Honestly have questioned the Elven Sob Story since Origins, it seemed to rely on passively noble elves surrendering power to greed-filled shemlen and in the end we discovered The E Very not only created several of their own problems but conveniently forgot the horrors their problems unleashed upon a world they held in contempt.
@@BHRamsay its in one of the books from origins i believe (in game),the story of a female elf and a male human, it was the elves that started that conflict, it was the elves that started the werewolf curse, that was enough for me to not trust them.
People are bashing and hating on Veilguard being too bright when compared to "old" Dragon Age, yet here we have Dwarves coming to the revelation that they are rocks given life from Abyssal Eldritch Horrors that make up the world (literally) and that Lyrium is their blood while the Blight is their dreams gone mad, all perpetrated by Spirits who would become living beings called Elves, later being shackled by a traitor among their kind who would part the world yet again, this time cutting off "Magic" out and locking it away in a realm you can only reach when sleeping. Pray tell, has Dragon Age gone Warhammer40K? Now all you need are Slaaneshi ballarinas and we are good to go.
That makes situation even worse dude. Such dark brutal lore in this pathetic uninspiring mess of a game with blank characters and really badly told story itself.
My main problem is the game seems unpolished and stiff, when they were talking down Harding in her titan power bubble, they were just....standing there? Like it was MADE to look like they were fighting a great force of power or wind, but they were just....standing there no dust, no debris to even indicate that. it's small effects that would make it a LOT better. When a character falls and rolls in a cut scene it's slow, they show every frame, no snap, no dust, it doesn't even LOOK like it hurts, kinda looks like they just go for a fun little tumble. Don't get me wrong, I DO love all the new lore we're getting, a lot of it is fucking nightmarish! the story the devs have crafted is a good one, I just wish they were able to let it cook for a bit longer.
@@jakeshootsstuff8187 Inquisition had already set up a bunch of stuff in Veilguard. It’s just…whether people like how the story EXECUTES what it set up is a different story.
Can someone confirm for me if they used actual voice actors or did they just use ai? Because my goodness I have never heard such flat unemotive voice acting in my life.
This mission feels like it would be more interesting to read about on a Fan wiki than to actually play. So many important beats of this story- You're actually in a Titan! The Blight isn't the only thing that can turn Lyrium Red! The ENTIRE BACKSTORY OF THE TITANS AND THE DWARVES! And basically *none of it* is unpacked or explored or brought home or made to feel more important than how it impacts the events happening right in front of your face. Titanic lore reveals (pun intended), but nothing to bring those ideas home to make them mean something interesting. I feel like the audience is doing all the hard work of asking "What does this mean?" instead of the actual *writers* making it mean something.
we still need to know why spirits change to dark spirits, who created kunaris ( i always suspected trevinter), what is the importance of dragons to magic of thedas? what happened to hawk and the elder god from kieran ? but most important WHO IS BABYSITTING MERRYL ?
@@bladerj We kind of know what happened to elder god from Kieran - there was no elder god as archdemons are just Evanuri's pet high dragons. @@kryst8733 if you pay attention to the entire series not just veilguard you realize the whole truth about the archdemons and the evanuris. So in origins we learn when an arch demon dies their spirit possesses a nearby darkspawn and quickly mutates into a new vessel for the archdemon. In dragon age 2 we learn Flemeth hid a portion of her spirit with hawk who uses it to reconstitute herself a year after the blight. in Veilguard we learn that evanuris are spirits who took mortal form. So the only way for an arch demon to be able to reform is because the arch demons have a portion of the elven gods spirit inside them that creates a new vessel once the old one was destroyed. These fragments also become aspects of the original Lusacan god of night elgardiin god of day, sylais god of the domestic arts and Toth old god of fire. It makes sense and explains the unatural control the evanuris have over the archdemons.

Mmmm interesting team comp, 3 archers, i have done full mages team in DAI but I built Vivienne full cc and Dorian half full cc. And I have run 2 mages 2 rouges with Dorian, Mage Inquisitor, Cole and Sera. Have never tried full archers before
The game is more action and less team comp focused. As a mage though I found a heal focused Bellara and tank focused Davrin pretty much makes me immortal even on hard difficulties.
This is explained in her first mission. And again in her second mission. And her third mission. Perhaps instead of assuming there is a plot-hole with incomplete information, you should play the game to see what it actually says. :)
@@solidor_cat But Solas severed the Titan's spirit with the Lyrium Dagger though, and the Titan's spirits eventually became the blight. So how is Harding able to use "Titan Magic" when they are effectively made Tranquil and cut off from the Fade? Oh yeah, and how even is that Shade of a Titan even there when it's spirit has been severed in the first place? Unless it is a Shade Demon which then it wouldn't make sense at all being there.
@@KnotsOfWonders simple, Tranquility can be reversed. This is established in Inquisition. When Harding messes with Solas' dagger meant for bringing the Fade back into the real world, she inadvertently established a connection with the Fade, giving her dreams and magic. Moral of the story: day spent not hating on elves is a day wasted.

The moral is more: The first elves were massive dicks, ESPECIALLY to all other elves.

This is nothing compares to Dragon Age Origin's Dwarf story arc. The Broodmother, political turmoil, Branka's pride and betrayal were much darker.
Sounds more that they're retconning established lore to fit their 9 figure fanfic.

Hmm from Dragon age 2 to Inquisition the enemy theme is humans, Veilguard is Elves(sort of), so I’m guessing next game is Dwarf base
there wont be next game. the real enemy are the new devs who butchered this game
there wont be a next game after this pile of garbage

You could say the same about literally all the other entries in this franchise, like Isabela, Fenris, Cassandra, Varric, Wynne, Leliana, and more.
