Ruger 10/22 HOME DEFENSE MAN STOPPER?!?

- December 2016 - Ever thought of using a Ruger 10/22 as a man stopper, if not maybe it's time to consider this widely popular rifle as a defensive weapon in your home. Seems like 1,000 grains of lead in less than five seconds has to do more than just sting. Note - This video was spur of the moment and I was using was bulk ammo (specifically the Federal AutoMatch) and did encounter one jam. If I were going to load up for possible self-defense use with a .22LR then I would go with CCI Velocitor’s, CCI Mini Mag‘s or CCI Stinger’s for which I have never had a FTF or FTE. I would not count on the reliability of bulk .22 ammo. Also keep those mags clean. 22LR can dirty up some mags so cleaning your mags on occasion will go a long way towards contributing to the reliability of your firearm.
My instructor said: "People criticize 22 stopping power but none will volunteer to be demonstrate."
Absolutely correct
Just as I was getting out of the Army, in 1970, a moron in my unit accidently shot another guy in the unit with a .22 revolver. I don't know if it was a short or long rifle round, but when I visited the dude in the hospital to say goodbye, he said he was very miserable. Besides the IV, he had an NG tube, so my guess is that he had abdominal or stomach damage. To paraphrase a well-known saying, "It's not the size of the round in the gun, it's the size of the wound in the body."
@@MaxEPR - That sucks

No sweat. I saw my grandad give two barrels to a prowler on a powder coach model full of Rocksalt. Boy oh boy.

I use a China Lake for home defense.
I have a collection of handguns and rifles of different calibers, but if I find myself with just my Ruger 1022 in a home defense situation, I would never feel outgunned. I like them so much that I have 3 of them. Good presentation.
It is just so easy to be deadly accurate with a 10/22 and especially with repeated shots that I do think it is underappreciated as a possible home defense weapon. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@bigaarmory100 This gun with binary trigger is a game changer. Can shoot semi mode for hunting and binary for defense, plus cheaper to feed than 5.56.
@@benthere404 - I bet a binary trigger would be awesome in a 10/22
I have 3 as well. Great rifles and not expensive to own or shoot.
22LR and 22WMR are some of the most underrated home defense rounds out there. Most aggressors will turn tail as soon as their hit once, let alone twice, not to mention 15-20 times....
Not to mention youll still have your hearing and night vision. A 9mm or a 40 in an enclosed area is quite an assualt on the senses.
Definitely agree with you. Criminals and intruders are looking for victims not a fight.
Your not running after 15-20 of them let alone 1.
The follow up shot placement is broken I agree, but the rimfire rounds are not the most reliable for defensive situation ammo.
@@mchankerhoff853 Say that to a methed out zombie. You're not running away if you are a normal person, but some people are completely disconnected from their senses.

My neighbor shot and killed two home invaders 5 years ago with a Marlin Model 60. No charges filed against him.
Two home invaders stopped in their tracks is a great testimonial to the potential effectiveness of round. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Most underrated caliber in production!
I think you are correct 👍🏻
Still...till this day. I have never found anyone willing to get shot by a 22.
Yep
And you won't!!!
So there are some 22 rounds called calibre. They are primer only and the projectile is like 20 grain. They get up to like 500fps. I have willingly shot my foot with a boot on with these rounds. Alcohol may have played a part in this. I have pellet rifles that I would not try that with. Just saying....
Unwillingly shot with a 22. Let me realize real fast that most folks don't understand how debilitating that wound still is to me.
I’ve suggested this before. Also to the (often) same guys who swear 12-gauge birdshot at 20 feet will barely leave a mark.
My ex was an ER nurse and saw many, many people in the operating room with devastating internal damage from .22 rounds. The off duty cop that works bar security in town says the same thing. If they weren't dead when he arrived, they were begging for an ambulance to go to the hospital. The salespeople at most gun shops will try to upsell you to a gun 3x the price with ammo 5x the price by downplaying the .22's lethality. That is just the name of the game. The CCI Velocitor will absolutely wreck you.
My ex is also a nurse and told similar stories. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way saying the a .22LR is as good or better than larger caliber rounds for stopping power, but it will certainly get the job done if it’s all you have. Additionally smaller stature people will find it far more manageable to remain on target with a .22LR when firing rapid rounds at a target.
@@bigaarmory100 I have a G44 and a G43x. I prefer the G44 much more than the G43x for its weight, and low recoil. My shot placement during rapid fire is almost perfect. That is just me, and I am in no way a maximist for one caliber over another. If it works for you, perfect your craft with it and carry it.
@Zinger3030 that's right bro Explain it like this ,, Ever tossed a marble into a bucket ? it spins round and round 3 or 4 times, when a .22 hits a human head it spins around inside the skull roughly 10+ times, it most times doesn't unalive you but it leaves you living in a home in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives. Not many people know this but I thought I'd put it out .
If I'm not mistaken, more people die from 22 cal than any other in the states.
@@wayno-ms1gm your full of shit too. It’s proven not to tumble in a scull

