I just got home from work, cracked a cool refreshing beverage and noticed your new content. The vicarious living has commenced. What a great afternoon. Cheers Sammy and thank you.
Tip with your Yammi Sammy - the throttle toggle on the lever - drop you revs to 600rpm then activate this speed control lever then toggle down and you will see a percentage bar on the display screen - lower the percentage to say 50% and the motor will idle and be half time in "F" and half time in "N" - I let the boys know same place and they will probably tell future buyers this feature now - you'll be impressed with this additional feature for slow trolling - cheers.
Great session mate, gotta love snapper! It was super interesting seeing you catch that mackerel on the hardbody while DRIFTING! Never seen that before but makes sense. Nice! 👌🎣
Another cracking vid mate. Motivating me to finish the maintenance on the boat and get out amongst it.... but if you are feeling generous, don't forget you can drop down the fillets down the road....!
Hi Sammy, great video. Can you give us some information on the fish bag you’re using? How long it holds ice , durability, is the zip waterproof etc ? Cheers
It's got me buggered why we don't have a 4-fish limit in NSW. 10 fish is way too many. I've got a slot limit on my boat of 40 to 60cm too. Fecundity of Snapper is off the charts as they bigger. Your average 35cm fish will lay about 20,000 eggs, your 70cm fish will lay upwards of a million. pretty easy to figure out which ones to keep.
Missed replying when you first posted.. sorry. Agree 10 is too many. Apart from killing breeders, it's just too much meat, and fills the freezer too fast. It's also a lot of food prep work at the end of the day. Better to set a target of what fish to keep before heading out, and see if we can be that cheeky. Those big fish just need to go back, and we know it...
Any Brissy based legends got room for one more? Got the gear & boat ticket, not the boat 😢 I’m south side, will travel 🫡 39, English, won’t mention the cricket 😂
Great video Sammy.. one question though.. do you have a problem with your snapper having soft flesh when cooked this time of year (late August) possibly due to being post spawning?
A Sammy I am at victVictoria point for a few days not a clue where to fish any hints how far from peel island is good for a couple snapper please my name is Kerry I’m from Tathra nsw
Sammy, that second camera angle is horrendous. I don't need to be looking up at you when you're fishing. I get it, you're trying to conceal your fishing spots, but this is just ridiculous.
Can't show brain spiking and quickly dispatching the fish, but, perfectly ok to show somebody holding the fish up, talking away and taking selfies while the fish suffocates terribly. UA-cam has some real issues with its chosen moderators, sorry, demonitisers , all about reasons to keep the profit inhouse as the adds still play.
A fish will happily swim away after being out of the water for a few minutes. No harm done. Brain spiking and bleeding on the other hand, fish have trouble recovering from that. That’s the difference and possibly why UA-cam have made the decision to not show it.
I had a conversation with the inventor of procure a few days ago and we talked about putting a ziplock bag in your pocket with some procure in it and every few casts you just drop your bait back in the bag and work the procure coating the bait then put the bag back in your pocket quick and clean. No mess and bait is totally covered with a thin film
@@thegrouperking Or, you can just squirt a very thin worm onto the plastic and work it in with your fingers. Compared to chopping bait etc. no mess to worry about anyway
Good stuff Sam.
I didn't realise how much I missed catching snapper during the closure until I saw you out there.
You should have heard my "shoe" going off this morning Sammy. Bloody shocker!

Nice new outboard! Do you still have to “run in” new outboards these days?

You really need a T-top for your boat, so much benefit from them!
Crazy
Love the videos Sammy. What GoPro lens/set up do you use?
Great video Sammy.. one question though.. do you have a problem with your snapper having soft flesh when cooked this time of year (late August) possibly due to being post spawning?
No slow pitch gear for snaps Sammy?
sammy holding his baby, the stella in his hand while old gold sits in the rod holder 😅
You did nothing wrong, you handled that pretty well.
Sam, could you explain for us less educated newbys what you're looking at on the sounder, please?
Mind if I ask Sammy… what cameras are you using for your vids ??
Hey mate. Loving the videos, do you do on water fishing coaching or willing to do it?

Wow! Can’t show people how to humanly dispatch a fish. I swear we are going backwards as a species.
