Man has talent enough said I’ve been listening to Neil young for a long time and have appreciated his talent. Let the world hear Neil’s voice over and over again.
Neil Young is considered one of the top twenty all time greatest rock lyricists, and rock guitarists. He has a unique voice, and many great softer acoustic and rock style songs. His vocals and lyrics are touching, and play with your emotions. If you would like to hear more acoustic style songs, then Heart of Gold (searching for love song), Harvest Moon (love song), Don't Let It Bring You Down, After The Gold Rush (protest type songs) would be good choices. Rock style songs then Powder Finger, Cortez The Killer, Southern Man, Rockin in The Free World would be great choices. I enjoyed your reaction, and I'm glad that you reacted to Neil Young.
Neil Young is a master singer/songwriter .... not to mention guitarist. I love him as a solo artist as well as in a group such as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Great reaction. Take care......
When he sang, “It doesn’t mean that much to me to mean that much to you”, your mental gears had a stutter. Amazing. Glad he struck the right chords (pun intended) with you. Thank you for this one, Inna.
Neil Young is an iconic guitarist/ vocalist, born and raised in Canada... He first came to fame as the guitarist of Buffalo Springfield in 1966... the band split up in 1968 and Neil Young went solo as Neil Young and Crazy Horse... In 1969, he also joined the group CSNY (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and they became huge w/ their acoustic records... His song 'Ohio' (by CSNY) was particularly powerful condemning the Kent State University massacre in Ohio by the US national guard in 1970... Neil Young was a successful artist in the 70's in both outfits. In the 80's, Neil Young saw his music become experimental and his popularity declined in the decade... In 1989, his album 'Freedom' was a return to commercial success and he scored a hit single "Rockin' in the free world"... His music was credited by members of Pearl Jam in the 90's of inspiring the Seattle 'grunge' rock scene... His 1992 album 'Harvest Moon' sold 2x platinum... His 1993 'MTV Unplugged' went gold (half million copies sold) in the US. Neil Young has carried on recording and touring to date - he's currently 77 yrs old... His latest album 'Before and after' is due out late 2023. Other Neil Young classics - 'Heart of gold' ... 'Cinnamon girl ' ... 'Harvest Moon' ... 'Southern man' (w/ CSNY)
@@LanceThompsonKssooner - haha, as much as I'm probably on the same side as you politically, I try to separate my music interests from my political beliefs. But it was funny.
@bcpme8637 it gets more difficult every day, and I don't believe it is the good side that made it that way. Like you said. Decerning people can make logical judgments despite differing beliefs. Great song and performance, tho!
Notice how he is dressed, the same thing he was wearing at the ranch. he got in his truck and drove to the stage where he performed this song. No frills, he is not looking for fame or fortune, is very down to earth and just wants people to hear his music and what he has to say. That is just so REAL!
Thank you for reacting to this great song from our Canadian treasure, Neil Young! When you react to his song "Heart of Gold" be sure to find the version from this same concert and find the longest one you can as he speaks to the audience before playing and it shows a lot of his personality. Before you are finished with him, be sure to react to "The Needle And The Damage Done" as well!! Best wishes to you with your channel!!
Neil Young is one of the great ones. He made lots of great music when a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and also as a solo artist as you can hear in the song you just listened to They sing close harmony on a fantastic level and their album "Deja Vu" is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
Another song video you should watch from Neil Young is the song, “The Needle and the Damage Done”. The unplugged version is a good one. In 1972, Young wrote about the impact of drug abuse, especially about his musician friends, which he witnessed first-hand. At the time, many of his friends and fellow creatives were spiraling from the effects of heroin addiction. Danny Whitten, Young’s Crazy Horse bandmate and longtime friend, was among those rapidly sinking deeper into their addiction, and eventually died from drug use. A really heart felt song that brings a tear to my eye.
Neil is doing some immaculate guitar work here. He has so many great songs. "After The Gold Rush" is my favorite. Loved your reaction. Sorry some of the closed caption words were wrong, it kept saying "Oh man" instead of "old man" but I'm sure you could understand what he was singing. Keep up your musical journey, Inna!
Thank you for covering one of my favorite musicians. One of Neil's most emotional songs from that era is "The Needle and The Damage Done." I recommend it highly.