I don't get it either. I wouldn't want to be shot by a .22. I used to carry an LCP in .380. Many internet folks were of the opinion that .380 is just going to bounce off of more than one thickness of T-shirt I would say they think the same of .22.
Woodrow 103 👍🏻
Ive had people laugh at my naa mini, none volunteer to have a .22 in their gut though lol. I don't advocate it for carry, it just sits in a coffee cup to get me from my desk to my safe.
The Ruger 10 22 is lethal.
Never underestimate its effectiveness.
Absolutely
The 22lr is lethal. It's the perfect training and carry round. With low recoil, it can deliver the most on-target rounds in the shortest time. This elevates the 22 to super-lethal. Although stopping power is a real thing, target acquisition speed and accuracy are much more important. These are only several facts why more people lose their life to 22s.
Far too many people underestimate the 22LR as a viable caliber to inflict permanent and even lethal damage. Thanks for watching and commenting.
"Stopping power" are you suggesting that you can take a .22 anywhere and will keep coming? You going to hulk me? I think you'll either stop, fall, or flee.
Great video and thank you for being the one guy on the internet who realized 22 rapid fire is how you'd shoot it and it would certainly stop the threat
JBW 1959 - With a 22LR it’s kind of like digging a hole. The more you dig the larger or deeper the hole gets and with a 22LR it’s really easy to keep hitting the same hole with rapid succession. Thanks for watching.

My all time favorite is the 22 . Got one when I was 12. Got good with it and stayed good with it. Keep a 22 and a bow.
Can’t argue with that. A 22LR is a great rifle.
Even with a .22, if you go for the facial triangle, sternum, or groin, the nervous system doesn’t care how small the bullet is that damages it.
You got that right 👍🏻

When I was 12 years old I was accidentally shot through the torso by a .22LR that first went through a leather holster. This came from a worn out Ruger MK1 pistol. I suffered a broken rib, punctured lung, shattered diaphragm, shattered left kidney, shattered spleen, and the bullet stopped 1/8" inch from my spine. I was about 8' from the gun when it went off. I came about as close to bleeding to death as you can without dying. In my opinion a .22LR is just about all you should need for home defense or personal protection inside of 3 or 4 yards.
Sounds like you were both unfortunate and lucky at the same time.
@@bigaarmory100 You bet. It was my older brother's gun and he was putting it away. I put it on his dresser and it was loaded, on safe, in the holster, and went off without him touching it. I was just an old worn out gun he bought from a cousin that had been used and abused for far too long.
"Need" is a weird term to use. Sure that little slug can kill someone instantly under the right circumstances but there's a reason cops aren't running Keltec 22s with 30 round mags.

