i am glad they brought back the inquisitor, but this would've been the perfect scene to let us know what our HoF and alive Hawke are doing. It would've been so awesome if our inq was working together w/ Hawke and the HoF to stop the blight in the south. Morrigan could've mentioned Kieran is also in the south, trying to help his dad in Redcliffe while the inquisitor is working in Orlais... Hawke in the Free Marches w/ Aveline... such a missed opportunity it was hard to get thru this scene.
I said the same thing. Massive missed opportunity to tie the entire series together. Absolute fail on Bioware's part lmao. I can forgive a lot, but that is particularly egregious.

Why does the Male Brit voice sounds so deep lmao! I know it's been ten whole years since the events in Inquisition but his voice dropped a whole lot of octaves there. Guess it makes sense as well seeing as the voice now more matured and to make the Inquisitor more aged but it's hilarious either way.

It's so weird 😅 I'm still in the middle of my DAI playthrough, my male Lavellan is my most beloved DA player character, I love Harry Hadden Paton's voice work with him -- and hearing it suddenly deepen so much further as though it was recorded to fit a Qunari Inquisitor is extremely jarring 😂 I know it's not as though Harry's voice has changed that much in the last 9-10 years either. He was just in Twisters and he sounds exactly like DAI's Inquisitor there. This is going to sound so weird coming a male elf Inky's body when I eventually get to this lololol
Where tf is the Hero of Ferelden? You would think that Ferelden's own hero would've been more influential (and possibly stronger too) in Ferelden than Inquisitor who seems to be managing both Orlais and Ferelden.
in universe It's been almost twenty years since Origins. The HOF is either dead or just old. At youngest they could be in their 40's which is also around the time where grey wardens hear their calling. Also development wise, it's difficult to bring a voiceless character with no defined personality into a newer game.

However, it sucks that not a single mention is made of them in the Weisshaupt quest or otherwise in this game given that they are the greatest living Warden. They could have at least mentioned that the Hero of Ferelden re-emerged in the south to lead the Warden resistance from Amaranthine or Redcliffe or something of the like. But that's what you get when the devs are unwilling to import world states.

Being in their 40s would not be that old by Dragon Age standards, given that we have characters like Loghain, Gaspard, Wynne etc. who are about that age but still highly capable fighters. That said, I agree that bringing back the Warden would be troublesome (although a few mentions would have been welcome).

Man, I loved the Inquisitor Trevelyan you created in your Inquisition playthrough. He looked so handsome. I know people made allowances for Dorian’s new look in Veilguard because it had been 10 years since Inquisition but this is a completely different guy. Sucks that you couldn’t recreate the look from Inquisition with this game’s character creator.
Give this a try. If you speed this video up to 1.5x or even 1.75x he sounds a lot better. Then after listening to him on high speed, turn it back down to normal and it becomes SUPER obvious that he's been slowed down. I'm thinking the reason the male British Inquisitor sounds so deep here is that they slowed down his voice so they didn't have to mocap the speech a second time. Harry Hadden-Paton must have been speaking more quickly than the person who did the mocap animation. Sadly, no way to fix this in game. Rook's voice has 2 pitch levels, but not the Inquisitor. Let's hope modders can help us some day.

I put this video into MPC-HC, custom set the playback speed to 1.05x and let it chipmunk the audio and GUESS WHAT, while everyone else is slightly chipmunked, HARRY FINALLY SOUNDS LIKE HIMSELF, FAMILIAR AND PERFECTLY NORMAL. I suspect that he did lower his register SLIGHTLY for Veilguard, or was asked to, to show a difference in age (because I saw clips of him in Twisters (2024) and he didn't sound like this, it was his normal voice), but from the overly carefully pronounced words in certain lines here, I'm convinced you're right, they slowed it down ON TOP OF THAT and in the process let it lower his voice even further too. 1.05x chipmunked is just right for his voice and his voice only. EDIT: Confirmed it even further by slowing down a clip of my male Lavellan from DAI to 0.95x speed. You get almost exactly the same kind of voice you're getting from him here. RIP 💀 BOY this is going to be tough to fix... not sure if modders can do anything with dialogue audio tracks and match it up with animation

You’re telling me that the Warden (if alive) that literally ended the last blight, is not going to be mentioned at all? All this talk about archdemons and slaying dragons and defeating blights no ones is going to be mention or ask the HoF for helping if they are alive in your world state of course. Additionally if your HOF sacrificed themselves how cool would it have been to see their tomb at Weisshaupt? Would it have been hard to mention your alive Warden and Hawke rallying Ferelden and the free marches in south against the blight? Makes no sense to not mention or include them especially considering characters from Origins and 2 are present in the game such as Morrigan, Varric and Isabela. So many missed opportunities to make the world feel like yours instead of vague for the sake of “not ruining player choices” just seems like to was a lazy cop out for BioWare.
What's wrong with his voice? Also, if BioWare doesn't respect our past choices or the established lore, then I don't respect their additions/edits to them. FailHard is non-canon. They just trashed the HoF and Hawke, Alistair and Anora. They also said Orzammar is the same no matter who was chosen to be king. And Aveline is provisional Viscountess regardless if Hawke was left in the Fade or not. The Inquisitor is also despised by the Wardens even if he helped them. These "writers" had no idea what they were doing.

That’s not player freedom, that’s railroading you into certain topics. What if your Rook character in your mind doesn’t care about gender identity or politics, but they’re forced to sit there and listen to people debate it over and over.

Don’t take my word for it, but I think you can lower or raise the pitch of the voice in the character creator
