a sub.. Better than these Sundown X versions but a bit more expensive. I run DC XL Elite 15s on 7k RMS
@@vasquez3769 Better how? Performance? Most definitely the level 5 is comparable to the zv5 though.
@@BenaresDarkness the X only does well in lower frequencies and the level 5 does it all... I would say the X is more like a little brother to the DC Audio XL Elites but lags in the SQ side. DC subs are all SQL meaning they're meant to produce LOUD Sound Quality... best of both worlds

Heck yeah that is a nice box bro, I have two Deaf Bonce apocalypse DB3515's and a Wolfram AW-9000.1D to go in my yukon denali with a mechman 320, limitless cyber 12k and 25ah blue and also an XS Power SB1000-31 supercap and a whole roll of sky high 2/0 ofc plan to run supercap under hood and two runs back to cyber 12k and one run separately to the lil 25ah and the 25ah will run my sae 50.4 for the mids and highs while the cyber will run the surfboard 🤷♂️🔈🔈🔈

Bro thanks for the videos and full information you have being given us, we do appreciate it. I have a question because I keep hearing negative thoughts on skar subs. I myself own 4 X15's V2's. But this new build doesn't need that pressure & prefect quality like sundown offers, but a great sound is what I do want just for a little less. My question what's your take with the Skar's subs.
They are incredible. I've had the evls and the vxfs. One vxf 12 weighs just about the same as this 15xv3. Skar is quality for sure

I need space so i just have to go with 4 zvx's 8's to pair with my sfb 8k wired down to 4ohms to run it efficiently for my Semi Truck.

2015 accord sport 2 12s wolfram AG on a O series 5k. Big 3 done 250 brand X alt.
Two American Bass HD12s in a Cherry Man Customs flush mount dual baffle ported box 45ed and sound modeled tuned to 32hz on a sundown scv4k @ 14.4v all day. This amp makes all its power at 12.4v, so not sure what they’re getting completely. Haven’t metered it. Closer to 5k I’d guess. Singer 270a alternator (the best in the business, more power at lower RPMs than the others), Xs power d6500 under hood, JL Audio XD400x4 four channel on Infinity Kappa 6 by 8” door speakers and a couple crossed over super tweets in the a pillar. Sky high 1/0 throughout and it’s all off of the stock head unit through a Helix dsp mini. Love the HDs, but thinking to try some x12s because they will work well in the same $450 after shipping box lol. Ouch.

Deaf Bonce subs are going in my 2000 range rover 4.6 HSE and I might just add two more 15's making it 4 and most likely run them in a fourth order going to be running a pitbull 20k as well

I'm running a 2400w 1200rms 15" cerwin vega stroker st152d subwoofer 2 ohm dvc wired to 1 ohm with a cerwin vega H72400.1D 1 ohm stable 2400 watt 1200 rms monoblock. Nothing fancy but it will bump pretty good. I've had many people tell me they can hear me coming way way before I pass by. And sounds clear. I'm impressed with the setup but I need more so I just bought the new X-15 V.3 D2 - Sundown Audio 2000W RMS Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer. It will be here in about 4 days hopefully. And I am going to see if this taramp smart3 1-2 ohm 3000watt 3000rms amp will do anything for it. Kinda got my doubts about the amp cause I really dont know much about the name brand but all the reviews have been that its a strong amp for the price. So im fixing to put the name to the test with this x15 v.3 D2 sub. When I saw the sub for the first time I told my wife that's the one I'm fixing to get and that's what happened. I can't wait for it to get here. That gives me time to build my box though so it really aint no rush but the wait is what gets me. I'm sure it's going to hit harder than the stroker I have but how much harder is the question. Ive only heard the stroker pro once and it hits very hard and im sure this x15 v3 D2 is probably real close to that if not better. Depending on how good of a amp is on it and how good your box is.
I forgot to give a update. This sundown audio x15v3d2 with the taramp smart 3 1-2ohm monoblock is hitting at least 2 or 3 times harder than the cerwin vega stroker st152d that I had before. I'm so impressed with this sundown audio x15v3d2 that I'm fixing to upgrade all my door speakers and amp to sundown audio. Sundown is by far the best I've ever ran in my vehicle and I don't think I will ever buy anything else. If you want some good bass the x15v3d2 is the way to go. I know they have bigger and better speakers than what I have but im just telling you what I know about. I'm spoiled now and can never go back to cheap speakers again and I promise you will get what you pay for when it comes to car audio. Buy sundown audio and you will never go wrong!

How did this compare to the SQ of the VXF's? Thinking about either getting 2 vxf 15's or sundown x 15's to run on 6k.
Vxfs sound better but not THAT much better. I wouldn't go back

Im old now, but back in high school i was beatin a pair of elemental designs 16OV2’s in the back of a jeep grand cherokee. Running two of their nine.1 amps at 1400 watts rms each wired at 1/2 ohm. Let me tell you this… i really want to get beats again but im scared they just wont live up to what i had back then, ya know??
Did you ever hit this with a decibel meter? My eD’s hit 152 db on the dash back in 2009 at an audio rundown in cleveland. If i can get 2 of these bitches that you got i have a feeling i might add a db or more to my personal record 😎 cause them numbers are more than i remember my eD’s being and bro that excursion is amazinggggg 😂😂