And that statement is VERY true. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Right! I know a guy that was shot in the chest from a few feet away by a .22 pistol... he's a pretty big guy at 270 lbs, he's still alive even 30 years later but that instant he got hit was the absolute end of that fight! ....
A 22.caliber has killed Everything on planet Earth, even Elephants !!
Damn straight, thats when it all goes out the door.
I personally do not care to be shot by any type of round. Not even a bb gun!
Phil D - Exactly! All guns, no matter how powerful they are should be treated with extreme caution and safety.
I got shot in the face with a bb gun I did not enjoy it
Good point!
Even a bb or pellet gun can be lethal.
I saw a news clip on a young man, that was shot in the chest with a pellet gun and didn't survive!
People who say a 22lr isn't a potent round for self-defense, are just out of touch with reality!
I have a full auto BB gun that can dump 52 rounds in few seconds. It would really suck to be shot with! Some people in EU countries that aren't as free as America do use them for home defense.
tjwright ya... a full auto pellet gun.... that would fuck someones world up lol.... especially a spray to the face
An acquaintance of mine was shot in the shoulder with a 22 LR out of a mini revolver. He says he went down like a sack of potatoes! Your results may vary.In the house, I would grab my 10/22, before my shotgun with buckshot. Even though each pellet carries about the same energy as a .22 LR, you are responsible for ALL of those pellets that miss the bad guy. Another thing to consider. Have you ever shot a shotgun or a large caliber handgun inside a building without hearing protection? Very disorienting in an already stressful situation. It would be much easier to make accurate double taps with the .22 IMHO.If you decide to choose the 10/22 for self defense, you can improve your odds by loading with a quality round, instead of bulk pack ammo. The CCI HP Mini Mag will expand nicely and reduce the chance for over penetration.Being a premium ammunition, there is less chance for malfunction in your rifle. Just to be sure, you should run a few boxes of your selected ammo through your 10/22, using the magazines you will depend on. Good job on the video!
Tony Brucato - Good points on the shotgun, rifle or higher caliber pistol blasts. I’m sure we’ve all accidentally shot a round or two outside without ear protection (for the non-hunters) and been subject to the immediate ear ringing. CCI Mini Mag are my 22LR round of choice (and I have 1,000’s of rounds of it) but weren’t quite as inexpensive as some of the bulk ammo when purchased for everyday target shooting. Thankfully my Ruger 10/22 feeds and shoots all my 22LR CCI ammo every time I pull the trigger and I for one would not want to be on the receiving end of the shot.
vachief - No doubt that a blast of birdshot at close distance would be devastating but if your .22 is closer than your shotgun then aim true and let the .22 do the rest.
vachief I hear you brother, I've got a 10/22 takedown model. But my choice for defending the castle is the 870 with the sure shot stock and 5 #6's between the box spring and matress. If the perp keeps coming after he hears the sound of me filling the chamber.......may God help him, he's gonna need a miracle. With 18.5" barrel it's my go to for sure.
avid huntr1016 - No doubt that my Glock 17 and 12 gauge are my top choices for home defense as but if my .22 is close and my aim true I will not hesitate to let the .22 do the rest.

Why did you shoot him 50 times? I only had 2 magazines.
Let your lawyer do the talking. A statement like "I only had 2 magazines" could land you in prison if the prosecutor is having a bad day...or wants to make a point.
I think R.W. was just infusing some humor.
Having a ready gun and knowing how to use it is your best home protection.
You got that right 👍🏻
As pointed out several times, anything that even "looks" like it can repeat pain immediately is a good defense weapon for most instances. For those that require more, a semi-auto .22 will definitely get the job done.
A .22 hits like a 90 pound weight, moving 1200 fps, at 100 yards.
True story.
Something that nobody has discussed in the 22lr for self/home defense is the effects of shooting a large caliber handgun or a shotgun indoors without hearing protection. Even with your adrenalin pumping, rupturing your eardrums WILL affect your ability to defend yourself. A 22lr, while loud enough, is unlikely to do any damage like that to yourself, while having a cumulative (multiple hits on target) effect as a shotgun blast. Works for me.
benthere422. Absolutely an issue but don't short sell the noise from a 22, I was a competitive pistol shooter the 22 had more long term damage because of the high frequency of the 22lr compared to 45acp to my hearing, bottom line is a hole in your body of any size will get your attention that is a fact
Anyone interested should look up Bernie Goetz. He does an interview with one of the major networks where he gives a detailed account of firing his snubnose revolver in a crowded NYC subway car. It's chilling and very eye opening. It's worth the watch.
I think you made a valid point with this gun. The utter lack of recoil in a stocked weapon like this really makes accurate rapid fire possible... unlike anything that you will find in higher caliber weapons. I thought the same thing while rapid shooting an AR style .22 pistol, but without a stock... I couldn't be as effective as with your 10/22.
Keeping a gun on target for quick and accurate follow up shots contributes to the credibility of a 10/22 as a defensive weapon. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
I never understood the notion of any bullet not being “sufficient” for a home defense situation. If you’re not willing to get shot by it to prove your point, it’s a solid self defense option.
It is all about shot placement, but the 22 LR round is a capable round for self-defense.
Very true. My friend does not own guns but does a lot of paintball. He has one at home that has the velocity jacked up to its maximum ability for home defence. He can lay down fire like a machine gun. Imagine a face full of those! No thanks.
LOL - I don't believe he is heading my way anymore... I loved the video.
A lot of folks in the "tactical crowd" would argue differently, and will get extremely hostile if you disagree with their "expertise". But if you search the news you find many people getting killed by a .22. I would not want to go to war with a .22, but at close home-defense distances a .22 suppository will have enough penetration to disrupt a few organs necessary for life, if ya get my meaning. That's what really counts. It's not the optimal caliber, but it is a viable caliber.