Neil Young is a legend! As part of several bands over the decades, his own bands, and a solo artist, and he's still kicking! There's another video, well I think there's videos of that whole BBC concert, but there's a video of him doing another classic of his from that performance, "Heart Of Gold", that a lot of people react to which is awesome. There's also a great, more medal cover of that song by Black Label Society. Not sure if you know BLS, but Zakk Wylde is Ozzy's guitarist, and BLS is his own band that he also does. I'm not an expert, but I think BLS has an ever-changing line up because Zakk uses BLS to spotlight young up and coming musicians he likes to let them get some attention off of his name, then they move along, and he finds new ones, but ultimately, it's his band. I'm also guessing that you might not know Crosby, Stills, Nash, and sometimes Young, but you should check them out. David Crosby, the oldest and most famous at the time, had been part of The Byrds, a seminal early rock band of the movement in the 60s, until I think he got himself kicked out of that band. Graham Nash came to California from England after leaving The Hollies. Stephen Stills had been part of Buffalo Springfield with Neil Young. All three had sort of been without a band at the time, and had been part of the Laurel Canyon scene, where a bunch of musicians from the 60s and 70s all ended up living in Laurel Canyon, an area in LA nestled in the hills above the coast, and they had a little community where they'd all hang, jam, and whatever. So, Crosby, Stills, and Nash just happened to start playing together and realized they had something going, and ended up forming a group that was pretty phenomenal, though, they didn't always get along that well, and broke up and got back together several times over decades, and Neil Young sort of floated in and out as part of the group turning CSN into CSN and Y, but would bail and do his own thing when he had enough. At this point, I think David Crosby has pissed everybody else off enough that it's not likely that they'll ever reunite again, and well they're all not likely to be with us much longer anyways. There's documentaries on all this stuff, CSN, the Laurel Canyon scene, and David Crosby even made his own a few years ago. You should check out CSNY's song "Ohio" for a classic Neil Young riff though. This was all before I was even born, and I'm much older than you, so you might not be familiar, but the song is about the Kent State Massacre, where in 1970, students at Kent State University held a protest against the Vietnam War, and some national guard soldiers opened fire on them, killing four unarmed students, and wounding nine more. Another student, took some photographs, one of which became a Pulitzer Prize winner, and one of the famous pics of one of the dead bodies ended up on the cover of Life magazine. The story goes that Graham Nash and Neil Young happened to be out at some cabin, somewhere, hanging out I guess, when they saw it, and Neil Young was so disturbed by it that he grabbed his guitar, and just walked out into the woods, and when he came back, he had written the song. Graham Nash got on the phone immediately, they recorded it the next day, and then released it as soon as it was ready, which wasn't a common thing then. There's so many great CSN, with and without Neil Young, that you should check out though. It should all be pretty easy to find since it's pretty ubiquitous. One of my personal favorites, sans Young, is "Southern Cross". Also, this is just some random trivia, but another famous Neil Young song is called "Southern Man", which is about the racism and history of slavery in the American South, which was obviously a huge issue of the times, and Neil Young felt very strongly about. I dont know if you've reacted to Lynyrd Skynyrd yet, a 70s Southern Rock band, but Neil Young being originally Canadian, I guess Lynyrd Skynyrd took offense to the song, and in their famous song "Sweet Home Alabama", they included the lyric, "I hope Neil Young will remember, that a southern man don't need him around anyhow."
This has you can see is a BBC broadcast I believe in '71'? If you can take the time to watch the whole show, really shows his talent both has a singer and a composer.
He does rock, he does folk, he does pop, he is considered the Godfather of grunge, he does it all. Watch him do Rockin' In The Free World live a the MTV music awards with Pearl Jam. Epic.
Niel Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia, Leonard Cowen and Joni Michel are all Canadians that played in clubs in Yorkville in Toronto in the 60's. I lived there at that time and it was revolutionary.
Hello InnaSolo, Very nice to meet you!😄They just don’t make em’ like this guy anymore! His songs by himself and with other famous bands(Buffalo Springfield,Crosby Stills Nash and Young,Crazy Horse) were staples on rock radio when I was growing up! Truly one of a kind this man. Lyrically and musically he refused to be put in a box. That’s why he’s one of my personal heroes! Might I suggest a couple of my personal favorites that I think would really enjoy, one from his younger days and one from a bit more recently.”Cinnamon Girl and Harvest Moon!” The two together I think just begin to show his versatility musically! Enjoy✌️🫶❤🎶
You're so expressive Inna and accurately so, I might add, via your interpretations of the music you have chosen to feature here on your channel. Bravo!
