    Love these videos! I got lucky and could visit the cockpit of a 777-300ER and sit in the right hand seat. Such a beautiful cockpit, and aircraft!

      @@vedymin1 it really doesn’t do much on batteries, although if you switch on the standby power more will come on with batteries only. But this is not needed when starting the APU

      Yeah, my first thought too...but since I never "typed" on the B-777 I based your comment on my experience with other Boeings and Douglas. The fire warnings were/are powered by the Battery Bus, but not the squibs if I recall correctly (retired now, need to check my manuals).

      You can turn on the standby pwr but that takes some time. Normally you just start up the APU like this.

      You can turn on the standby power to start up AIMS but that would take about 10 minutes, and because we do not want to drain the battery, it is normally not done.
      If on external power you can see the start up on the status page.

      When APU fails to start or has an auto shutdown, you would need to connect a GPU to troubleshoot the problem.

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  5 місяців тому +1

      Nope, just the sound of a starting APU on the background, but if it doesn’t start on the battery the first time we will need an external power to see what is wrong with the APU.

    Do you know what is the HYD PRESS in the STAT page is? It says 90 in the video, but I search online and it said the system pressure is 3000psi. Are there any differences?

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  2 місяці тому +1

      As there are no hydraulic pumps on there is no system pressure. Brake pressure is the only one available and that comes thanks to from a accumulator.

    I thought the sequence, after APU power was established, was:
    APU bleed air-AUTO
    Left & right packs-AUTO
    ADIRU-On
    Hydraulic Primary switches, all 4, pushed “ON”
    Fire test.
    I’m still learning though. I’m going from a 747 into a 777. Maybe leaving APU bleed air switches & pack switches on after shutdown, is normal too. IDK

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  9 місяців тому +2

      Hi, with the B777 pack switches are when shutting down APU switched off. APU bleed switch stays in AUTO.
      I normally don’t startup ADIRU if I don’t need it, flight crew then shuts it down and restart it again.
      Also don’t switch on hydraulics, flight crew only switches hydraulics on just before departure.
      Fire test is done when electrical pwr available after start up APU with the batteries. If external pwr is connected you can do it before.

      If you have no pwr at all on the aircraft APU will not start. The APUC at least needs battery pwr to control the start up of the APU.

      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  9 місяців тому +3

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  6 місяців тому +7

      Fire test doesn’t work when starting with batteries, as AIMS isn’t powered you can’t test the system, you can do it after pwr up. But don’t worry the APUC is very capable in controlling and monitoring the startup and will take action when a fire is detected.