Round darn near passed through the guy after penetrating the sternum, 2 lobes of the left lung, pericardium sac, ripping a 1.5" gash in the aorta, punching a hole through the rear of the 7th rib next to the spine, and then lodging into a back muscle.

In the 1930's the U.S. Army did a study that concluded IF a round can penetrate a piece of 3/4 knotty pine at 100 yards, it CAN deliver a lethal hit especially if hit in a major organ. Last time I checked, the .22LR CAN AND WILL penetrate a 3/4 " piece of pine at 100 yards. WORKS FOR ME!!

22 LR is more deadly than other calibers because it doesn't have enough power to penetrate through the body. The subsequent ricochets within the body can sometimes cause more damage than larger calibers, whose use would have resulted in a cleaner wound..... yes I Googled this.
I even read stories from nurses saying the same thing. They weren't able to find able to know where the bullets went.
only real gun enthusiasts will know the 10/22 is a great self defense gun because of two reasons: .22 potentially badly hurts someone instead of making them black out and you are awake for all that pain so it will hurt like hell, also .22 does not exit per se and will usually bounce around organs before killing the target
Most of the cowards aka criminals get the hell out of dodge when met with resistance with a firearm.

Considering that. 223- 5.56mm is just a larger projectile with alot more powder behind it, its basically a .22 call. Round
Not quite the same, though. Th e 5.56 travels at 3x the speed of a .22 LR. Bigger mass too (grains). Hydrostatic shock is far greater.
It's not basically a .22 Caliber round, it IS a .22 caliber round.
That dosen't mean it's anything like .22LR.
It is literally 10+ times more powerful & the wounding characteristics show this.
A 22 is about the ONLY firearm you can fire inside your house, at night, without being blinded and deafened by it. And a suppressed one is even better. And very accurate.
You got that right
Does not matter the size of the hole it’s all in where you place the hole.
For sure shot placement is definitely key with a 22LR.
And consider HOW MANY little holes he now has - 15-20 little holes - which will be in various parts of the body - will certain slow him down as he bleeds out.
@@simplywonderful449 - I believe most intruders or perps are looking for victims, they are not looking for a fight.
Any hole in a enemy will make them think twice and try to stop the bleeding . All armor is set up for frontal . .22 in the back is lethal . or just face shots ! Know your weapon and how to use it !
face is too hard and it might not penetrate clothing , try the neck
If you aim a 22 at someones balls, they get kinda nervous and figety.
Not a round you want in a gun fight but would definitely do the job in a home invasion

