- Ahoy Legends, this week is a local fishing adventure full of surprises and timely reminder that despite what you think you know, the fish make the rules! I head out with the plans of catching some snapper right on dawn, but when the bite never happens, I get left wondering what plan B will be. It's only by sheer luck that I stumble across a very out of the ordinary hot bite! And then top the video off with some fish filleting and a sashimi showdown between two top level fish and my team of elite judges!

Mate I had my first crack at trout sashimi last weekend. In Fitzroy reef no less. It was awesome but what I’ve found with all sashimi is the less in the condiments the better. Sushi ginger is also awesome.
Couple of beautiful kids there Sammy nice fish.
Here in NZ we can take snapper from 300mm up no maximum size but most sportsman let the big ones go when possible
Here in QLD where Sammy is fishing the rules are limit of 4 per person with no more than 1 over 70cm / 8 per boat with no more than 2 over 70cm (with 2 or more people on board)

Get a portable vacuum packer. Fillet and vacuum pack your fish and change your ice each morning.

hey mate, what transducer would you recommend for coffs harbour area,just usually offshore in about 20-70m, I fish top with livies and bottom for snapper etc

When one leaves the bail open does the lure end up on the bottom?
I would say the one that got in to the bottom was probably a 40 pound cold beer I mean cobia

Tweed is very similar to gold coast similar and much closer.
The Gold Coast bar can be very dangerous when the swell is big and rough, but you shouldn’t be out there in those conditions anyway! If it’s a nice day the seaway is great to use 👍👍

Yes they can show blood and gore in video games and movies etc but not what it takes to provide for your family and how to keep the meat in it's best condition
