I'm doing fine art myself, not professionally yet. But getting close. I wouldn't wanna do comics at all. Comics are like the beginning of art, but consider who your fan base will be.
I’ve been trying to be an comic artist too my inspos are manga artist I like comic book artists too but I like stylized artwork like animeish but not a hundred percent manga art style
Good list! Idk how I missed this vid, lol. I luv "top 10 artists lists"! Solid choices-- Sorrentino, Jiminez, Mora, & Gerads(loved his work on "The Punisher" a few yrs ago w/frequent collaborator, Nathan Edmondson), & the rest are all some talented folks, for sure! I don't have Top 10 off the top of my head; but I'd definitely have to put Martin Morazzo(from "Ice Cream Man")in there. Luv his his sort of fine, elegant, relaxed, line that straddles economy & detail perfectly! His work reminds me a bit of that of the fantastic Frank Quitely. I can't recall when their initial release was-- and they're technically Manga-- but I'm an UBER-fan of the can-do-no-wrong Junji Ito(in my Top 3 artists of all-time list)!🙄So I'd 100% put him in my top 10 due to his stellar work, as always, on the beautiful hardcover Viz Media releases over the last yr of the terrifyingly grotesque anthology collection, "Smashed" & the took-disturbing-to-new-levels "No Longer Human"(an adaptation of a mentally ill Japanese author's-- whose name eludes me right now-- book that is often cited as the writer's "suicide note", so-to-speak)! The guy really did drown himself w/his girlfriend soon after. Tragic story. The only other Top 10 artist I can think of off the top of my head from the last yr(had dental work today on a cracked tooth & the pain is affecting my ability to think clearly-- which my brain isn't great at to begin with🙁) would be Mark Stafford. His art on the graphic novel that would be his (3rd? I think?)collaboration w/David Hine, called, "The Bad Bad Place". His art is uniquely stylised-- being on the cartoon-ish side-- yet his characters, as well as environments can look... "off" in an uncomfortably exaggerated way(sort of like how the legendary-- not to mention *another* one of my top 3 artists of all-time-- innovative, artistic god, Richard Corben does... sort of, lol)& is *very* good @ portraying a sense of foreboding, ominous atmosphere! That's all I can think of right now🤔But, again, great list! Keep the Top 10s comin'! I luv ranking & rating comics/graphic novels, artists, writers, etc!😉👌🏻
Liam Sharp did a very underrated book that sadly didn't get its second volume, The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman, a simple story, seems more like a vehicle to showcase the love of Celtic fantasy and myth, but the art is just amazing and nothing short of gorgeous.
Great vid!! Sorrentino is awesome. And I love mister miracle. I’m gonna get on Justice league. That artist was amazing on A-Force. Jorge. I love all these artists. The guy who does Bettie Page is also brills. Julius Ohta. Joelle on Catwoman and Lady Killer. Azecata, the artist for Outcast! And Elizabeth Breitweiser, the amazing colorist for Outcast.
Artis: Joe Jusko Boris Vallejo Eleuteri Serpieri Alex Horley Gustav Dore Bruce Timm Greg Horn Petar Meseldzija Arthur Adams Earl Norem Simon Bisley Dan Brereton Jason Edmiston Gabriele Dell’Otto
No joke, I was thinking about reading the DD run to see if Checchetto would make the list, but I didn't have time and I didn't want to make the decision in a rush. I will definitely give it a look though!!
Jim Lee was hardly mentioned. He makes real good straight lines A straight line lover's delight. Love all those tiny little lines. Jim Lee, he draws super heroes real good. The 40 year old owner of my comic book shop says Jim Lee draws real good.
@@luismangiaterra1031 tbh not really he’s a good artist tho imo my fav artist is personally David Aja and Jesus Saiz I like more indie art styles theres also the artist of berserk and the artist of death note
Most of this art looks traced, they take 3 different photographs, clip them. Use like this: 1)clip the background 2)clip the middle, paste over background. 3)clip the foreground, paste over middle and background. Now trace it and you have a new comic book panel. I'm more impressed with the coloring but that's done on the computer so that's not by hand, some of them can probably do it by hand, judging from their knowledge of it.