At home defense distances a high velocity.22 round will definitely cause the home intruder or intruders to at the very least rethink their objective.
I have a friend with a Marlin and he swears by it. Nailed it on the head with your last sentence. Many perpetrators or home intruders are looking for an easy out. Usually the slightest bit of defensive action will send them in another direction. Also way too many people get hung up on one shot stopping power and then will tell you a 22 is just under powered and unreliable. With quality ammunition like CCI I have never had an FTE or an FTF. I will have them with the cheaper bulk ammo (which I usually shoot when planking), what will always end up running some CCI‘s through the rifle or pistol. Also I’ll be the first to tell you, if someone breaks into my home they are going to get shot way more than one time and with a 22LR I can guarantee you all of them from either myself or my daughter’s (both 130 lbs. or under) will be on target.
Outstanding!
Putting a hole where there isn't supposed to be one is a big deterrent. Putting 25 holes where there isn't supposed to be holes!? Something is broken, busted and leaking!
Nice video!
Keep'em coming!
Somebody would definitely have a bad day. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
When my brother came home from Vietnam he told me he saw army experimenting with 22 mag for pilots. Just laying out a field of fire til help came and a lot of rounds down range. I know it was the magnum but even 22LR had my respect after that.
Interesting to know. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've been shot with a 22. It will fuck you up too. That many 22 rounds coming that fast is going to work just like he said.
As long as priority is placed on shot placement then I see no reason why it wouldn’t work. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
I have never had a problem with the concept that any gun is better than no gun in a gunfight. Given relatively low hit probability for most shooters on moving targets under stress, the greater capacity of the 10/22 helps mitigate that problem by allowing at least some shots on target. Better a hit or two with a .22 than a miss with a 12 gauge. With a 10/22, anyone in the house can easily be taught to quickly transition to different targets or put multiple hits on the same target. As to the math; #1 Buck is 40 grains, a CCI Velocitor is 40 grains. #1 buck out of an 18" barrel runs about 1200-1300FPS. A CCI Velocitor runs about 1400FPS from a 10/22. There tend to be 16 pellets of #1 in a 12 gauge or 9 pellets in a 20 gauge. So a 25 round mag in a 10/22 dumps out a little over 4350 ft/lbs of energy, a 12 gauge 16 pellet #1 will give you about 2200 ft/lbs, and a 20 gauge 9 pellet #1 will give you about 1250 ft/lbs. So the 10/22 is essentially pumping out the same energy as two 12 gauge or three 20 gauge defensive loads, with the same mass projectiles. For jelly fans, #1 buck averages 12"-13" penetration, and CCI Velocitor averages 12"-13" gel penetration. I wouldn't say the results are identical, but certainly comparable.
mingheemouse Great additional insight!
I run on GSW's of all types. Usually shot multiple times from Ak's 9mm 45mm 223 you get the picture. Most of the victims are still somewhat alive. Heart still beating and sometimes breathing when I arrive. Now on the other hand when I have to look for the entrance wound because it's so tiny. The victim is usually a 45 dead on scene. The .22 from what I've seen patching people up for the last 14 years is a deadly round. I'm in South Florida where no one puts on winter cloths. So no layering up.
Good insight into real world scenarios. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Thank you for your encouraging Words😊
I just bought a 10/22 Compact. I have ARs, AKs, etc, 9mm handguns, but the 10/22 will be the bedside gun. With its compact size and 16 in barrel, it is very maneuverable inside the house and follow on shots will be a breeze, not to mention the noise factor vs an AR or AK fired indoors.
High capacity..low recoil...perfect!
Exactly why my teenage daughters enjoy shooting and are very proficient with the 10/22.
It does not matter the caliber... if you point a barrell at me it looks like the size of a barn door.
You have made a very valid point 👍🏻
Correct!
It’s been proven to many times,22lr is more than enough to put somebody down. Seen videos where they were shooting 300 yds , through 8 layers of denim and a 8lb roast. It’s all about shot placement.
You are definitely correct, it is all about shot placement. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
One well-placed shot is all it takes to stun or stop permanently, but it's so easy to land more with almost no recoil. .22lr is very practical and still deadly
@@MrGriff305-j7s - Absolutely 👍🏻
45 years ago, my buddies and I used to reliably poach deer with .22 lr.
The most dangerous weapon in the world is the one you have with you. Quote from range officer LBPD 1987
Can’t argue with that philosophy 👍🏻
.22 is in the same boat as .25 and .32 ACP. I carry a 32 when I can’t fit anything else. All three are incredibly lethal if the target is hit in the correct areas, just less margin of error. It’s always better to have something than nothing.
You are 100% correct. Shot placement is key for stopping a threat.
Besides the great video, I can't tell you how much it warms my heart to see you using eye and ear protection. I've watched 7 firearm videos today and yours was the only one featuring protection.
pars4245 - I wish I could say that I always wear eye protection however I have had some occasions where the heat and humidity have been so high that it almost prevents me from wearing eye protection because the glasses fog up immediately. Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching.