Nice video man. How exactly would you say it stacks up against the two vxfs? I am currently running one vxf 12 and love it but want more. I ordered a pair of new vxfs and really wanted to go 4th order but theres a video on youtube of that and the guy in the comments said it sounded like trash.. so maybe I'll just go normal ported box dunno yet. But, I have a guy who wants to trade me his sundown x15 v2 for a Wolfram 8k I have laying around.. would you say one x15 is better than 2 vxfs? I'm going for more bandwidth/musical sound. Should I stick to my original plans and go 4th order on the vxfs or just scrap the idea and run the x15? Will be powered by a synergy wfo 3.5 btw. TIA for any input also if anyone else has any recommendations let me know!! P.S. Id like to go with a set up that will still sound clean with my back seats up, I'd like to make use of my back seats lol (2007 chrysler 300c) was thinking of running the port thru the stock subwoofer location on the rear deck if I went with the 4th order design but dunno how it would sound
If it sounds like trash then he built it wrong. VXFs are incredible. I don't know if the v2 is better than 2 VXFs since they have the same power rating and stuff but that v3 is definitely better than my 2 VXFs and it's louder. Plays deeper surprisingly. I don't miss my skars at all. 4 VXFs done right should smash 1 15 Xv2

@@Kpaceguy nice, so built to the Sundown recommended spec then I’d guess? Just curious because I just ordered 2 of these and am curious how regular music (Apple Music or Spotify) sounds on them musically. I know most people run rebassed tracks, but I’m curious how regular music plays too.
@Mike I don't run any rebass. They sound amazing. I a have a lot more control over the EQ than most do with my audio control DSP. You can truly make it sound good
@@Kpaceguy Yeah I noticed in your videos mentioning you don’t run any rebassed music which is why I asked. You’re one of the few lol. I have rebassed music, but don’t want to solely listen to that while I drive, so super glad to hear they sound good on regular tracks! Thanks man.

Car is long gone lol but it's not an easy fit. The opening isn't very tall so it has to go in at an angle. Once it's in there's plenty of room

@@Kpaceguy that's amazing! My v2 x15 is hitting just shy of 144. I need to build a new box like what you've got the box I have the ports a little to small. Oh and that's a 143.8 at 31hz with 320a brand x alt 2 batteries and big 3. I'm going lithium soon after I build a new box. But my current goal is to hit anything above a 145db.

I got to admit, I'd love to get into car audio just to have fun self-destructing the car. JBL Studio 220 update: Breaking in now. I was right, the box said manufactured October 2019. I hope JBL Randomly decides to bring back the Studio 230's at a convenient time, such as when I have the money saved up. I've got other non-JBL brand speakers I'm playing with right now. The Studio 220's are waiting in line for me lol.
Regardless of how loud my car can get, is still all about sound quality
@@Kpaceguy I used to have Cambridge Soundworks PC works 2.1 in my truck. The dash was flat on the top, so I 2way taped them up there, and the sub was behind my seat. I randomly had a cig lighter power cord that worked for some reason. It was the best car audio I ever had. Portable CD player as source, I don't think I had that setup anymore after I got my first PSP.
wannabe basshead here but this is actually probably the main thing stopping me from putting a huge sub in my FRS. already has some rattles and squeaks, i don't think the thin sheetmetal could take it. what i need is a beater... and a place to park it. lol

Why is it that car subs can always destroy home theater subs?
The box that they're in and the materials that are used in the box and speaker.
Because they are in a car that's a lot smaller then a living room.mate of mine had car subs on his hi fi system for a party with the car camp running them and it was fucking awfull.
the best home audio subs i can think of tend to look like car audio subs with massive surrounds and KW rated amps. sunfire, svs, velodyne come to mind
10k rms and up amps my man lol. Waaaaay more power available and therefore the subs are built to handle it.

Since you have this sub you are just the person to ask… I just got this sub (X 15 v3).. Have you had an issue with the sub smelling and the dust cap feeling like an oven after just a few minutes of hard play? I am running mine on a Taramps Smart 3k and running a 320 amp alt that holds the voltage steady at 15v… I don’t send it any clipping…. This sub should take 3k and then some and I just don’t understand what the $&@) is going on? Have you had this problem?
If you JUST bought it then you're smelling the glue melting and breaking in. I power mine with 3000+ and have no problems. The smell will stop after hrs of break in

@@justinturner1840 no it wasn't. It never has been but keep in mind it will get hot just because of the weather
How did you come out on your setup? Did you ever solve your problem? I just ordered the same sub the x15 v3 D2 and was fixing to run it on my taramp smart 3 1-2 ohm 3000w 3000rms amp. Just curious how it worked for you and should I get a different amp for this sub.

@@Kpaceguy I hear ya...cadence doesn't have the rep they had..it become a budget brand...if you want to move that sub for little money I'd check sundowns Sia line..and the down4sounds jp23 would move it..as would the cab 22,the sundown saw sae2k you can always go bigger..like the cab 45 or scv line from sundown...just tons of options..i have the jp23 and an x12 and it's a very nice combo..

@@KpaceguyThe x-18 will do it 18hz at 149db because it will support and larger spider 11 inch vs the stock version bet you did not know that :D LOL which i have set of x-18's and 1 x-15 with a 10 1/2 inch spider with a BIG ASS AREO PORT SO TRY AGAIN YOU BOX WILL NOT SUPPORT 18HZ IT IS JUST AIR LOL
