    Here in Lithuania it was available two days ago, my local shop where friends work had 5 units of GIGABYTE 3050 Price was 492euros and it was sold instantly. Funny how something like GTX 980 TI from 2014 performs similarly but 3050 cost as much :) Nvidia's phrase "You buy more you get more" didn't age well....

      Yea, after that Nvidia has never made another budget card. I know that tons of people bought the 1050Ti scam card and have spent their lives playing at garbage frame rates rather than getting an AMD card.... Even the GTX 1650 offered lower performance than an RX570 in alot of scenarios.... Now the 6500XT is the first "budget" card in a long time and it still doesn't really exceed the RX580 for around the same money 5 years later.

      There are two variants of 3050
      The one that's released now is based on cut down 3060 dies (GA106) and will be probably one time only.

    • @pottingsoil723
      @pottingsoil723 2 роки тому

      Ya I hate that. I get that it's useful for pushing cards to their limit to chart their performance but it heavily skews the results.
      For example a GTX 1060 might get ~75 FPS @ Medium/High settings and barely 40 FPS at Ultra and yet there's only a slight increase in visual quality between the two, or perhaps you have to sacrifice something dumb like volumetric fog or not use things like TAA.
      Conversely, something like an RTX 3080 might get 157 FPS @ Medium/High settings and 110 FPS at Ultra (theoretically, same game as the GTX 1060)
      So it makes the GTX 1060 look way way worse than it actually is. Like I said, it skews the results and doesn't show good real-world examples, which makes people think they NEED those 80-class and 800-class cards to get an enjoyable experience.

    You should talk about FSR as well for games like Far Cry 6 and others that supports it would be nice

    I'd like to see a follow up on this card using NIS with higher graphics quality settings.

    "thundermaster"......... Sounds like the nickname for the kid in a summer camp who broke the loudest wind. Nice review!

    One thing that is not discussed is the height of the card which is taller than the case bracket. It makes fitment to smaller cases quite challenging.

    Great vid as usual! I've just managed to bag the non-OC version of this card at RRP so looking forward to testing it out this vid was useful. Question - I was thinking about putting this in my sons rig, he has my old components an i5 4690k and a Gigabyte z97 gaming 3 motherboard (pcie 3 x16 I think and I have a pcie wifi in there too) Would the 3050 perform ok in this older rig or would it be overly bottlenecked/hampered by the cpu/board? He's running a 1050ti currently.

      for full hd i think 3050 will be bottlnecked by cpu. if you have 1440p screen, then you should be ok.