Great reaction Inna - thanks! AS you loved this song check out Heart of Gold from the same live performance. And if you want Neil Young Rockin in the Free World then try Cinnamon Girl with Crazy Horse ;)
I rocked out and saw Neil for his Rust Never Sleeps tour.. if you want to hear him rock out. I also love his techno "Sample & Hold".. he even does doo-wop, very versatile
Listen to the Needle and the damage done, Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River, Southern Man, I believe in you, Look out for my love, Heart of Gold, Cortez the killer, Alabama, Helpless, Down by the river great classic songs by Neil Young
Neil Young was one of my favorites growing. He had so many hit songs.Love it too when he plays harmonica in some of his songs.I think he had a special bond to that old caretaker and he was like a father figure to him.Now I guess you can say Neil and me are the old men.
I saw him do a solo concert on a wooden stage with a mic on the floor to pick up his stomping feet as a drum beat, his acoustic guitar and an harmonic which was around his neck on a metal holder that allowed him to play harmonic and the guitar. It was amazing.
There is a group called Crosby Still and Nash. occasionally they teamed up with Neil Young to form CSN&Y. There is a song titled Southern Cross that is outstanding. I dont remember if all four sang on it .
Great reaction to this performance. There are so many great songs you have ahead of you. For a similar vibe try Heart of Gold. Also try Powderfinger, Hurricane, Cortez the Killer... so many more...
I'm a big Neil Young fan, I saw him Live several times in the 1990's. So many good songs to explore, but Cowgirl In The Sand comes to mind for Neil rock'n with Crazy Horse...
Neal came out of Canada to Los Angeles in the 70's about the time another Canadian artist took the music world by storm and that was his friend Joni Mitchell. They both became artist with great talent and that could bring their ideas and talents to a world that was changing and ended up adoring them for a long time. Neil played for a period with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, all singers great and talented that had great harmony, wonderful talent and a vision that captured the world for a decade or more.
I met Neil Young as we were both waiting on a plane around Midnight in the Detroit Airport. He was so down to Earth and we talked for about twenty minutes about everything except music.
Creating such amazing, simple songs is what makes geniuses like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Jack Johnson and Oasis such incredible songwriters.
Long versatile career from amazing artist who kept reinventing himself. Acoustic soulful ballads like this and with Crosby, Stills and Nash. Rock anthems with his band Crazy Horse (“Rust Never Sleeps” album a personal favorite).
My favorite Neil Young song is Harvest Moon. It's a love song about a couple growing old together and it's basically the story of my relationship with my wife. It's important to both of us.
Perhaps after hearing so many great artists from the '60's and '70's for the first time, you can understand how so many of us old baby boomers feel that was the golden age of music.
This was performed in 1971 at Massey Hall...Neil played this before it was released on Harvest (the album)...can you imagine seeing him live and he just plays this song for the first time??...hasn't even been released yet!!! He is amazing...one of greatest songwriter's of all time...folk/rock...check out "Needle and the Damage Done" which i think he wrote after Jimmy Hendrix died from heroin overdose...when he plays it at this show, it also had not been released yet...he also plays same song about 20 years later on MTV unplugged and i've seen that one on UA-cam as well...thanks and hope you can react to more Neil Young... you will not regret it
Have you heard of the band "White Lion"? "When the Children Cry", is a great song... I just found you here, reacting to a great song... I will subscribe and look forward to your reactions... Awesome job! Nice Doggy!👍
Enjoyed sharing that with you, but did any one else struggle with the inaccuracies of the the lyrics. Primarily , Oh man! It's Old man! For crying out loud the song is called Old Man !!
There's a version of Heart of Gold from same performance you MUST see...but roll it from the beginning and you see a little bit of the man himself peeking from behind the "curtain"
If you like that there's a WHOLE lot more to explore.Neil solo, Neil with Crazy Horse, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Buffalo Springfield. He even did an album with Pearl Jam as his backing band.
