What I like about this particular session that he's playing in, he plays the harmonica and the guitar at the same time.😮 He impressed me!🎉❤

What's really interesting is he singing this song when he was like 24 😮 so he wasn't getting old. But now he's old and this song has lasted as long as he has, and it will last long after he's gone.😢

I was in high-school back in the mid 1970's Neil was crushing it musically. He played at every outside, inside you name it keg party we had. Just imagine; one minute you had Led Zepplin the next Van Halen The Car's Bob Segar but eventually on came some Neil Young as a musical chaser. We had great music play by self taught musicians! Young people today really missed out my friend

@RavenFire4 I agree, most musicians truly got involved with music for the love of music, by the mid to late 80's music was about the money. While musicians we listened to in the seventies made money, it wasn't the main focus, those Seventies rockers, for the most part rockers taught themselves how to write songs and play instruments...the music conveys their passion

The man is 78 & still touring. I grew up listening to him, since I am 70. He was loved by my generation. This on is my fav, although Needle & the damage done, Old Man & Harvest moon are also great, to name a few.

When you were talking about the harmomika it reminds me of my father. He was in the Marines in the South Pacific during world bark too and he always had a harmonica with him. That was one instrument the soldiers could carry with them anywhere they went.

I think the best way to describe Neil Young is sincere. You believe everything he says because (and you can read all about it) he has never been an artist that cares about fame, money, or being politically correct. He honestly doesn't care about the music industry and has been successful for decades despite that. One may agree or disagree with his politics, but you have to respect his conviction - he hasn't changed at all in the journey from obscure artist to icon. He probably still has the corduroy jacket and boots he wore in this performance lol.

This is from the same concert that you watched recently for "Old Man". I love this intimate performance with just Neil, his guitar & harmonica. Neil is a very talented musician, singer & songwriter. He was with the groups Buffalo Springfield & Crosby, Stills & Nash in the later 60's. Also had his own group with Crazy Horse for a few years. Neil went solo & has had so many great songs over the years.

There are many great songs listed in the comments. Young produced serious historical "Ohio". "Ohio" is a protest song and counterculture anthem written and composed by Neil Young in reaction to the Kent State shootings of May 4, 1970. It is said that after seeing events on TV, he wrote 'Ohio" then and there. Of course his "Southern Man" is about the strife. Even though Young was Canadian with a journalist father, he lived between U.S. and home but saw the world bigger than both.

Your reactions are so deep. I appreciate the way you pick apart the lyrics and different musical elements and allow your spirit to go on that journey with the Creator of the piece of art. You put your energy in those shoes and feel what it was like for the Creator who crafted their art into fruition. It's a beautiful way not just hear, but experience music as a whole entity. Thank you.

My young parents had Neil Young albums so I grew up a fan. Literally on the way home from work today I played his song “Harvest Moon” from the 90’s; I think it is perhaps his most beautiful song. If you want to hear Neil rock hard and grungy, then you must hear his songs “Cinnamon Girl” and “Down By The River” 🔥. You are so right; timeless and I love your analysis that the harmonica is the country man’s sax!

I do love you take on the harmonica being the country guys sax....He did play with a group that had a sax... If you want an upbeat tune try On My Way Homr Neil Young and the Bluenotes from Blues Cafe

I’m a lifelong Neil Young fan of many decades, and I’m the first to admit: Neil’s voice isn’t for everyone. I hope you enjoyed this song and check out more of his work. You really would be hard pressed to find *any* bad songs on the following albums: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, Harvest, After The Gold Rush, Tonight’s The Night, Rust Never Sleeps, and Freedom.
You’ll notice I listed albums not individual songs. I’m for real here: wire to wire, track by track - every album listed above has genius waiting for you to enjoy it. I hope you do.
And thanks again for another fun video! I have enjoyed discovering your channel recently.