@@bigaarmory100 Me too, especially on those humid summer nights at trap shoots! Still, good to see a responsible shooter. Please keep up the good work, you've got a new subscriber.
Love how you cut video on jam and said you wanted to be nice. Case in point why it’s not the go to gun when your life depends on it.
@@bwilson7000 - Note - This video was spur of the moment and I was using was bulk ammo (specifically Federal AutoMatch) and did encounter one jam. If I were going to load up for possible self-defense use with a .22LR then I would go with CCI Velocitor’s, CCI Mini Mag‘s or CCI Stinger’s for which I have never had a FTF or FTE. I would not count on the reliability of bulk 22LR ammo. Also keep those mags clean. 22LR can dirty up some mags so cleaning your mags on occasion will go a long way towards contributing to the reliability of your firearm. Lastly, a 22LR would never be my first choice for a self-defense firearm, but if it was the only firearm I had, then I would have confidence in its ability as a self-defense firearm. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Right now a S&W 15-22 is what my wife can handle but she is deadly with it. She can consistently hit 3" spinners at 30 yards off hand. The adjustable stock fits her and high round count with no recoil works. It is the best for her not everyone.
kfsrmn The main thing is that she is comfortable and confident shooting it. Properly placed shots even with a 22LR will stop the advance of an attacker. I have a M&P 15-22 as well and they are fun guns to own and shoot.
If it goes through a two-inch book, it's good enough.
*I've never met anyone prepared to take a 22 to the chest to make the point that a 22 is no good for self defense !*
If you did then that meeting would likely take place in the hospital. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
I was hitting quarter size groups at 50 yards as fast as I can pull the trigger with my 10/22 .. might not be powerful but the amount that can rapidly hit makes a big difference
Absolutely, thanks for watching and commenting
A 22 Lr is lethal. I have seen it doing great at 300 yards..
I have a few firearms, but my 10/22 is my favorite. I know it soounds crazy.
It is the same way with me. I truly enjoy shooting the rifle, I am very accurate with it, and it is cheap to shoot. Also the fact that my teenage daughters can pick up the rifle and shoot it without hesitation adds a lot to the appeal factor of the rifle.
I JUST LOVE MY 10/22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Rose - Probably the most fun you can have at the range or farm without breaking the bank. A 10/22 never disappoints.
how can you not love perfection
I started recommending a set up to customers where I work just like this because in 2020 guns are pretty hard to find and not everyone can operate a semi auto pistol or manage a double action revolver trigger.
10/22’s are still “reasonably” priced compared to other guns and that I could tell 22LR ammo was the last to disappear off shelves (not counting hunting rifle ammo) and even if you can’t find it on the shelves if you know somebody else that is a Second Amendment supporter then everybody has some 22LR ammo they can let you buy off of them or just let you have.
That is true...we went with simple,simple,simple...a double barrel and revolvers...it is the rare person that can think straight in an "oh shit!" moment...aim, squeeze trigger...under duress that can work, we hope...
I think this rifle is the perfect blinker, looks like so much fun
Yes 100% I have thought of it as a home defense weapon. It’s sitting next to my bed with my ruger 25 round banana mag. I take it over my ksg both ar’s Glock usp sccy 870 versamax. There is no gun I can rely on more and I feel more deadly with than my 10/22. My first gun and favorite gun.
Confidence in shooting a particular gun can go a long way especially in accuracy and speed of follow up shots. Additionally if the 10/22 did not work then you certainly have several other options to finish off the job.
@@bigaarmory100 Yes sir I do. I tend to rely on my lab to give me fair warning as well.
In a typical home defense situation I doubt anyone shot by anything would continue to attack - so yes, the .22 would work - its not going to drop them but its certainly going to turn them around. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If I’m behind that trigger call the coroner. He’ll be dead!
2nd Amendment
Shall Not Be Infringed
Amen
The Israeli army use 10/22 silenced in same sniper ops
Yes, to shoot women and children, and then call you an antisemite if you talk about it.
Yeah... head shots...
they use the ruger to shoot people in the legs during unrest
I don't miss many shots in 22, or have a need to miss... the only time I have issues is when they jam, but with good cci or something, I'm gonna use 22 all day.
Most people relate to the 22lr ammunition as the ammunition we had 30 -40 yrs ago its not there are 22lr ammunition like the Velocitor when coupled with a great weapon like tbe 10 22 makes it a very formidable combination
Strait Jacket - Definitely, everybody remembers shooting Thunderbolts back then that may misfire more than they should, but with the quality ammo nowadays such as most of the CCI ammo the reliability of the 22LR round is vastly improved.
I've always considered the 22 long round a good self defense round since I learned that certain assassins in history used them. One shot to the head the bullet will ricochet around in the skull and scramble the brain. DEAD!
It helps when they're asleep.
