      Yep we "calibrate" the tape measures here every wednesday, basically just check to a machined piece of metal, the ones we have are 4 inches. You check to make sure that the ends are fine. 2 years with mine still perfect, the other guy who cheaped out was off a bit after 3 months. Also I rarely drop mine and take care of my stuff whether cheap or on the more expensive side!

      @onecalloused had mine with NIST once, our job has a 1/16th tolerance, but when I have down time and make things for myself, i get things to a 1/32 or less. But generally for most regular things just a machined piece to check will do. Though for the most part, if you use the same exact tape for all the measurements from start to finish will work fine. But when I want something to fit perfectly at my house, i like making sure all of my tapes read the same haha

    For people complaining about the price, you need to first determine if this tool will result in time savings. If your billable rate is $100 per hour, and this tool costs $250, then this would pay itself if you can reduce your labor hours by 2.5 hours. If it saves that amount of time, or more, then this investment makes financial sense. If not, then dont buy it. The analysis is very simple, so think about how this would improve your specific job.

    • @tylerbach3519
      @tylerbach3519 16 днів тому +7