Neil Young has a Huge catalog of songs covering all genre's of music and all of it is good, but you liked this one then I highly recommend his song Sugar Mountain
I have loved Neil Youngs music for a long time going back to Super group Crosby Stills Nash and Young to his solo career but not really solo the band was Crazy Horse songs like Sugar Mountain, Hey Hey my my, Into the Black the way Neil and Crazy Horse dance with their guitars is classic. Than you still have Neil solo like Southern Man and Heart of Gold. Some even credit Neil as a founder of grunge, with songs like Rocking in The Free World. Neil is one of the best that ever did it.
Hi Inna, I have either been a Musician for years or on UA-cam for less but either way it brings Music to people and they can decide if they like an Artist or Band. I have many Musicians who I like or have met. I'm 65 and led a Great, Wild and Interesting life and I shared some of it with my 3 Children but I can share it with you too😁

Neil Young can do it all……country, folk, rock and grunge before there was grunge…….incredible song writer with tons of hits……too many to list

Cinnamon Girl was the first time I took serious note of Neil in the early 70s. Live Rust, well, made me a fan for life.
Another great song!!!
Imagine being the Rancher-“Old Man” and hearing this song on the radio that was just wrote about you.
Creating such amazing, simple songs is what makes geniuses like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Jack Johnson and Oasis such incredible songwriters.
I was a young man listening to this song. Now I'm older, and I can say that I am a lot like I was.
Neil Young, named The Godfather of Grundge.
Haha ive never heard that before
Uncle Neil
Long versatile career from amazing artist who kept reinventing himself. Acoustic soulful ballads like this and with Crosby, Stills and Nash. Rock anthems with his band Crazy Horse (“Rust Never Sleeps” album a personal favorite).
Great song glad you liked it.
My favorite Neil Young song is Harvest Moon. It's a love song about a couple growing old together and it's basically the story of my relationship with my wife. It's important to both of us.
One of the top selling recording artist in the history of recorded music.
Taking over the room with an acoustic guitar is a special talent.
Perhaps after hearing so many great artists from the '60's and '70's for the first time, you can understand how so many of us old baby boomers feel that was the golden age of music.
gorgeous tune the acoustic guitar in this is bad ass
Neil does country, folk and rock and does it all really well.
This was performed in 1971 at Massey Hall...Neil played this before it was released on Harvest (the album)...can you imagine seeing him live and he just plays this song for the first time??...hasn't even been released yet!!! He is amazing...one of greatest songwriter's of all time...folk/rock...check out "Needle and the Damage Done" which i think he wrote after Jimmy Hendrix died from heroin overdose...when he plays it at this show, it also had not been released yet...he also plays same song about 20 years later on MTV unplugged and i've seen that one on UA-cam as well...thanks and hope you can react to more Neil Young... you will not regret it
Wrong. This is BBC, England. Look at the screen. I've seen the full BBC show, it's been broadcast for many years.
Uno dei mostri sacri del Rock. Grazie Inna e un bacetto alla tua cagnolina Kira
For lyrics.....Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bread, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Rush......
Neil is one of Canada's great musical and poetic treasures!
There's a version of Heart of Gold from same performance you MUST see...but roll it from the beginning and you see a little bit of the man himself peeking from behind the "curtain"
Harvest Moon is a really nice one.
Old Man is a type of song that when its over, you sense a privilege of hearing it
He did write this song about something in his life he bought a ranch from 2 attorneys and there was an older man that lived on the ranch
That song is on an album called Harvest (one of my first). I think you'll like it ✌️
Nice reaction glad you enjoyed
A Canadian musician who was part of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young for a while. You should listen to Like a Hurricane and Heart of Gold too.
A proud Canadian who left his mark world wide. We are so proud of Neil. Check him out more , he was amazing !!!
ah, a Canadian treasure. Peace and Love from Canada. ❣
4:06 4:10 Darling, listen to Crosby,Still,Nash, and Young! Its a band that Neil Young was in.
Many great songs with 1 guitar 1 harmonica and 1 voice.
This should be the number one song on the Billboard charts.
Hi Inna, I have either been a Musician for years or on UA-cam for less but either way it brings Music to people and they can decide if they like an Artist or Band. I have many Musicians who I like or have met. I'm 65 and led a Great, Wild and Interesting life and I shared some of it with my 3 Children but I can share it with you too😁
This was my favorite song in highschool.
Anything from that particular concert is good to react to.
