This interviewer is so cool and enthusiast about the product, that's really cool to see someone excited and different than other one who look like dead fish when there are interviewing :)
Yeah I think it's pretty obvious that he would be there asking the same questions and being just as excited about the synth if there was no mic and camera haha. :)
One thing that wasn't clearly mentioned is if they've added a way to hold a note across multiple steps. That's one pet peeve I have with the Medusa is that you can retrigger the same note across multiple steps, but you can't emulate pressing and holding that same note for say five steps or whatever. The only workaround is to slow the tempo down and make the envelope turn the note into a longer sound. I'm not a professional music guy, so I'm not even sure if my comment makes any sense to anyone but me. :)
From Dreadbox's Medusa firmware update page (found here: polyend.com/firmware-update/ ) - Note TIE (note length) and RND (change note in a selected scale in a range of two octaves) per step. When in the Grid mode editing notes, click the encoder once to use Tie and twice to use Random. - Record note length in live record mode and in the incremental mode. Perhaps this is what I was hoping for.
does anybody know whether it's possible to use medusa to play other synths via it's grid including all the parameters: X/Y/Z (velocity, pitchtune, ...)?
VINYLSELEKTAZ it's excellent without them. With all the random functions and other performance functions, you can take on sequence and build a whole tune with one track - and that's how you play a synth vs produce on one.
its so soothing to have people that know what they are talking about showcase products and at the sam time do it in a pleasant and understandable way
i ordered it yesterday on a whim and seeing those updates.. man, i can't stop smiling :D awesome updates!!
I'm with you, I wasn't aware of these 2.0 updates either. Very interesting stuff
Had the chance to check out one of the first Medusa units last year. It is amszing how they improved this already fantastic Instrument.

That machine would be excellent if it had 16 tracks

Due the way is made the pads should be RGB colored.
Looked interesting....until that price tag...No thanks!
wow...what an affordable synth...
It wasn't sarcasm.
For what it can do, for the price, it's affordable.
Take it easy on the volcas ;)
